When you get to the part where you kill Andross and he shouts "if I go down" blah, blah you know the rest...play the second phase of the Sonic Colours final boss music. It goes PERFECTLY.

If you can get Brainy Andross to teleport once, you've won. When he teleports, he teleports behind you, facing away. Right when he starts disappearing, do a U-turn. You'll have a clear shot at his cerebellum. And from what I've seen, if you just keep shooting him, he'll teleport again. Repeat this process until you win. This is a handy way to win even if you've lost your wings.
Next time you face andross in the brain form and as soon as he get ready to release his eyes shoot a bomb at him and if you pass him do a loop and shoot at the back of his head as fast as you can! A very quick kill! Let me know if it works out for you! Fox out! LOL!

@concordat Well I don't think your intent was specific to taking Andrew down with that flurry of lasers... he just happened to be at the right distance from you that you could see his entire path in a loop or U-turn. Even if you didn't take Wolf out first, it is necessary to say that taking out Wolf first is extremely helpful, because he just doesn't miss very often in his upgraded ship.

Probably already mentioned, but I would like to note that the reason you need to constantly Boost to keep up with James is not because he didn't open his wings - if you can get right up close to him, you see that his wings are in the same position as Fox's. You need to constantly boost to keep up because JAMES constantly boosts as well - you can see his engine light flare up as he does just like yours does.

I press it in a rhythm where I hold it down just long enough to fire the burst then release and repeat. So I'm only really pressing once every three shots in most causes. Sometimes during bosses I just mash the hell out of the button though.
@concordat Which is the best route to ascertain a high score on Normal, concordat? I'm having trouble with getting the medal at Sector Z and at Venom 1 & 2.
@486251793 For a high total score probably Meteo, Katina, Sector X, Macbeth, Area 6. Unless you are really good at shooting at seaweed to get glitched bonus points.
For Sector Z you can try taking the warp from Sector X so you don't have to deal with Katt, or go through Zoness since you can stock up on bombs from the boss.
For Venom, getting a medal on one of the paths counts as a medal for the entire planet. So really it is all about killing Star Wolf II quickly. Try to bring hyper lasers.
@concordat Thanks for the tip, concordat. I finally have the Landmaster tank on Multiplayer mode, as well as the soundtrack of the game. The best score that I have for Star Fox 64 is 1305 points, and I had around 20 lives. I took route 18, according to the Nintendo Power's Strategy Guide for Star Fox 64. And for Sector Z, I took route 13(which is probably the fastest route out of all of them). Good choice of music on fighting Andross's true form, concordat. 5/5, =D
@marcelthebomb YES, PLEASE. Remake needed! They just need to keep Andross more like he is in this one- voice included. It freaked the hell out of me as a kid, but Adventures Andross, even while they tried to make him creepier... yeah. Didn't work. The voice and all that just wasn't scary. Then again, I'm not five anymore. That could always have something to do with it, lol.
Another stratagy I've seen for the Brain Stage of the Andross fight (one that I used to use until I figured out that the Arwing turns sharper than the Brain) is to do a somersault over the brain when its right behind you. The Brain chases you almost all the time, so let it chase you and then somersault over it. Its dangerous, but it works
Andross teleports when you shoot his brain (not the Cerebellum) too many times. You can easily kill him in one go before he teleports. Just a heads up for ya, if you wanted to know what triggers his teleporting.
One other detail about the Wolfen IIs is that they have shields that protect them whenever you try to use a bomb or charge shot on them, though they usually dodge those anyways so it's not a big deal.
Actually, believe it or not, James Mcloud does appear after you escape the tunnel. Unfortunatly you can't see it on a computer screen. It's a dot that moves towards the right side of the screen.
I notice when your entering the tunnel, that you're actually tilting the arwing to the best path. Clever way of memerization. I usually just say it out loud repeatedly
if you look closely, you'll see that fox has his wings out through the entire maze, i think when con did the first person view he glitched it so fox's wings go back in
I couldn't find the song you played when you go through the tunnel to Andross. I assumed it was the second song you played as the description box said but the song i didn't sound that song, so i think you mis-credited it or something.

One other detail about the Wolfen IIs is that they have shields that protect them whenever you try to use a bomb or charge shot on them, though they usually dodge those anyways so it's not a big deal.

Actually, believe it or not, James Mcloud does appear after you escape the tunnel. Unfortunatly you can't see it on a computer screen. It's a dot that moves towards the right side of the screen.

if you look closely, you'll see that fox has his wings out through the entire maze, i think when con did the first person view he glitched it so fox's wings go back in

I couldn't find the song you played when you go through the tunnel to Andross. I assumed it was the second song you played as the description box said but the song i didn't sound that song, so i think you mis-credited it or something.

@DokemonStudios The Metal Slug 4 OST has misnamed tracks in it, most obvious is that the track labled "Snowy Road" isn't the one that plays on the snow level.
The one I used would be track 11 on the album.
