  • I make nice videos..with great quality..That too often. I;'m still stuck at 100 subscribers..=( Anyways nice video! :D tanx for those tips..:)

  • Thanks! Great tips. These are gonna help me out later on :))

  • @pandacookie1013 You are welcome.

  • Great video, Dan!

  • @iPawdTouch Thanks Ben!

  • Hi, I need to know about partnership and age restrictions (if there are any). I'm sure you will cover that topic but I really can't wait for your 4th or even 5th "tips video". Can you help me?

  • @ChrisHat94 To be a partner you need a Google AdSense account in your name. However, you have to be 18 to open a Google AdSense account. Sorry.

  • @myapplezone No problem, I'll turn 18 next year, thank you for your help.

  • @ChrisHat94 just ask your parents to sign up in their name. Thats what I did

  • @davidgphone Thanks

  • Thanks for the tips! I'm kinda new to YouTube and I like Tech products mainly apple lol. I'm using my iPod touch 4G for making my video's is that a decent camera for video shooting they say it does 720P! I also would like to do video blogs or Vlogs as people call them. Again is the iPod touch 4G okay for that? I use iMovie to edit right on my idevice.

  • @ShannonAlcorn As long as you have good lighting the iPod Touch will produce decent video!

  • Pocket cameras are terrible for reviews due to no focus. I would suggest a point and shoot that supports 720p. They usually have good macro, and wont cost you much more. Although, pocket camera are good for vlogging. If you have a not-so-good camera, I suggest getting several desk lamps around you, or a 500W work light, and covering it with some paper.

  • @thatapplegeek Tyler, you make a very good point and I completely agree. If you can find an inexpensive point and shoot that also shoots 640X480 video that would be the best choice.

  • Thanks for the great video, and nice Mac setup.

  • @electrotech555 Thanks Austin.

  • thanks for the tips! :)

  • @CPCproduction You are welcome!

  • nace tipsss, good videos man....

  • @myapplezone well I'll probably blog, edit videos, minecraft, FaceTime I can't think of anything else

  • @wertydm The new MacBook Airs have the new core i5 and i7 processors and are quite fast and could handle everything you need. Your only limitation would be storage for all your videos as the MacBook Airs have very very fast SSD drives but far less storage than a traditional hard drive.

  • Hi should I get a MacBook Air, or Macbook Pro, I am a you tuber, i love editing, but I don't hardcore edit(like freddiew) . O should I stick with my 2009 White Unibody MacBook?

  • @shurburs What do you use? Final Cut? iMovie? Premiere?

  • Hi, would an iPhone 4 do ? I'm sure they record in 720p, not sure what frame rate ?

  • @robbiecee2 Yes, in fact before I got the DSLR I recorded a couple of my videos with my iPhone 4.

  • @myapplezone is the front facing camera ok ? I think it's standard 640x480 ?

  • @robbiecee2 30 frames per second. If you have an iPhone 4, it will be fine for starting out. I wouldn't by an iPhone 4 just for the ability to record, you can find cheaper cameras that will record better video. Look at some $200 point and shoots. Anyway, a new iPhone 5 will come out sometime in the fall, and it will probably have 1080p video.

  • @thatapplegeek Agreed!

  • I disagree. I mean I know why your telling people not to make videos if they don't have a standard deffinition camera, but I say make it weather or not it's good quality or not. I mean as long as the information is good in the videos, the quality isn't the most important part.

  • You should install Caffeine on the MacBook Pro, so that it doesn't go black. Great videos though, happy subscriber here!

  • @techfreakout

You don't even need Caffeine, and things like that can be bad for your Mac. You can use System Preferences to make the screen not turn off. But that can be bad for the battery life or screen if you leave it on for too long.

  • Great tips! Btw what mic are you using for your DSLR and if there anyway to connect it to the blue snowball mic?

  • @yourtechreviewz The RODE VIDEOMIC. The Blue Snowball is a USB Microphone.

  • 2 questions: 1. It seems u used Canon's Utility Software to record this video... Did u get it to run on Lion or is iit still OS 10.6? 2. When u talk about lighting plz include how to get ur skin tone right... I always turn out too pale.

  • @TheSayWhatTube Yes, EOS Utility does run on Lion. To get the skin tone correct you need to set the white balance of the camera before recording or set the white balance in your video editing software.

  • @myapplezone thanks a lot for ur answer... after u said it works i checked some forums and it appears to be working if u have an older version of EOS Utility so i guess i have to install that. Keep up ur good work... Really like ur clips.

  • Great tips Dan,

this should help many new users :)

  • @luismacintosh Thanks Luis!
