The genre, I would have to say, is supernatural and comedy. It's an anime that makes you go, "wtf?" but in a good way! XD And yes, it does have a good ending. It's also dubbed, too.

@Animebreath actually the 2nd one isn't technically season 2 it was just parts from the manga of season one that was cut off, basically they are parts you insert in season 1. Example, in the 2nd one it says the making of the film for cultural festival but in season 1 they showed it immediately, so basically it's kind of a continuation and extra bits of episodes which are connected. Hope there would be a real season 2 ^_^

@coolguy4584 I would still recommend watching season two, just skip ahead to episode 10 then a new movie was recently released "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" the anime is actually based off of a series of light novels, and the title is so huge I doubt that KyoAni wouldn't make another season -.-
