  • Muy buenos!!!!

  • @theferdevil Gracias!

  • I'm doing a report on the history of my town, and I found out that Henry Works wrote this song about his dad who grew up in my town of Lowell Vermont. It was said that mr. Works old clock stopped the minute he died, never to go again.

  • @MistahClingah Thanks for that bit of history - we appreciate your message.

  • simply great , it has been a month on sundays since i have heard that. yall keep um coming where loving it.

  • Thanks for your comment and message!

    Mac

  • how much different is playing the banjo form the guitar? i love the sound of clawhammer banjo and ive always wanted to be able to play one.

  • Two less strings to contend with - the banjo 5th string is a drone and generally doesn't need to be fretted. I had a guitar many moons ago. I only played with open tunings. A friend suggested I try the banjo - that's how they are tuned. Give it a whirl!

  • if i can get a banjo i definetly will. is it a lot simpler then it sounds? listening to all the different sounds the banjo is making makes it sound very hard.

  • It all sounds hard until you start showing yourself how to make those sounds.

  • I've played guitar for man years, but started playing banjo a few months ago.. I'd say the banjo is far more fun then the guitar, even though I like both.. Clawhammer and rolls, doesnt matter.. Banjo FTW...

  • how beautiful that was,ya made me smile the whole video, very heartfelt feeling, love playin my fiddle to this with my banjo friend,,thanks,i suscribed to ya's,,so,,keep em comin,,!lol,,happy new year may god bless~~~

  • Terrific message and comments! Thank you.

    Mac

  • fantastic

  • really nice version... thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for your comments!!

  • Nice one, I like that song.

Is she your wife? If so you're a very lucky man!

  • I love al of your videos.... just recently found them and have been watching them ever since.

P.S- If you can somehow get her voice to be audible well above the banjo i think tha it will just be pure perfection.

  • Thanks for your comments here and on "Chicken Reel" too!! All the best,

    Mac

  • It's obvious that you two have made your instruments part of yourselves. Well done!

I especially like the way that Mac just lays back and enjoys listening llike his hands are playing the music all by themselves.

  • You're welcome, and thanks again!!

  • Thanks so much for telling me what key you're doing it in, you don't know how much I appreciate it, haha. One of my favorite songs, and you two do such a good job.

  • Hi again from England

This song brings back many wonderful childhood memories.Thank you very much

    Kindest regards Concretejockey.

  • Most welcome!! Thanks for your comments!!!

  • Just a comment for Mac, I made the observation that you keep your hands off the banjo when you strum, you might have heard this before but that could cause you problems later. By the way beautiful job on the song, I really enjoyed it.

  • I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure there's no way to clawhammer with your hand anchored. You can see the worn area near the bridge where he anchors his pinky when playing bluegrass-style.

Also, just a suggestion, you guys should record a version of "Little Birdie". It's always been one of my favorite clawhammer tunes.

  • the banjoo in some parts sounded like a piano...LOL that was great

  • you guys are so into this music, i love to see that, you guys really enjoy this. I have so much respect for you 2. keep it up
