  • Love him or Hate him its a pretty substantial moment in Nascar History! Personally, At this point in time I HATED Jeff Gordon, but as time went on he's one of my favorite drivers... This coming from a Dale Sr and Jr fan!

  • I miss Bob Jenkins on NASCAR races. I hope that Allen Bestwick becomes the next great announcer on ESPN and ABC.

  • Oh my god...did they really say oh my god on national television? Oh how the times have changed..

  • i dont care if people dont like jeff gordon for some reason, but hes a good driver and hes also been fair and polite 99% of the time, and also hes never flipped over in a winston cup car and i dont recall him ever breaking a bone in his body driving a nascar race car, i could be wrong about that though.

  • @C0LL1N

He's never broken a bone, but he's had some of the hardest hits.

  • back when nascar was good

  • @sabremetalhead its still good 2 this day!!

  • @TheCrowneJewel no its not.

  • They don't make announcers like this anymore.

  • the annoucers were so much better back then... go jeff!

  • i got choked up

    man o man

  • great win by jeff gordon, btw dale will never be like jeff

  • @crbassassin dale wouldnt want to be like jeff

  • Love this, thanks for sharing!!!

  • Go #24!!! Take home Indy, today!!!

  • has anyone seen the 40 greatest nascar moments on cmt? they talk about this race, and does anyone know the name of the song as they talk about it?

  • Jeff Gordon, the greatest race car driver ever and will keep on breaking records!! YOU GO JEFF!!!

  • My favorite race ever what a day!

    #24 best ever

  • Jeff's greatest win of his career.

  • if indy is so much better why are alot of openwheelers coming to nascar?

  • even more simple... its more of a challange.

  • even more simple... its more of a challange.

  • Jeff Gordon, wow!

  • if nascar would've been smart n not listened to the yankee influence that wanted a "playoff" n kept the old points system he would have 6 titles

  • statistics prove it? he led nascar in top tens by a whole bunch just last season and led by a couple hundred points going into the chase. wouldve been easy champion under old points system

  • Prozac makes people say stupid things!

  • I agree with you that the racing is better, and I do hope that the TEAM concept will get more cars for next season. What we need is more cars to make the racing even more exciting and make the 500 return to its former glory. But we all know what we really need is ONE OPEN WHEEL SERIES

    INDYCAR WORLD SERIES!!!

  • i wish bob jenkins still called races

  • I've still got the VHS of the entire race, I gotta get the intro put up. It's the same "Delta Force Theme" music ABC used for the Indianapolis 500 from 1988-1995. Hard to believe that we've now had 14 Brickyard's

  • compare the crowds reaction then to the reaction now

  • hehe your right

  • what does jenkins say when gordon's on the frontstrech it sounds like "here's from today 79 stock car races have been run here"

  • "years from today when 79 stock car races have been run here, well remember the name jeff gordon!"

  • thats kinda funny because he now has 79 career wins. but hopefully not for long!

  • i guess then they had run 79 indy 500's???

  • I am often asked why I am a J.Gordon fan. And I can only reply by saying, because J.Gordon is a champ in more ways than one. He is the man in command. And the best part of being a J.Gordon fan is, the drive for 5 is alive in 07'. I'm proud of ya Jeff. See you at the Brick Yard this weekend and yes, in Victory Lane.

  • Go Jeff Go!

  • i dont think so. i think jeff did

  • fuck you

  • dale earnhardt was the first "MAN" to win the brickyard 400.

  • i cant wait till next seasonwith the new hendrick team, hendrick will dominate and this might be jrs chance to finally win the cup

  • Oh please!!! NASCAR has every right to be at IMS. In fact, NASCAR will dominate the brickyard, while Indycar fades into the sunset.

  • wtf. Nascare can do no wrong!

  • The dawning of a new era, the Gordon domination.

  • My bro says yeah!!!!...but i say who the hell has a name like rainbow worriors?????????

  • u betta believe it

  • Ps. im not a gordon hater

  • in MY opinion this season is a lil boring with the hendricks dominance,(no offence). Gordons a really good driver, but it would be interesting to see him, tony, kasey, MARK, and many of those others race the same car, same setup, same everything(kinda like iroc)I believe mark martin would come out on top because look how many wins and championships he would of won if it wasnt for his shitfire luck. Not to mention having cars that are not the best.

  • I agree

  • same here I think he should be cheered again but it's like Sr said "as long as there making noise that means your a good driver"

  • poor B.P... GO JEFF GORDON!!!

  • no, we won't be screwing Gordon. his supermodel wife will be! :) this is most DEFINITELY a great year for Jeff Gordon. heck the entire Hendrick team! GO #24!!

  • boo

    you suck

  • That

    Is

    OhSo

    True!!!

  • how bout posting that crash from michigan at the end of the vid? lmao. what a historic day ill never forget.

  • I love this, I never thought I would see video of him winning one I have only seen pictures not many videos of um races from a while back.

  • GORDON IS THE BEST!!!

  • up yours stupid gordon haters. that just goes to show u who's got the most talent in nascar, JEFF GORDON! GO JEFF! WOO HOO!

  • This is great id never thought id be able to see it. Jeff Gordon is the man and like my friend said the best guy doing what he does best. By the way do you guys think you can post a video of his charlotte win his first ever and his debut if possible

  • Why do the commentators keep saying how unbelievable it is?

  • Because it was his only his 2nd win. Usually young inexperienced guys don't win races like that.

  • yeah, on top of the fact that he was only 24, it was the first ever Indy NASCAR race and Jeff Gordon, an Indiana native, was winning, and so the crowd was wild.

  • Right. At the time you didn't have young drivers coming into the fold like that. He opened up the doors for several other young guns.

  • This is greatness. It's incredible how different the cars look nowadays. Gordon's good at winning big races. And every other race of course.

  • a legend in the making, awesome video

  • That's awesome. Thanks for putting this up.

  • thanks for posting this
