  • Silence.

  • Whoo, Snape. Teachin' them potions LIKE A BOSS.

  • This so should have stayed in the film. Tummy. Love that snape

  • Remember when the house cup was one of the more important things in their lives as opposed to keeping themselves alive? Yeah.. I remember those days. :3

  • "I can teach you how to bottle fame...."

    Harry: Don't need it! xD

  • OMG that was awesome... totally should have been in the movie! Oh, and Alan Rickman is a sexy beast... that voice... *dies*

  • @gryff394 that's exactly why they took it out TOO MUCH SEXINESS is bad for your health ...... ALAN RICKMAN is just too hot for his own good

  • OMG that was awesome... totally should have been in the movie!

  • what idiot pressed dislike ?

  • @TheSnapeseverus The Dark Lord.

  • @TaekwondoPiano wouldn't he press like though ? Because Snape made a fool of Harry ?

  • His voice, omg I'm dying.

  • His voice bewitches my mind and ensnares my senses.

  • @TeamEdwardx94 Agreed!

  • love how i knew the answer to all of the questions :')

  • OMIGOSH THEY SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED THIS :(

"Put your hand down you silly girl" LOL

  • I'm doing this for a monologue (did I spell that right?) for a play :3 It's awesome.

  • They should have never cut this scene!

  • I'm soo luckyy <33

my teacher have THE SAME voice

    XDD in Poland XDD

    lucky meee :D

  • Freaking he**!

That's it. I am NOT forgiving Warner Bros. for cutting this scene short. NOT in this lifetime.

  • @ancam001 i totally agree! This was bloody hilarious X'''''D

  • it took harry 6 films to find out what a bezel was, and then saved rons life!

  • I love, love, love alan rickman. best actor ever

  • I'm Snape... and I'll make a fool out of any student that dares to take notes in my fucking class!

  • i hate that they changed the title form Philosophers stone it sounds so much better

  • I love this! I was an extra in this scene (back of my head by the cauldron between 12-18 seconds, the ginger kid). It was so much fun, and Alan Rickman is such a great actor. Went back to Lacock Abbey where this scene was filmed (in the cloister section) and it is so odd- they really transformed it for the film!

  • i still don't get why they called it the philosopher's stone originally. was nicholas flamel a philosopher???? and sorcerer's stone just has a better ring to it, simply put.

  • @zuzu2593 That was the original name J.K. Rowling gave it. Philosopher is linked with alchemy. The stone is an actual legend. Overall, philosopher makes so much more sense, but Scholastic thought it was best to change it to make it understandable to American readers.

  • @dancelikewitherwings ok, i live in america, and everyone here knows what the word "philosopher" means. no, american is not THAT dumb, for you information.

  • @zuzu2593 Dude, I live in America too. I was born and raised in Florida... I was just explaining why Scholastic did it, not implying that I felt that way.

  • @dancelikewitherwings woops, i meant to say america is not that dumb. typo lol, but that happens to everyone

  • i always feel as if alan rickman's singing 0:05-0:09

  • @LacamisaEesti OMG, same here! me and my friend always joke about that exact line in school. we put a tune on it and say it really fast tho haha.

  • That explains why Harry knew how to save Ron in HP 6.

  • How come they didn't do the house points/house cup in any of the movies after the first? I don't think it's in the books after the first or second either, is it?

  • why the hell did they cut this? It's brilliant!!!

  • why didnt he keep that its hilarious what harry says

  • I bet Snape is screaming of pain when he looks at Harry's eyes :(

  • I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses...

I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even score with hot babes.

    Harry: What?

  • brilliant... just freaking brilliant :D

  • I wish they didn't cut this. What they left in was so tense and its obvious where the scene goes--if you read the book, you were just waiting for --"Why don't you ask Hermione--she seems to know" (forget exact words)

  • Was Snape born in a barn?! I love the grand entrance but if I was a student in his class, it'd really bug me that he leaves the door open!

  • 1:10 snape does a curtsy

  • Harry is a BAMF!! lol

  • I wish they didn't cut these scenes out of the movie. They give the movie more sense. Thumbs up if you think they should have kept these in! Silence...i kill you lol.

  • I wish they didn't cut these scenes out of the movie. They give the movie more sense. Thumbs up if you think they should have kept these in!

  • they changed the name but the sorcerers stone is the stone in alchemy that gives you immortality

  • If someone stared at me the way Snape stared at Harry, i would be avoiding them at all costs.

  • ...And Gryffindors note that five points will be taken from your house for YOUR CLASSMATE'S CHEEK. Ohh I love how he says that. And, if looks could kill, Harry wouldn't have had to worry about Voldemort. lol

  • Awwww.. I forgot how cute they were as children :3

  • What's amazing is that the things Snape tells Harry from his VERY FIRST POTIONS CLASS have a HUGE effect later on in the series, even saving Ron's life at one point.

  • I know Snape is being a dick no matter what in this scene, but seriously? He didn't even know magic existed like 4 days before that class lol. How was he supposed to know those answers?

  • @Giveemhellkid2424 i think he assumed he knew, just like hagrid did but yeah i agree lol

  • *sings* Snape, Snape, Severus Snape.

  • Put your hand down you silly girl

  • severus,if you could put a stopper in death, why couldn't you stop your death?

  • @isingstuff123 lol, probably didn't have such a potion on his person at the time.

  • All of the Potter movies need to be re-released in the future as "extended cuts", just like what was done with Lord Of The Rings.

  • @wclaurence Thumbs Up if you think that THEY NEED to make us, the fans, extended cuts of movies 3 and 4 since they didn't do it for the ultimate editions this year?!? they cut a hell lot of scenes out of Goblet of Fire. there are pics online of those cut scenes.

watch this link to view all of those scenes; I do not own this video by any means: Harry Potter Unreleased Deleted Scenes Photos (Updated).

  • alan rickman and i share a birthday

  • snape is a lady

  • Love Alan Rickman as Snape! He's the reason why I love Snape so much despite him being an asshole! But thats whats so lovable about him!!! <3

  • he reminds be of a bat when he folds his arms

  • @Songsrus14 JK Rowling states he looks like an overgrown bat lol

  • is there a deleted scene with rik mayall as peeves anywhere????

  • Alan Rickman sounds so normal, celebritish and clean. Snape is the opposite :L

  • this was already in the movie.. i dont see how its a cut scene

  • After 2 minutes is not in the movie

  • Severus Snape was the best character introduction ever in Harry Potter

  • This scene is where I got my youtube name.

    :}

  • lol nice. Too bad the newer potter films lack the charm of the early ones like this one.

  • @TheVideoSuperCrew

yea like how after the third one they fail to mention house points at all :(

  • @SillyIncantations Cool! Me like.

  • draco is so cuuuute *-*

  • You are right. I think they mention this in the book but deleted it. Krystal

  • Alan Rickman is a beyond brilliant casting choice Snape. He sounds and plays the part so freaking awesomely!

  • Yes, he's the perfect Snape. Always how I imagined Snape.

  • where can i download this video? :)

  • Do you know how hard it would be to keep my hands away from my pants during this class? I'd fuck up potions just to get detention and show up in full bondage gear.

  • @spagerbot Lol I've just had a vision of a load of fangirls (me included) sat in Snape's detention, flirting with him like mad

  • @GothicAnnamal

You'd never get out of detention lol

  • @jennyinthepark I hope not ;)

  • he has such a cute little voice!

  • for a moment i thought you meant alan rickman ;)

  • well actually no, it's philosopher's stone. they changed the title in the american version, but everywhere else it's philosopher's stone. jk rowling didn't want them to but she let them anyways. i guess they thought americans were too stupid to understand what philosopher means.

  • AMEN!

  • it's also Sorcerers Stone in Canada to idiot. And im American

  • no it's not actually. i live in canada and it's Philosopher's Stone here. i think it's just in america that it's Sorcerer's Stone.

  • Well, i read once it is. It may be like that in Torondo or another big vity in canada.

  • Actually it's philosopher's stone in Canada too. Some might have the americian version because Canada is their closest neighbour.

  • Incorrect. It's Philospher's Stone in Canada. Someone pointed out the change to "Sorceror's Stone" in US was more of a marketing/business reason, I am inclined to agree with that.

  • Yea, and because of the bastardized American version every scene that mention the stone had to be shot twice so the American's wouldn't get pissed with the change. -_-

  • I think it's got to do more with the Philosopher's Stone being more recognizable to those familiar with alchemy and fiction having to do with alchemy, and it isn't very widely known or popular in America. So more than likely, the title was changed to "Sorcerer's" because it would attract a wider audience, thus increasing revenue. Nothing to do with stupidity of Americans. Anyone with a basic grasp of business & marketing can see that.

  • @Sabrina7722772 Actually, the American editor thought Sorcerer gave a more magical feel or something. At least that's what my Dan Radcliffe biography book says >_>

  • @Sabrina7722772 what's the american title?

  • @humanityforhumans

    The 'sorcerers stone"

  • Comment removed

  • @Sabrina7722772 well that just sums the americans up then

  • @Sabrina7722772 I guess you're too stupid to capitalize proper nouns and the beginning of sentences.

    -Love,

    The 'Dumb Americans'

  • american right? note tht the book was written by a british author and the film made in britain with british actors, crew etc. The book is originally called Philosopher's stone. JKR re-wrote the book for americans as some words are slightly different such as u say boogers, we say bogies etc. she also re-titled it for the american audience. but it is actually philosophers stone

  • She changed some words in the american version? wow that sucks. I mean "sorcerer's" isn't that bad but she actually changed some words?

"Bogies" sounds much better than "boogers". If you're gonna read a british book, then keep it british! It's wayyy better like that.

  • yeah :) unfortunately most americans wouldnt think that way would they? and some of our different words ppl might not have understood so well maybe? but yeah "bogies" does sound way better than "boogers"

  • @crazysk8guy1000 @Sabrina7722772 I still don't get why they changed it in America. I'm sure that little kids in America are just as capable as British kids of asking what a philosopher is, if they don't know(?)

Do Americans talk about a 'Sorcerer's Stone' with regards to alchemy then?

  • @GothicAnnamal I've just read a post (@ Chrissii1985)that answers my question. I suppose alchemy is more associated with European folklore than American. I don't think it's fair to brand Americans as 'stupid' because they're either less familar with European based folklore than we are, or because American marketers make a weird decision to change the name.

  • How cute are the kids in this scene! I feel sorry for little Harry when Snape's being mean and Harry looks up and blinks. How can Snape be so heartless!

Still, he (|Snape) does look particularly sexy in this scene!
