I was living in San Anselmo when the snow fell early in December of 1972. We were having ourselves a snowball fight, others would build sowmen or go sledding. Snow doesn't usually fall in Marin County except for Mt. Tamalpais and other elevated areas. Van Morrison was living in the bordering town of Fairfax.
Thanks for the video. It brought back many pleasant memories. :)
the first track i'd ever heard by Van Morrison in 1974.....and STILL my favorite. I love the background, classic jazz sax during the break and bluesy guitar work. To me, he has never recorded a better peice of work. The whole HARD NOSE THE HIGHWAY album to me is great (ok, with the exception of WARM LOVE, which I despise).............
Hardnose the Highway is Van's best album by far. I received a cassette of it when it came out in 73 or 74. The female vocals, the musical phrasing, the whole deal is genius.
Most awesome. How have I, a huge Van fan, never heard this awesome track before? Weird, but thank you to Meg Griffin on XM radio for playing it recently.
I love the song, the album but as far as I could tell it isn't on cd. So thanks.

One of Van's best IMHO, and a real surprise to hear such exciting musical breaks too.
