That's the struggle of weighing what is good for an individual with what is good for a group. (Made even more hard to deal with considering we have had people with severe defects make big contributions to science/music/etc)
From a parents perspective it can be very hard to choose to let go of a child, even more so sometimes from someone separate from the situation (since they have no risk in it, they don't have to take care of the child).

Anyway we do a lot of messed up things in our modern world today, who are we to judge these people? At least offering them a peaceful way to end peoples lifes could bring pain to a minimum. I wouldnt put on earth a baby who i know would be severely handicapped. It would be unfair to the child. In our modern world we make fun of people with handicaps on a daily basis. In comedy and everyday life.

That's sick. The modern world is enlightened, and recognises that disabilities are not so bad that such individuals are incapable of living good lives. Allowing "retards" (as you so despicably put it) to have sex is fair, not wrong. It doesn't harm anyone, it's pleasurable and fun for them.

Of course, the option to have an abortion would always be open to them. But enforced, mandatory sterilisation or abortions for disabled couples is backwards, barbaric and reminiscent of the despicable eugenics policies of the early 20th century.
