Awesome! Thank you for posting this. So many genres and styles were used by Bowie on this album. This was my first listen and I heard what would become Goldfrapp and later I heard a little Black Sabbath!
a brilliant album in all sorts of ways...amazing to think that it only sold about 5 copies when it was released! still, hunky dory - six months later - was even better.
I'll play at times and people will say "who is this anyway" when I tell them I usually get a "REALLY holy shit!" I don't think people relalized how much Bowie really rocked out back in the day. Mick Ronson was the MAN may he rest in piece!
@Johnnywhamo Great stuff - I wonder how many people who thought that the Nirvana version was rockin' ever knew what music sounded like before they were born and invented everything morose.
@kennwolin LMAO too much! I'm sure a lot of kids think The Man Who Sold..... is actually a Nirvana tune! but I guess we can't hack on em too much, as they say, hire a teenager while they still know everything! lol!
@SirCambertHotJam Hold on, to say it's his best album BY FAR is a bit much. He's had so many great albums. This might be his best, very possibly his heaviest. But what about Lodger, Low, Station To Station, Ziggy Stardust, Hunky Dory and Alladin Sane?
I'k wish i took better care of my albums i had most of these LOL hot attics and vinyl doesn't get along, the money these could be worth, just like baseball cards had shoe boxes of them.

Bowie was in his heavy metal period here. It's sort of like Black Sabbath.
