Yes there is an update. The Irish Government are supposed to be introducing a Bill that will legalise Puppy Farms !  They say that it will regulate the "industry" but in reality the Puppy Farms will continue as before.

Is there an update to this? Have the real human beings managed to stop this horror in ireland? Puppy mills are a disgusting problem in the US too, on a larger scale, as Ireland is a small country. People have turned to world into shit. Hope they're stopped and very soon.

in North |America we are working hard to completely ban puppy mills. there are so many unwanted dogs in shelters and so many euthanized it is a sad state of affairs so why in hell are these lazy people creating more. lots of purebred dogs in shelters too. Get a real job people! I'd go after the Government to get these banned.

@margdurrance Trust me, there are many of constantly pressuring counsellors and MPs about this vile trade. All we can do is keep chipping away, and of course the main thing is to try and educate people into not buying from pet shops and back yard breeders.

As the owner of an ex breeding puppy farm girl, who spent 6 years in hell, i see first hand the terrible after effects of this vile trade.

Im actually going to make a vid on puppy farms myself. This news clip only shows the "better" farmers ......There is much worse abuse going on . Some puppy farms in UK kill the dogs if they get sick ( cheaper than a vet ) , by kicking there heads in , or shooting them ( if the dog is "lucky"). The meat is then tossed to the litter mates. I know a lady who rescues puppy farm bitches - 99% of them are covered in mange , ear and eye infections , skin and bone and absolutley terried of human beings

Google the site "PurdysProtest" ans you will see the REAL fall out from puppy farms - Bitches tossed out by t here "farmers" into rescue when they are too ill to breed any more. Usually starving , frightened to death of everything , filthy and caked in there own excretment , half blind and mentally ill from been kept in dark cold ex pig-pens there whole lives . Poor dogs........And people , please belive me this farm on this program - despite its shortcomings - is defintiley one of the better ones. At least they have large and airy pens .............IVE SEEN MUCH WORSE !!! At least the dogs on here looked relativley healthy and clean , but still terribley overbred and unsocilaised. Ok, this is beyond ridiculous. This program is giving platform to a group of ''humans'' which shouldn't have a right to speak, in other places this is considered criminal.

There is no way puppy farming produces healthy & sound dogs. If you're going to buy a dog from a breeder go to one who does something with their dogs, shows, agility, whatever and health tests. The only reason to breed is to improve the breed. Not shoving two dogs together and hoping the best. Makes me sick.

Wow!! What a load of crap. It's all about the money for these dudes. They're lying - their dogs will be bred 2x a year up until 7/8 years old or older, they will never get sufficient exercise and are often unsocialised (not used to people). The sooner these systems are shut down the better for EVERYONE - human and animal.

The statement that the dog breeding industry is not subsidised is wrong, it is heavily subsidised by the poor animals who live and die in the kennels and by the puppy buyers who have to pay to put right health and behavioural problems and by the rescues that end up taking in the excess population of badly bred, badly reared puppies, Farming is never right for dogs as puppies need to live with our children in our homes unlike cattle or other farmed animals..

Great advert for not buying mass produced dogs! Modern science has proved the link between man and dog and to breed on mass with minimun human contact is cruel! How can these people truly know the temperament of the mum and pups if they are in a barn. He even admits that the dogs aren't exercised so how can he know the true fitness and health of the dog.

Those poor boxer puppies were shy of the man bringing the food and didn't know what to do with it - speaks volumes to me!
