They are an amazing band,I have the pleasure of knowing frank indirectly thru his half sister and although havent spoken to him for years,he lives local to me and often see him in uxbridge having coffee

Saw them at Harlow Playhouse this month, and in a word "FANTASTIC".

Having followed them from the 60's they still have it in abundance.

Good, but not as good as Mike Penders Searchers. Mike is more true to the genuine Searchers sound, plus he is the sound of the Searchers. Mike doesnt have any elctrical gadgets like Spencer James uses.

Why Did Mike Pender Leave In The 80's????

It was supposed to be for some controversial reason but it was really that he wanted to have his own group mcnally had a court action inhibiting him from using the name.

frank and john are the originals,spencer was in 1st class,been with searchers 22yrs this yr,drummer eddie roth was in 80's group liquid gold(dance yourself dizzy)been with searchers bout 8yrs,and they do stay true to original sound live,try seeing them.this from a fan of 21 yrs

I'm a little disappointed. I had heard The Searchers stayed very true to the original arrangements, but putting all these great songs in a medley (I HATE medleys!) and putting the same disco beat behind each one like Stars on 45 is bush league. These are great songs...they should be shown some respect.

The disco beat thing is only during the medley. They play all of those songs individually through the show. This, I think, is just an upbeat type of finale. I saw a show live and it was great! Gonna see them again in fact...

Of the original line up only John McNallyLead Guitar}. Frank Allan(bass Guitar} joined in 1964 so he is almost an original. Yhe other founder member Mike Pender has his own group now, Mike Penders Searchers and they are just as good.

Sorry Mike´s band is not just as good. If he wants to play the old Searchers songs then why did he leave the group? But I must admit he is a good musician but unfortunately acting a bit childish.
