I once played this piece for wedding and I was reprimanded
because according to the critic this was only used for commencement
exercises. This foolish man never realized Elgar also adopted this for
weddings.

I used to play only the slower march section of this for high school graduations at the Catholic school where I worked from 1977-1986; it was on an awful Saville, but I opened it up pretty good.
