  • Why did the people leave this city? Why did they leave their things there? Sorry for my bad English, hope somebody understand it...

  • It is amazing that it is in such good condition.Doesn't it suffer from vandalism? Are there any pictures of it when it was a thriving town?

  • Ain't no dam granite counter tops in this here town... :)

  • seclusion is my idea of bliss

  • i wanna live there!!! Im gonna see if i can!

  • wonderfull,epic,real west

    name of song please

  • hey kneedown, i like to know the name of the song as well if possible

  • Why this city is so organized? There's security there? I can't imagine how the people didn't stole the houses stuff. If I was there and has no security I would steal nothing, but it's sure that I would play that pool, open the trunk, try to turn on the truck, try to put gas in my car with that bomb, dress the coat in the house, poop in the restroom, try to find some unfinished beer at the bar, sleep like a king in different houses for a week, infinity possibilities!

  • Great video and song. They go well together. Question for you: How did you find the song?

  • for a ghost town, it seems to be fairly popular for tourist to visit!!!

  • Great pics. We were just there 8-21-2011. one of the best places in the world the kids love it. we try to go every year.

  • is it possible to get the name of the song please???

  • Really enjoyed your video! I've been to Bodie several times, and I'm already looking forward to going back again someday. I also put a Bodie slideshow together and posted it about a week ago. Amazing how many of the same shots we have!

  • Yeah, good ol´ Bodie! Very good pictures and fine music!

  • I found the guy who sings it, is called Diamond, name of the song "Ghost town" his page is diamond411

  • God, i love those places.. they are so magic.. so sad and so amazign.. I want to go there :( why is it so far, boohoo

  • why they left? its not like pripyat with all the radiation they just left bodie?

  • @GamesAndmoreByBrick the place was bult durng the gold rush. After the gold from aroudn the area got taken out, they left it

  • can you tell me the name of the song & artist ? thanks

  • Who sang this? and what song is this? it's amazing!

We're going to Bodie this year and i've love to have this on my ipod. :)

    thx.

  • looking all the dust looks like was open air museum but abandoned as everything looked set up for public to see how people used to live

  • what happened to bodi? why did people leave it? its not a city just a few houses....so wat happened to it terrorists took over?

  • cool town. that song is awesome

  • Who sings this song?? I love it x

  • I visited Bodie in 1979 while I was in the High Sierras. I remember there being cattle grazing freely throughout the town. You could walk up to these huge animals and they wouldn't even run or anything. I also remember reading how the town burned down in the early 1900's. Originally, the town's name was Body but everyone mispronounced it, so they change the spelling to Bodie. I remember reading it was a tough town. About 1 killing a day.

  • OMG!!! that place is so butiful.

too bad its all old now....'

  • where abouts is it

  • I'm curious, is Bodie supervised or run by anyone or can you just go there randomly at anytime? What if someone choose to want to live there...could they? I'm not personally interested in living there, just wondering if Bodie is privately owned by someone.

  • bodie is such a nice place, i visited this town last year when i drove from miami to frisco. Someday i want to go to bodie again.

  • I love the old wil wild west of Nevada and parts of California :) i used to live in Reno i miss it so much i live in Washington now and im so homesick no wild wild west it sucks thanks for the vid brings back lots of great memories.

  • why do we call it ghost town??? it is just an abandoned place!why do u thing there are ghosts or something in there? please reply

  • @pArtYaNImAaL= It's a figure of speech. They call it a ghost town, because it's a shadow of it's former self. I sure would loved to have seen it in it's prime.

  • @vigo894 that was helpful :) thank you for replying ;D

  • Great shots of Bodie - classic western ghost town of our dreams!

  • I really would like to know how authentic the left behind items are. Some of the items looked like they were recreated.

  • One question: What is the name of this song??? I needed pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaseeeeeeeeee!!

    Thank You!!!

  • oh my god, i'd really like to go there one day because i think this ghost town is fascinating

    btw: great video &song

  • Growing up in the Mojave Desert this was an influence on Paris Disneyland's Thunder Mesa and all Big Thunders.

  • enjoyed your video very much and i would like to go there one day. great song, too :)

  • yeah me too...I find great sounds on this boo ghosts videos

  • The brick building there was my great, great, great grandma Johnson's, she is buried there.... my great, great grandfather and my great, great uncle are both buried there.....

It is nice to know the family history, but why couldn't grandman Johnson have had a hotel in the little community of Los Angeles instead of Bodie.... lol... I could be a Hilton now.

  • 3:03 beautiful toillet

  • Amazing photos, we are going to visit Bodie next year when we come to California for our holidays. Can't wait (especially now we've seen your photos) and as everyone else has said love the music, fits it perfectly.

  • it makes you wonder, what became of all the people? where they all went to? or ended up living the rest of their lives. it makes us relize how short a human life is and all that have been before us. its wonderful feeling, that sort of haunts you while visiting such places.

  • The coyote pics are LUCKY! All I get are grouse and some ranger's pet cat!

  • just went here yesterday. awesome place. You can go in the cemetery and you can see how people just left there house cause the fire. there is half cartons of milk and mayonnaise and everything. its cool

  • Good photos! Who does that song?

  • Thanks for the great photos. I plan on visiting in a few weeks. Sure looks like something you can spend hours exploring, pity I'll be so stretched for time.

  • Thanks for the great pictures of the town. Is the coyote tame? It is nice that the town is being preserved. It does look like everyone just left.

  • Cheers Andy , enjoyed yours too.

  • i am gonna be so pissed if they make this place into a tourist attraction.

  • Not that I would, but it seems like it would be easy for someone to still artifacts from there, unless it's like a guided tour. Cool video

  • Excellent footage of Bodie - We visited this ghostly place from England in July 2008. It gave us a real sense of the wild west. We felt the history. - well done and thanks

    Andy

  • i was there back in 96. Awesome place. Hard to breathe with the elevation at over 7000.

    make the trip cowboy!

  • Great Video!!!!! I have been wanting to go there forever. I will soon. What is the song? Who sings it?

    Thanks!!!!

  • 'oi! beatuiful pictures.

what's the name of the song and artist?

  • That's impressive.. Are they keeping that town as a tourist attraction?

  • It looks like Bodie has fared quite well due to the arid climate after 60+ years. It's been preserved excellently when compared to a temperate zone ghost town like Pripyat, Ukraine which has only been vacant for almost 22 years.

  • I am so excited, I am going there tomorrow!! That's why your video was really great to me!

  • I know you will have a great time.

Its worth buying a guide book when you first go in as it will give you info on all the houses and the people who lived in them.

    Take care.

    Andy..

  • Hi Andy,

Man you were right!! I loved Bodie and it was great to see the photo's you had taken there. I kept thinking "hey, there's that shot."

Great song you have attached to the video. Can you tell me what song that is?

    Thanks again, Patty ; )

  • I'm glad you liked the place Patty.

Are you going to post a Bodie video on YouTube?

I have sent you a message with info on where i found the song.

  • Thanks, I'll check my email. No, I doubt I will. I haven't ever posted YouTube before and anyway perfection cannot be improved upon!! ;) Yes, that would be your video!! ;)

    Thanks again Andy...

  • i was wondering if i could get the info on this song, great video!
