Airbus 320 New Bacolod Silay Airport Landing ILS 03

I really wish that there is a direct flight from New York to Bacolod/Silay Airport. I really hate passing thru Manila. Who cares about Manila. I really feel safe in Bacolod compare to Manila. Oh i really miss Bacolod City my hometown.

Iloilo airport looks nice than Bacolod-Silay airport...

you could fly it visually and sometimes it is done. but remember it is a 64 ton vehicle moving at close to 200km per hour and you want to stop it on a strip of concrete 1.9km long so using all available aids is prudent

Nice video pilotokoto. The runway extension has been talked about even before the opening of the airport. Cong. Monico P. got the approval of the President on this. By the way is the tower freq still 118.8 ? Does it have a full ILS meaning both localizer and glideslope with an outer marker? Love the approach lights (compared to the old airport.)

thats good news i just hope they don't make it narrower than the runway like the old bacolod airport. yup 118.8 and full ils rwy03, the approach passes over the old bacolod airport adding a bit of nostalgia....

yes the VOR was transferred to the new Bacolod/Silay airport. If ur flying the approach for R/way 21 u'd probably fly over Victorias

yes i agree the rainbow is very colourful and yes the runway is good and new and also the terminal building is modern standards and its also very conveniently located for silay city center

guys what you are saying may be true, but the video is about that rainbow you see out the windshield... the rain... and landing a vehicle weighing roughly 64tons moving at 255km/hr on a strip of concrete 2kms long. this runway is still a lot better than the old one.

regarding 777cpts comment i agree they should have made the airport runway to a higher international standard but the problem was in the Planning office In Silays City, they told me a long time before they started constructing the airport that the size would remain small perhaps there was insufficient money available from the Japan based company who financed it from the start.?

I believe there is enough space for a taxiway. However in my opinion it seems not to be viable at this point because of the current capacity of the terminal (up to three planes utilizing all the tubes at one given time).

The Mayor of Silay City, Oti is planning to extend the runway by a further 500 meters to attract larger international planes,hopefully they will build a proper taxi way.I personally think the runway is too short at this time, as soon as my flight arrived on 27 January 08 i noticed the PAL plane was screaming on its brakes,so adding to the runway 500 meters would definately make a big difference

The designers of the new Bacolod/Silay airport should have made the length of the runway to International standards when the airport & runway was being constructed.

the mayor of Silay, Oti is planning to extend the runway a further 500 meters, i was able to have met him during a govenmental orientation meeting 2 weeks ago and also they are proposing to construct a new Silay City plus a light rail transit to connect Silay airport to Bacolod city!

Yeah shame! They always brag our newly opened airports as int'l. Yet planes always bactracks coz theres no taxiway. Gikurakot tingali

Nice video, Shame there isn't a taxiway at the end of r/way 03 that way u don't have to backtrack just like u did at the old Bacolod city airport
