Really? Only 108,000 people have watched this? History kids. This is what you, your kids and your parents will be referring to as the music that made your life.

@ismokeweed420 That, Smokeweed420, (wish I'd thought of that handle) Is a herdy-gerdy "The hurdy gurdy or hurdy-gurdy is a stringed musical instrument that produces sound by a crank-turned rosined wheel rubbing against the strings." is how Wikipedia starts the definition.. It's like, to me, a cross between a violin, & bag pipes...hope this helps.

this is funny the wolfman getting shot and that mans head blowing up with all different colours i wonder what drugs they were on when they came up with this film the highlights for anyone who doesnt have this film are the song remains the same with sword fighting sequence and stairway to heaven one of the best live versions of the song ever filmed very lucky that it was filmed thank god
this is so beautiful how theyre all with their families. you could just see the love they had for them and their children. its so sad robert lost his son to stomach disease
I loved the rocking horse at 7:15 ish when we watched this in the '70s-such a great pity Zep no longer exist-Bonzo's drumming was a real powerhouse- and with him gone, the band just ended....
I remember a bunch of us friends went and saw this movie together,we got nice and toasted beforehand. It wasn't what we were expecting, actually we thought it was just going to be a concert or something. They took an intermission half way in,of course, more bong hits insued. One chubby guy that was with us had a bag of peanuts in the shell, and he was tearing those things up,my sister couldn't stop laughing as we watched him.......funny.
hows it pg when a little boy is playing with his weinershnitsle my mom thought it was cute i thought it was gross i mean can't they have bathing suites
Man, where would i be able to purchase clothes like Mr. Plant's at 9:13, im mainly interested in his shirt and blazer, would anyone know what it may be called?

@KLthebig Peter Grant (their manager) chose an old mobster story for his fantasy sequence. I'm not sure where the wolf-man comes in. I'm pretty sure he was insane.
@KLthebig All the off-music scenes are fantasies. As Peter Grant was a band member, he got one. As a mofo tuffnut geezer gangster. Check out his 'scene' later in the movie.
Little note of interest: the house at which the big black car (a Packard or Studebaker, I think - I'm not an expert on 30s American cars) pulls up is Hammerwood Park, near East Grinstead, East Sussex, one of two houses in the country (both in East Sussex, the other now a school) designed by the guy who went on to do the White House and the Capitol Building in Washington DC. Zeppelin bought it in '73, IIRC, by which time it was already full of dry rot.
@EccentricRichard - In 1982, they (minus Bonzo, obviously) sold it to a friend of mine, a guy called David Pinnegar (YouTube username "latribe"), who described it to me as "six months from total collapse". He and his wife pulled the house back from the brink, and it's now Grade One listed, and much used for photoshoots and filming jobs, including a video for The Darkness (the almost-not-execrable Is It Just Me, I think), plus films starring Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley, among others...
This is the worst concert film ever made. Led Zeppelin was good in the studio but awful in concert. I remember this pathetic movie on in theaters in the 80's and people just got up and walked the hell out.
@johntheyank88 You're right in saying this was not a good concert film, but wrong in saying Led Zeppelin wasn't a good live band. Zeppelin absolutely ruled the stage in the early to mid 70's. This particular concert (actually 3 nights at the Garden) was at the end of a very long tour where they were all exhausted and ready to go home, and it shows. But check out "How the West Was Won" for an much better example of how good Zeppelin was live when they were at their peak.
@Jolly4jc How the West Was Won was boring compared to this concert. I know- I used to have the cd. This rock video was their best concert. Pure magic. And the spacey movie was brilliantly designed to complement the concert. Page played like he was possessed. I absolutely LOVE this film. I just don't get why it's so underrated.
@london2z i agree totally, this is underrated, but how the west was won i think is a better performance. this movie has the trippy fantasies and whatnot, but i think htwww is a lot better musically. movie or not, i feel that album transports you to that show and you feel like ur actually there. another good live album the royal albert hall show in 68 possibly 69? also check out when they played in dallas tx in 72 if u can find it. these bootlegs are hard to come by hail zep!
@ismokeweed420 One more thing- I guess Peter Grant, or whoever, must have thought it was their best concert, also, in order to choose that one for the movie.
@london2z That's not how it happened. They, the movie makers/producers, decided to film/record just the Madison Square Gardens concerts in advance. So whatever was going to happen at those concerts were going into the movie no matter what.
I don't understand I realise that the kids in the river my of represented houses of the holy? The gangsters in through the out door? somehow.......but seriously WTF is this?
@Xenogalaxy79 The kids in the river were Robert Plant's kids messing about in the water and weren't the kids on the album cover. The gangsters were a ongoing joke about the manager Peter Grant and some of roadie/body guards were mobsters.
At the point where the one guy's head fell off and six different colors of paint shot out of his neck I just stopped bothering to try and figure out the meaning of the opening sequence : /
Love this fucking movie..Love Led Zeppelin. This is one whacked out scene. The dummy where the head falls off, looks like Gene Hackman !!!!! Lol !!. Oh yeah, what kinda creepy game were they playing anyway?? wtf? Anybody notice the swastikas? wtf ?
the mob shooting is really led getting back at the critics because notice peter grant is reading a newspaper in the car he's riding in before they make their hit
i believe it symbolized the brutality of the managing position and job. it was a tongue n cheek representation of the music scene i think. of course i could be wrong, who can know for sure?
I figure Peter is alleging the NY Mafia was the ones that ripped-off the band; his payback fantasy. Maybe he made the mistake of pushing his weight round with the unions (maybe a few more things) ...used a British film crew instead of local. Cost 'em a whole lotta blow, LOL. Cops were prolly also quite happy 2 run 'em all up a post about the robbery; nice op 4 intel. Gave Pete a kick in the ass back 2 the Starship, & a bunch of snickers from both the Mafia, & the Cops, best guess.
I noticed the tape recorder by jimmy's feet i wonder if this was when he was recording music for Kenneth Angers Lucifer Rising cause there is a hurdy gurdy on that recording, which i like
n now i relized the mooding n filmim of that part, it scene reprsented their life style and their react too the media always wantin them to peform in the 70s
9:08 I love the way Robert scoops up and kisses his baby boy Karac (b. 1972 - d. 1977) -- such a sweet image. Sadly, the baby passed away from a viral illness. Robert's daughter Carmen Jane (b. Nov 1968), was 5 years old her ... if that is her, and I believe it is. Such beautiful children.

I noticed the tape recorder by jimmy's feet i wonder if this was when he was recording music for Kenneth Angers Lucifer Rising cause there is a hurdy gurdy on that recording, which i like
