This song sounds like Christmas on an island. Not your typical snowy Christmas.. At least I read in an interview they thought this song would transplant people to a feeling of Christmas with a carribean feel to it as well. Very layered.

The singer is Yukimi Nagano. She is also on another song and video called "Summer Sun". Find it under "Koop feat. Yukimi Nagano." It's a song that really swings. She does some scat vocal improvisation backed by a vibraphone that is really beautiful. It's a great song with an uplifting feel. If you like Yukimi, do a search here on Youtube. She sings with Stateless, Little Dragon, Jafrosax, Sleepwalker and of course,Koop. Her voice is clear and smooth isn't it?

"Sade's" voice in my opinion typifies "deepness". You're right on the scat though. It's not improvised, it was obviously worked out. It was 2 am & I was tired. I had knee surgery & couldn't sleep.
