Making textures blocky does not automatically make new games look old. You need to change the shaders, reduce the polygon count like crazy, and pretty much not use any technique discovered in the last 10 years.

turn on full bright turn off all dynamic lights change the portal render depth to 0 and remodel everything to be much much lower res and it would actuqlly work on the n64 assuming you had the expansion pack and used modern flash memory for save games on your cartrige. yes i kn ow this isnt on the n64.

@GmanIsMe100 Actually, the N64 could probably "hold" a physics engine, its just that no games had an engine capable of physics at the time of the n64. HL2 was one of the first games with a true physics engine, coming out in '04.

The engine has to calculate the movement of players and objects, the collisions between objects and the world, the rotation of unbalanced objects, the force on objects by the player or bullets hitting it, the way the particles from bullet impacts, portals, or fields behave, plus create "physics bubbles" in the area around each portal to ensure things stay consistent on either side. It's not the most advanced physics around, but the 64 couldn't handle it.
