  • is this out yet, or another failed dream?

  • The recently released "Defender of the Crown" is the Amiga Emulator. Log in to your Iphone with WinSCP and find the library, you will see the two .ADF file there! I could change it to Simcity and then loaded succesfully! Unfortunatly this version does not support any joystick or keyboard, so you can play only with very few games.

  • Hmmm, Stunt Car Racer using iPhone controls. That would have to be close to impossible to do without falling off the track. lol. Would still probably get it though ! :o)

I see Defender of the Crown is available in the Apple Store as a standalone app. Wonder if they're going to do this with all of them?

  • Imagine playing Frontier on your iPhone! It's obvious that we will have to pay for the "roms".

  • Wonder if this will be released? Hope so. :/

  • ok, and now? when it wil be released.I think it will never come out. :(

  • any news about the release?

  • hi, a release date plaseeeeee lol . France want your iAmigaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Any news please? Or something public beta testing version?

  • Sounds doesnt match with video.(sound little before video) i hope it will good on final version. Very good. I buy it when it will launch.if apple doesnt want , go on Cydia store !!!

  • I don't see that being able to insert your own DF0: and DF1: disk images is going to be allowed in the final version as that will break the rule that meant that the C64 emulator has prepacked games in it.

  • OMG AN AMIGA ON THE IPHONE, woooooooow I have to have this, that's fantastic!!!!!!

Please, tell me it works on iPhone 3G!

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!

i wil take the iphone only for that reason!!!! :))))

    AMIGA.....for ever

  • I'm Crying here...

  • Amiga rocks. However the "fat finger" control system doesn't work. I hope the ipad version moves the controls to a black border area. Would be much more playable.

  • That's just great!

  • Amiga's graphics and sound still are pretty amazing after nearly 20 years!

  • OMG!!!! I dont believe what I'm seeing and hearing!!!

  • Oh, I'm sorry, I appear to have just cum.

  • @richardmaudsley77 contacted the IP owners, such as Cinemaware. We are still in talks with others, but everything is licensed, including the Amiga ROMs.

  • @richardmaudsley77 ...and all out GPL'd code is available on GitHub under my name, scarnie. I'm a good citizen™ in the O/S world and have contributed a lot of code over the years.

  • Cool! Although I really can't imagine playing any of these games without my trusty joystick ... but if/when this all makes it to Android, I'll probably at least play around with it for a while, just for old-times' sake, you know.... :-)

  • @richardmaudsley77 it won't be questionable once you see the code :) Unfortunately, Cyclone is not commercial friendly, and ironically not a valid license for inclusion in UAE. Regardless, Cyclone does not compile under Apple's compilers, and FAME/C is too slow. I ended up with a hybrid of the two, and averages 1.5x faster than strait C, and in some cases nearly 2x faster.

  • Omg awesome :O

Do it for symbian too plzzzzz ;)

  • @richardmaudsley77 shows a complete lack of understanding of the GPL. How is that any different to TiVo, Tom Tom, LinkSys, Apple and all the others that legitimately profit from GPL code? Manomio will be open sourcing the entire thing, so the community will benefit from their work, including the 100's of hours they spent on an iOS compatible 68000 CPU.

  • Wow! Awesome work, can't wait to see the finished product!

  • How awesome is that? I'm getting nostalgic. Can't wait for this emulator. Let alone for these incredible cool soundtracks. Thumbs up!

  • Cool apps like this make me so sad that Apple will probably never stick a physical d-pad on the sides of an iPod/phone/whatever. I won't touch anything arcade without one. Oh well, back to stupid solitaire and puzzle apps it is I guess.

  • I can`t believe! I was waiting this for ages!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is so impressive! And showing Virus running really gives you an idea how fast the emulation is. Virus stressed the Amiga to its limit.

Almost wish I had an iPhone now. An iPad version coming maybe? Or one for andriod so it could run on other tablets?

Looks like the controls can be a bit funky, cursor key type control where today we'd just use the whole mouse control paradigm.

    Colour me impressed.

  • Wow! Battle Squadron was one of my faves. What about Blood Money, Magic Pockets, and Speedball? Ooh this is gonna be so cool :-)

  • @twalker294 Oops..should have watched the whole video before commenting -- just saw Speedball.

  • @HijackingAsian This is an AMIGA emulator, not your Nintendo toy.

  • I just got a raging boner because of this...

    is that bad or good?

  • Wow this brings back some memories! The amount of time I spent on my Amiga 500...

Defender of the Crown, changing English history

Joan of Arc, keeping France English or kicking them out!

    New Zealand story.. wow

    IK + legendary.

    and so many more.

And Amiga music was so great and catchy. Really.

  • PSYGNOSIS ! man i miss those guys...

  • FUCK YES!!!!

  • All the great amiga games !!! the best !

  • I am crying now... Happy tears.

  • "Welcome to Battle Squadron!" \o/ Amiga ftw!
