  • I should start playing Black Ops like NOW!

  • holy fuck, is it just me or is the rhythm really djenty?

  • @kalmahman48 dude thats what I was thinking theres a clip of him at a NAMM booth where he plays the main "Bleed" riff so im sure he gets some huggah influence in there somehow

  • cant forget hes doing this on a 7 STRING!!! ok progression on that is just wicked wicked hard compared to standard 6 strings trust me.

  • what if loomis, abasi, cooley, govan, and broderick had a battle....?

  • @SASLEAD666 and muenzer

  • @SASLEAD666 it would be broken up by petrucci(early 90's"jesus"petrucci) or per nillson

  • @SASLEAD666 Then I would say govan FTW

  • nice, the other way round animals as leaders :)

  • I am gonna go Loomis my guitar up now.

  • My bf is like obsessed with this guy... constantly talks about him. He tries to be "better" than him. Psh that's gonna take a miracle. Never really listened to Jeff Loomis until now, and holy fuck this shit is amazing.

  • He's prob the best shredder out there. Some of the coolest progressions I've ever heard and he plays the tastiest stuff over them. You also never know whats comin next.

  • Jeff Loomis, never heard of him until now, but whoever he is...is awesome! Hail LOOMIS on guitars, absolutly BRILLANT MUSICIANSHIP...

  • Yes! 4:00 - 4:26 my favourite part

  • @stokamachoke That's not fair. Atleast compare loomis to christian muenzer he played for necrophagist and is lightyears better then suicmez.

  • @dimebad At least someone mentioned Christian Muenzner. That guy is badass! Go listen to his solo album and the stuff he did with Obscura!

  • @HandofMisery Oh dude, I love Obscura!

  • Mind - blown.

  • Fukn blew my head of

  • speed metal meets djent and this is born

  • Foly Huck!

  • Oh fuck. The intensity made me stiff. Jeff Loomis is a freaking monster on guitar.

  • wow listen to that shred, i think we know who gave their soul to the devil for guitar skillz, jeff loomis fuckin rocks !

  • fucking amazing!!

  • How the fuck is this guy not famous yet?! He makes me wanna turn my guitar into a coffee table!

  • @NathanVerdalci he is famous, very famous :P haha

  • @NathanVerdalci ....umm he's really fucking famous?

  • who is the fucking drummer? MACHINE fucking sick

  • @marywanna1000 It's ex Nevermore drummer Mark Arrington. Currently in a project called Degree Absolute I think... Jeff's next drummer will be Dirk Verbeuren from Soilwork. Also a decent player;)

  • Jeff Loomis. <3 This guy has easily been the biggest influence on guitar for me and i barely discovered him and Nevermore a year ago. Kill me for joining so late :(

  • me and the guitar player are dateing

  • Thumbs up if you seriously considered quitting guitar after witnessing this.

  • @TheJoeread16 This album actually is what caused me to make the solo album i am now, i need practice to get this good though

  • Once upon a time I was playing this song :/

now i cant even play rhythm :(

  • one fav songs ever

  • He said in an interview how much he really dug Jason Becker & Marty Friedman's 80s shrapnel albums... you can really tell :)

  • jeff loomis has gods for dinner lol

  • @reign17gooch I know his former teacher. :o

  • Comment removed

  • @fearghak its because no-one has the guts to hate on jeff loomis video, because he is so good he has so many fans, so they would just be ignored

  • he's basically the modern Jason Becker on this album. I feel so foolish for not have bought this yet.

  • The Devil once challenged Jeff Loomis to a guitar duel, the Devil converted to Christianity afterwards lol

  • Man this song, is just everything good, it shreds like hell, and it brings out all the emotion of a real song, HOW THE HELL DOES LOOMIS DO THAT!?

  • awesome...

  • Don't practice... this is impossible :)!

  • What sort of training has this guy had?

  • @Biake22 Training? No, He's the Master at the Jedi-Ninja guitar school!!!

  • Jeff Loomis is fucking awesome

  • CLEARLY, if anyone still thinks Jimi Hendrix was the "best guitarist that ever lived" has got to be a fucking retard

  • @metalguitarZomg2 its that jimi hendrix had absolutely no influences

  • @metalguitarZomg2 Damn straight, honestly i never ever thought jimi was good at all. haha

  • wow awesome stuff i have to check out this Jeff Loomis! He totally ROCKS!

  • Holy shit....Jaw Dropping......O....O

  • @hobbyhorsehandmedown ur praising him or criticizing him??

  • this is just ridiculous, he's got a new instrumetal coming out soon too.

  • Comment removed

  • Holy Fuck!! I love that I can go on to a Jeff Loomis video and see people agreeing with each others disagreements (if that makes sense), instead of worthless name-calling. It gives me hope for Youtube and mankind Yet !!!

  • Yngwie Malmsteen set a 9 dislikes XD

  • Sick. Jason Becker and Shawn Lane still my favourites though :)

  • jeff loomis may be the best guitarist ever, the only one who may hold a candle to him is ingvey malmsteen, who do yall think is better, i mean he is influened by ingvey alot

  • @kylepardueish i hear alot of Jason Becker influence in his music. much more than Malmsteen.

  • Comment removed

  • @psycrophagist731 Totally agree with that.

  • @kylepardueish no offense to malmsteen but i prefer loomis more, hes more of a metal virtuoso instead of a virtuoso on guitar like malmsteen. but i think loomis could take him, to me all of malmsteens sweeps get a little repetative

  • yeah, no offense taken,i think loomis is way more badass, and ingvey has a lot of just regular classical influence, it just sounds like some london silly nanny crap but its all the same, still badass but gets boring, loomis is like some fuckin classical evil geneous master,he plays regular classical, and metal classical, and i hear alot of kinda blues and rock kind of mixed in his solos in this album

  • @kylepardueish yeah i can respect that

  • satan would not be able to compete: the dark parts of this would rip his arse open with a black hole of br00tality and the beautiful parts would flabergast the demonic cock-sucker

  • jeff loomis is messing with satan!!

  • JEFF LOOMIS JUST RAPED THE DEVIL!!!!!!!

  • Badass

  • parents though a demonic entity entered the house when I turned this on.

  • showed this to my mom. she kicked me out.

  • Fucking mindblowing

  • I died when I heard this.

  • The whole album is EVIL

  • What a beautiful masterpiece.

  • Uh... All right... let me go back to PRACTICE ... NOW!

  • Satan on rhythm. Jesus on Drums.

  • @njskate4death So you're saying that Jeff Loomis should be on both the drums and rhythm... Well, might just work :)

  • @njskate4death its probably loomis on everything lol

  • @njskate4death im picturing this in my head and can't stop friggin laughing. bahaha, imagine their faces when jeff rips out the solo riff at 0:35

  • @njskate4death If I am not mistaken Jeff Loomis provided both the drumming and guitar for this album which makes him a double God!

  • @dee58276 thats incorrect sir/maam. a drummer named Mark Arrington played the drums on this album. he was also Nevermore's first drummer before Van Williams! Nevertheless, Jeff Loomis is still numero uno! :D

  • @dee58276 Nope Mark Arrington did, but Loomis did bass and keyboards too lol.

  • 4:00 .......

  • is it me, or is he the next generation of Marty Friedman?!

  • The pope must be trying to write Loomis into the New Testament.

How can this guy NOT be the savior?

  • i get more enjoyment form listening to the song than reading peoples' opinions...

  • THNX FOR TICKLING MY BRAIN !

  • I've got a new favorite guitarist :D

  • Fucking great!!!!! those melodies really make my ear happy!

  • pretty fucking bad ass

  • thats the song that should have been played during lou battle in guitar hero 3, it would have been much more epic and much more harder

  • 3:18 - Jeff Loomis is the only person to get REAL SOUL out of lickage THAT fast!

  • 3:28 Here comes the Eargasm.....

  • so amazing

  • to me at the end it sounds alot like what i would have expected marty friedmans next metal album after dragons kiss, this song would have fit in that lineup perfectly

  • @gelatonim I know, its insane and awesome, i tried it, to get it clean at that speed takes a great deal of precision.

  • not bad for a completely self-taught guitarist \m/

  • 3:18 This is the most hardcore sweeping I 've ever heard!

  • Thumbs up for a duel of guitar between jeff loomis and the devil!

  • @freminick123

Jeff Loomis v. Tosin Abasi would be better haha

  • @freminick123 Jeff Loomis shouldn't be challenging himself... Could cause the entire universe to collapse!

  • @freminick123 I love that comment. Its soooo what everyone is thinking lol

  • @freminick123 a duel between jeff loomis and the devil? hell no, the devil as send him on this planet for a reason, its to not play against him, didnt you know that?

  • @freminick123 Dude, a guitar duel between Jeff Loomis and the Devil would be more pathetic then if God came down and beat a homeless person with a stick. Jeff Loomis would murder Satan. ;o)

  • @freminick123 It's useless ... everybody know Jeff'll kick devil's ass !

  • @freminick123 that wouldnt be fair to the little tike...jeff would send him to his room with no dinner

  • @freminick123 I could imagine the devil from that Tenacious D movie versus Jeff Loomis and the devil getting murdered.

  • @freminick123 no point, the devil wouldn't last a minute

  • @EmoGuitarSceneKidxP i agree the devil wouldn't even last a goddamn minute!

  • @freminick123 I don't understand... is he going to be dueling himself?

  • @freminick123 and tosin abasi

  • Epicus Maximus

  • what tuning is this? it sounds heavier than his normal stuff

  • @ILoveallguitars He is using a 7 String guitar thats why it sound heavier than usual. His tuning is

    1) D# 2) A# 3) F# 4) C# 5) G# 6) D# 7) A#

  • @Ntgnikoskekmanbur I know its a sevn but it doesnt sound like its B Flat standard. it sounds like he is in Drop A flat. and he always uses seven strings except for one song on the newest nevermore album he uses a drop D 6 string

  • @ILoveallguitars Its the drums that are making it sound heavier. There's a much more defined bass drum in this than in nevermore. He's still using a seven string tuned down half a step.

  • ok you fucking retards, ever heard of trolling? it's when people say shit that's supposed to provoke you stupid ass nigger faggots...jesus christ get a fucking brain..dumbasses..

  • I shall proceed to clean up my brain matter off the wall. My mind was just blown.

  • i think jeff isnt perfoming some crazy music theory but some CRAZY guitar skills here.

Jeff , fuck the rest DOT

  • @abrookes1985

Choosing not to respond to that by just saying, you're not welcome here. Dont come to a video to argue and as another note, I've reported you. I suggest everyone else here do the same. GTFO

  • @stiltonzilla Oh chill the fuck out and listen to the music.

  • @abrookes1985

Why are you arguing over the internet? Over a screen and not face to face. It's cowardly and I doubt you would half of the stuff you say if you didn't have the anonymous security of the world wide web. Get a better hobby then coming online and fighting with people, cause in the end, these people are here to enjoy the music (as I am too). No-1 wants a cyber war so don't go warmongering where you aren't wanted because no-1 wants to hear it. Your opinion is neglect

  • @Sunderlanding A different opinion would be fine if not formed in an offensive childish way, which abrookes1985's most certainly was. Had he simply opted to say that he didn't care for shred guitar that's one thing. To try to make everyone else feel foolish for liking it and slam my age on top of it was unacceptable.

Having a different opinion is absolutely fine, being an ass about it to everyone to the point of being offensive is going to get a response. It's that simple.

  • Medic Ubered a Bonked Scout.

  • @abrookes1985 And really? someone being my age and having an opinion is sad? Are you really that delusional?

  • @abrookes1985 So I go back to my original question: If you don't like it why are you bothering to post? What purpose does this possibly serve.

As for my age (42) this only explains the wealth I know about the music, bands, and musicians involved. Having performed live in a band and continuing to do so gives me a better perspective on how that process works. But even that boils down to opinion, which everyone has their right to.

What makes your opinion better than the people like this song?

  • @achromat666 I don't even know what you guys were arguing about, but I'll weigh in anyway. The point of a negative comment is to express that you don't like it and why. Too many people on this page seem to think that you shouldn't be allowed to post a negative comment. Why? Does everything have to be positive? Most people could use some criticism rather than people just endlessly saying how awesome it is without thinking it through. If you don't like his post counter it don't just slam it.

  • @abrookes1985 Do you even like the guitarist? Or are you going out of your way to crap on something you don't care for? This is a guitarist playing quite well in a movement that started decades ago leaning heavily on the neoclassical. At least if you're going to post be constructive and say something other snide remarks and being childish to actual fans.

As a Sanctuary, Nevermore, and Jeff Loomis fan, I think it's some of the best stuff he's done. Do you have a real reason to not enjoy it?

  • @abrookes1985 Yup, a solo that you can't play. In case you haven't noticed, this is his single act aside from Nevermore, what the fuck else would you expect it to be? No one wants to listen to 32nd notes with a drum track for an entire album, the solos are what people like

  • @abrookes1985 well if that's not your cup of tea, why are you here? btw, which fast, distorted solo? =P

  • @abrookes1985 What did you expect?

  • Jeff Loomis Is why I love Metal.

  • 3:17 - 3:32

    The coolest part!

  • An awesome animation for this song would be a little demon building something in his workshop hehe :)

  • dont like the part 6:17

  • 3:55 to 4:26 -boner

  • I love how the comments on most of Jeff Loomis' solo stuff has all these comments of how all these other awesome guitarists suck. /sarcasm

I really shouldn't have to explain how amazing Loomis' guitar playing can be. I also shouldn't have to tell everyone the above fact doesn't make every other guitar player on Earth suck. This does mean everyone should step it up though. Great stuff this is. Never heard anything like it.

  • 5:48 ... the best riff I've ever heard

  • 4:39 - 4:52

    Holy shit

  • i sense some desert island interim inspiration, good ol' cacophony

  • i love how megadeath wanted him as lead and he said no. and hes from Wisconsin! When ever anyone talks shit about wisconsin who is also a metalhead, is terribly hypocritical.

  • Jeff is the present for the future young guitar players around the globe

  • MEGAJEFF IS HERE !

  • Magnificent !

  • This is the best song in my opinion ever created by Jeff Loomis. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!!!!!!

  • i prefer Cashmere Shiv, in my opinion has the best solo ever made, but yeah!!! hell its so awesome this song!

  • @deanguitarist124 well no i would say race against disaster is better but then again this song kicks major ass holes so im conflicted

  • Every time Jeff Loomis plays, the world stops spinning because it wants to listen.

  • Never paid this much attention to this song, now its just about my fav off the album

  • i'm going to comment about the seven dumbass that thumbed down and i'm going to get thumbs up, why? just watch and you will see

  • the riff at the end kills everything on its way!

  • 6 people can go suck dicks. Fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!

  • 6 people can't Tech.

  • Jeff Loomis's genre should be called intstra-metal.

  • dude where can you download this song?

  • I know Jeff was awesome but when I hear this I know he is a Guitar god :O

  • JEFF THE GUITAR-GOD

  • 1:45 - 2:09 made this song even godlier

  • this is one of the best songs ive ever heard. like its near perfect

  • god this is so boring.

  • TIL what zero order phase actually means.

  • The four people who disliked this had their faces melted so bad that they couldnt see the "like" button anymore:)

  • i am assuming the four people who disliked this are old people. :/

  • 4 people want the terrorists to win

  • @mminimalismm i kinda do & i didnt vote down
