The bible is so full of contradictions, hate, anger, death, and evil that I am surprised anyone still takes it seriously anymore. Love is the highest emotion, hate and anger are two of the lowest. Jealousy is a fault. A god who is all loving cannot hate or get jealous. A god who is omniscient knows how a person will be before they are born. Why would he then punish them in anger for being the way he created them? It's all just nonsense.
God loves everyone, sinners included. As His church, we are to love them too. However, the key is that love and tolerance are not the same thing. And it doesn't matter if it's homosexuality or adultery or pride. All are sinful and all need to be repented of. I am no less sinful than someone struggling with homosexuality, but it is my duty as a Christian to tell someone that they are in sin (while not losing sight of my own desperate need for Jesus). I love gay people, but they are living in sin.

Christians are going to struggle with sins, no manner what the sin may be, but for one to called out one sinner as if he or she doesn't commit any sin is hypocritical, and a hypocritical Christian, isn't a Christian. The bible say the first one without any sin cases the first stone. Not the one with sin. The bible condemn many things (Corinthians 6:9), but all can be forgiven though Jesus Christ. Excellent points. :-) The historical and cultural context is vitally important. Without understanding what was going on, we are not able to get a clear picture of what concerns the Biblical texts were addressing.
Scripture condemns homosexual behavior (and extramarital sex, which include homosexual acts) all over the place (such as Rom. 1, 1 Cor. 6, and 1 Tim. 1). And Scripture is inspired by God. And Jesus is God.
We agree on the inspiration of the Bible. We disagree on the interpretation of a few Bible texts. That is all. You are taking those verses out of Biblical context, linguistic context, and historical context when you use them against gay people.

I agree with your comments about Jesus. The reality is when people try to draw the distinction between loving the person and not the person's actions, they end up showing hate to the person. We are better off to forget the "hate" part and just love the person.
You seem to have difficulty witnessing without insulting people. The style of witnessing that uses insults is not successful. It is about like serving somebody a plate of human manure and wondering whey they do not want to eat what you gave them.
The problem of AIDS/HIV transmission through sharing of contaminated needles is very serious, and that is not an issue of sexuality. The real problem is that many people have multiple sexual partners - at the same time. That seems to place people at most risk. And there are people who for religious reasons do not want young people to know of the risks and how to protect themselves. I guess they would rather see people die than possibly sin. Sin can be forgiven. Death is hard to undo.
There is no proof AIDS was started by homosexual acts. In North America, it was discovered first in gay men. The majority of the people in the world, including in North America, who have AIDS are straight.
People assume my uncle is homophobic because he used to beat up gay people back in the 70s, but my uncle said he loves everyone including gays, he said he was only doing his godly duty by beating up the "gayness", not the people who had the "gayness". he also said if he ever had a child that was gay, he would only hate the "gayness," not the child.

I belive homosexuality is a sin, however, I feel that it wont ban you from heaven. I believe it isn't a choice in most cases though. Hate however, I feel is a horrible sin. I call it the devil's hand. It consumes you and harms otthers but harms the one who has hate the most.
I believe judgement is reserved for God alone. I support gay marriage. Happiness is priority #1.

what i get from that last thing is. Believers are granted everlasting life, but nonbelievers just die. the only way we go to hell is if we are also granted everlasting life. How could we go to hell without having everlasting life? We cant :-) plus id rather just die then go to heaven.

It says nothing of the non believers, so to me that just means that we die and thats it. Which i like more, if we were granted everlasting life. Then what is the point of this one? There is no point, look at the world, it is full of violence, death, desease, pain, hate and cruelty. Which most derives from religion. If thats what "god" teaches, i dont want to be by his side.

You can teach someone the word without passing judgment on them. If you Christian, you can easily see evildoers and false prophets, some clues would be: blasphemy of the holy Ghost, condemning, hatred, people who are using to bible to pass judgment on others, violent, and the list goes on and on. Jesus said, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing..." (v.15). How can we know false prophets unless we judge them by the Word of God? If we know the false prophets, how can we fail to warn the sheep of these "ravening wolves?" All through the Bible we find proof that they should be identified and exposed.

Christians are going to struggle with sins, no manner what the sin may be, but for one to called out one sinner as if he or she doesn't commit any sin is hypocritical, and a hypocritical Christian, isn't a Christian. The bible say the first one without any sin cases the first stone. Not the one with sin. The bible condemn many things (Corinthians 6:9), but all can be forgiven though Jesus Christ. We are not to pass judgment because with the same measure that we judge others, we will be judge.

The problem of AIDS/HIV transmission through sharing of contaminated needles is very serious, and that is not an issue of sexuality. The real problem is that many people have multiple sexual partners - at the same time. That seems to place people at most risk. And there are people who for religious reasons do not want young people to know of the risks and how to protect themselves. I guess they would rather see people die than possibly sin. Sin can be forgiven. Death is hard to undo.

People assume my uncle is homophobic because he used to beat up gay people back in the 70s, but my uncle said he loves everyone including gays, he said he was only doing his godly duty by beating up the "gayness", not the people who had the "gayness". he also said if he ever had a child that was gay, he would only hate the "gayness," not the child.
