South Africa has much bigger economy and foreign investment than Ethiopia. But Ethiopia is catching up fast but we still have a long way to go.

South Africa can be compared with the so called BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China). That is because they have a very strong export oriented economy.

What makes Ethiopia better is most businesses are owned by Ethiopians and there is virtually no violence in the country compare to South Africa and the likes.

Inappropriate song... at least Haile Selassie cared about Ethiopian traditions when he modernized the country. Look at the architecture. If someone tell me "it's in NY or Shangai" I would believe him. I always thought we, Ethiopians, could combine modernization with our traditions. And what better way to express it than architecture, something the whole world is going to see.

Eventhough I´m against ze present Ethio govr´mnt politics in many things,ppl should not criticize it blindly simply 4 zey hate it becuse of different reasons.The mega industrial&agricultural developments,feeder roads, irrigation&hydro electric power dams constructions almost on all great rivers&lakes(ON SOME OF THEM 2-3 DAMS ON A RIVER AT ONCE) through out the country should be admired.Idon´t know what ze other options are to fight against drought,famine&povourty in general.
