  • I so miss saturday mornings as a kid when i see things like this.

  • if her and spiderman have sex does that mean she kills and eats him after?

  • I remember watching this as a kid…but I don't remember her web swinging…she's not supposed to LOL! I loved this cartoon simply cause it was a comic book character I could see on Saturday morning! Even then I hated the Wonder Woman-type spin to transform.

  • I remember seeing this show ages ago as a kid. Don't recall much beyond this intro, though.

  • OMG THIS IS JUST LIKE ANOTHER HERO CALLED SPIDER-MAN THIS IS A RIP-OFF

  • @emean5 Marvel debuted Spider-Woman in 1977 in their Marvel Spotlight comic. So dont worry, pal. Spider-Woman really isn't a Spider-Man rip off.

  • She had more powers than Spiderman, yet no one caught on.Goes to show you how women superheros do not favor over men!!Okay, that was bad.I'll shut up now.

  • She flies using a web made from her armpit hair?

  • I can see how Spider-like Her flying and Laser beams are.

  • @thepokekid01 She exists in Marvel comics. The flying is more like gliding, via her bioelectric field and the "lasers" are a bio pulse she can use to stun.

Of course they're not going to explain that in a kids cartoon from 1979 though.

  • From the looks of her powers, she could surely kick Spider-Man's ass....

  • JOAN VAN ARK!

  • Thumbs up! if you would like a subscription on Justice magazine!

  • Wonder woman ripped off the spinning into the costume skit

  • @ExplosionsNowInHD Actually, I think it may have been the other way around.

  • spiderwoman? normally exists spiderman and spiderpig from simpsons, spiderwoman its from marvel comics?:-?

  • @rurmundo

dont forget spider-ham, the pig version!

  • Spiderman and Wonder Woman had a kid?

  • I remember this from when I was a kid.

  • Joan Van Ark (Dallas, Knots Landing) did the voice of Spider-Woman.

  • This is a really bad blend of spiderman and wonder woman.

  • I love Retro Greatness from the 60s all the way to the early 90s. After 1996 its like creativity just took a down turn in all things animation, movies, TV shows, and music.

However , the one thing I wish would have been different is that all the shows would have NOT had all characters working for a paper, magazine, or TV network. It's like people in the industry were so fixated on themselves they could not create a character that did not work in their industry :)

  • The guy who created all those sound effects that became standard in the 70's and 80's must be rich right now.

  • I can understand Spider Woman flying, and I was a little confused about her spinning webs (I mean seriously, why swing on webs if you can fly? Well maybe using web power for fighting but here comes the last and most important question...) HOW THE HELL DOES SHOOTING LASERS OUT OF YOUR HAND RELATE ANYTHING TO SPIDER POWERS??? O_O;;

  • @leadeye2 In the comics it's described as a bio-chemical "sting". Yeah, it's still pretty weak, but it's not really "lasers".

  • @leadeye2 The original Spider Woman had something called Venom Blasts. They were bio-electric shots that came from her hands.

This power had nothing to do with spiders. MARVEL wanted Jessica Drew to be as far away from Peter Parker and Spider Man as possible. They wanted her to be unique as possible.

Frankly, creating this character was a big mistake.

  • amazing spider like powers including: lightning and flying, all spiders can do that!

  • @TopHatSaur I'd be even more terrified if they could do that!

  • a rip off of spiderman or made by marvel???

  • @TopHatSaur , Spider=Woman was made by Marvel comics. no it was not a rip off of Spider-man. she is a pretty cool character. i like d the character just as much as Spider-man.

  • @TopHatSaur She was created by Marvel to ensure they controlled the copyright. At the time there were a number of female spin-offs, especially in television (think of the Bionic Woman) and Marvel wanted to ensure they owned the rights to any such character. She-Hulk was created around the same time for much the same reason.

  • the spider just wanted to cup a feel

  • wow has anyone ever seen this? I never knew Spider Woman had a cartoon!

  • Awesome classic animation. But I never understood Spider-woman's wierdo powers?

  • @jayce79 , she is slightly different from Spider-man, She she does cling to walls and uses webs like Spider-man. But she all so glides thru the air just some Real spiders use the air currents to glide thru the air useing their webs. I'm not sure where the energy blast comes from since Real spiders don't do that.

  • This looks like it sucked dick. I must've been drunk when it came out.

  • @Spartacus217

Or mabie Drunk on dick perhaps?

  • @jayce79 Uncalled for.

  • @Spartacus217

    Boohoo.

  • @jayce79 The Horror.

  • @Spartacus217

    ???

  • This Spider-Women was the best. the costume was cool and she had one extra power that Spider-man didn't have.. that energy blast at 0:48 plus they barrowed from the WonderWomen TV show with her spining to change into her Costume.

  • at between the 52&53 second WOW what an ass she's got!

  • God-dam Sexual rights movement!! bring back the days where the men saved the day and woman drank in secret !!! lol .. id fuck spider woman as well as wonder woman and supergirl

  • If you took the time to google this series, it came out in 1979. Cartoons of that era where kind of "Cheesy" to put it mildly.

It did pave the way for Spider man to get a new show in 1981, then again in 1982 came Spider-man and his Amazing Friends.
