  • Oh this is around where I live CT

  • that price would have been with the 2.5 L. Given the Wrangler's weight level, the performance would hardly be earth shattering and that engine was not known for being super tough, either. I like Sammys...not only can they climb, but the gas mileage would beat the 2.5 L, and given it's minimal advantage speed wise... I would take the Samurai for more MPGs alone.

  • Ive owned both. Stock and lifted both. and I gotta say to be completely honest the suzuki def is better on the trails. they are so small and light they just go anywhere and do anything. The short wheel base is perfect for rock crawling. My jeep on the other hand I find bottoming out over everything, and constently not making hill climbs due to weight. I wish I could say jeeps were the better rig cuz I am an American. but in truth they arnt.... :(

  • @Marzocchirider6 ummm yea ive also had both and used both, but because the jeep had vastly more power to weight it was better off road. it could make it up hills much easier than the suzuki, did your jeep have the 4 cyl? mine had the best engine of all time the 4.0 ho i6 perhaps that is why it was so much better. oh yea, and the lower gears, stock i might add. and the fact that i could comfortably take 3 friends with me

  • @tallzdatank yes it was a 6cyl fully locked axles and it still suck more than my sammy... jeep could not climb

  • i thought in 1989 jeep started to put square headlights in there Jeeps .. Unless its a later modle 88

  • @ford1979truck

in 87 they started putting in square lights. up until 95

  • Wish I could buy a brand new YJ for 9 grand these days.

  • I wish my YJ was that awsome color

  • haha everything they listed about the jeep are the reason's why I hate them hahaha just makes me love my sammy more!

  • @Marzocchirider6 Haha more horse and passenger room and better price. Sammy got owned

  • @DieselFreak94 yeah but a sammy's got a shorter wheel base and is 1000 pounds lighter. And thats what matters on the trail. hahaha not horse power and and passenger room!

  • @Marzocchirider6 The Camel Trophy would beg to differ.

  • I bet Chuck Norris drives a Jeep!

  • wish prices were still like that

  • @cdude100 prices are still like that...you can get a 1988 yj for about $8,000

  • Haha...I just looked at an 89 Jeep today...$6995. Talk about retaining value.

  • @indieelement I know right? ahaha

  • i bought one for 7000.00 20 years later

  • 8995 for a new one!? hahah i'll take a couple! =]

  • I have that jeep. Bad ass

  • i prefer my samurai but this commercial is funny XDDD!!!!!!!

  • jeep wave love the square headlights

  • Jeep, often imitated, never duplicated.

  • @2Phast4Rocket If you duplicate it, then It'll be Chinese.

  • Damn, we need some "Interweb's Troll Milk" for Maestro, hes acting like a little bitch and needs to be destroyed. I vanquish you Interweb's Troll *splashes of milk* and everyone knows that what Toyota and the other Japanese companies have to offer in terms of offroad capability. There's the FJ... wait... nah, no solid axles and weighs more than an elephant. There's um... the err... Honda CR-V? hahahaha. Maybe if they brought back the Suzuki Samurai or Toyota FJ 40 Id think about it. JEEPS RULE

  • I got a chuckle out of this: "...and you get all this at Wrangler's lowest price in years". Considering the Wrangler made its debut in 1987 and this commercial is from 1988, it was its lowest price in what...all TWO years that it had been offered up until that point? LOL

  • F*CK

  • You yanks are missing the point with terrain cars, they are suppose to be light weight and compact. Its the power/weight ratio that counts, ps american cars are too thirsty for us scandinavians.

    //Alexander, sweden

  • lol your right sweden makes the best cars, oh wait..

  • weird my car seems to work just fine, who cares what other compaires are doing

  • @skruf89 I would love to live in The Netherlands. Maybe, someday.

  • Two great trucks, but the Samurai is damn small compared to a Wrangler.

  • HA! That Wrangler made that poor Samurai look like a toy! If that Samurai toy rolled from the commercial into my house, I'd keep it!

  • no jap crap can compare to jeep

  • Yes true, the Jap is doing well, the American is going backrupt and begging for public money. Fuck you and your bankrupt Jeeps...HAHAHAHA

  • thats funny, considering the japanese companies, including Toyota have asked their government for bail outs already.....Jeep is one of the few currently profitable companies left, so please, go take your BS information and pathetic feeble mind elsewhere.

  • Wave

  • @The1965Ghost Just Expect Expensive Parts = JEEP. A Samurai is a $ 20.000 difference but mine still does more. :-) If I break an axle i need to work 2 days till i earned it back. If you break a Jeep its axle I need to work 2 weeks or so. And be serious, we've seen Jeep breaking parts a lot more than Samurais. Just a simple truth. :-)

  • @The1965Ghost Nothing at all can compare to it.

But they made the commercial look more cute than cruel, that's a rare thing when running something down..

  • @The1965Ghost

Jeeps are like tampons, every pussy needs one

  • @88zukcrawler Hahaha well everyone has their opinion. Just like for Jap cars and Jap trucks. Every pussy needs one.

  • @The1965Ghost

Lol I agree. Just thought it was funny. I personally own a Samurai, but have nothing against Jeeps at all.

  • @88zukcrawler hahaha well I was raised with a Jeep Willys so Im more towards jeep. Ive seen some of those little Samurais out roughin it before. Those are pretty compact. Could get through some tight spaces. They actually kinda remind me of the little toy cars lol

  • @The1965Ghost I have liked Jeeps since 1965. I have a Jeep now. I will always have a Jeep. There is only one Jeep. But keep your racists comments to yourself.
