I loved this game on the SNES when I was younger. I have started playing again (on an emulator) and I have to say that, nostalgia aside, this is still a great game. The level design is brilliant and challenging and the music is some of the best there is. It has aged marvelously.

Even though this level is one of my favorites, I hate that Mimi becomes a giant and chases you throughout the whole level. She will whack you with her staff if she gets to you. So, whatever you do, keep moving. If you need a breather in the level, pause.

This game had a great sense of style and a dark moody atmosphere.

I think back then these sort of titles were taken more seriously, now if it doesn't feature a grizzly space marine, its a 'kiddy' title.

the first dkc set the standard for the series, but it was so easy to beat. DKC2 improved and the graphics were better than the original, but was more challenging to beat. (im still stuck at toxic tower, lol) . DKC3 is where RARE fucked things up, i noticed it right away with how small the sprites were, and the graphics were somewhat blurred-not as sharp & crisp as the first two games.
