  • I worked at petsmart as a groomer and a sitter, so not with small animals, but I knew the people there and nobody abused small animals. In fact, I bought some rats while I was employed there and knew an employee who rescued some from a shelter. I don't know where they get them, and that might be an issue, there are decent rodent breeders in this world and i think consumers would be willing to pay $20 for a tame, hand raised rodent. So it could be better, but the employees I knew were good.

  • LOL, I do not want to be mean but hw do you think petsmart gets animals?? It is not going to be the best treatment ever and also I have a pet hamster, spider, turtle, and fish and other crickets and things like that and Thay are lining find still after years!!

  • i dont wanna search im lazy i thought this vid gave me the info already :P not cool

    wasted 32 seconds!

  • @LadyGeniaG My petsmart sells cats...

  • CHECK OUT MY NEWW HAMSTER CHANNEL PLZ PLZ IM NEW HERE AND PLZ SUBSCRIBE ME

  • Yeah sorry I work for PetSmart and I am 100% sure that we do not abuse/torture any pet of any kind! Thank you for choosing PetSmart and we hope to see you again!

  • @Crypticstorm13 I do too. Petsmart's main focus has been customer service and ethical treatment of animals. I highly doubt we would sell animals that were raised in a "mill." In fact, we take steps to ensure animals are NOT bought from mills and instead offer adoption agencies as an alternative. I think the girl in this video just heard about animal mills and thinks all pet stores do this. Not EVERY store is PetSmart. Cant tell you how many times customers have mistaken other stores for PetSmart

  • if they torture them, then shouldnt we save them by buying them

  • @Forgetx456 the less people buy the less the demand is going to be :p

  • @Forgetx456 exactly

  • omg and why do i care about this any ways i have pets from a normal pet shop and whats the difference

  • visit my NEW HAMSTER CHANNEL thx dont forget to rate comment and subscribe.thx

  • Petsmart doesn't use "mills". They don't sell dogs or cats. They have adoption groups come in and find them homes. And if you got your hamster from a petsmart, I would have to say "impressive, it looks healthy, so what is the problem?"

  • @LadyGeniaG watch it first! they do not! watch it! im not a Big tree--huger but they are sick!

  • @LadyGeniaG

Actully Petsmart and Petco DO buy from animal mills. Please look up the video: (Behind the closed doors of PetSmart ) and (Another PETCO and PetSmart Supplier Caught on Video Mistreating Animals).

  • And what about you? You are keeping that animal in captivity...that's not where it would be if it was given a choice. You are torturing that animal by forcing it to live in a plastic cage.

  • nice looking hamster

  • fuck you cant even spell.

  • wouldnt take advice from a 9 year old that sleeps in a crib....

  • Petmills produce inbred creatures, resulting in future problems and death leaving you both heartbroken and pennyless. BOYCOTT all petstores!

  • its acting like a hamster? my snake looks pretty hungry now tho.

  • why should i take any advice from a 9 yr old?

  • Comment removed

  • If people would stop wanting hamster this wouldn't be a problem...

  • I agree with this partially. There is certain petsmarts you should watch for. For example; I would never buy from the petsmart near me again because they sold me a 'perfectly healthy' rat... well... no. They sold me an unsocial, scared little rat that hides in it's home all day, which is very VERY unusual for rats, AND to top it off he had phenomia even though they said he'd had a reason vet check and he was 'fine.' Doesn't mean their all bad, I just dont trust them anynore.

  • OHHH! There freaking selfish....

  • Actullay, I bought my hamster from Pet Smart and he doesn't bite at all.

  • WOW. Petsmart is a GREAT place to buy animals at. So maybe YOU should look it up.

  • THEY ARE SAVING THEM FROM THESE JERKS AND FINDING THEM A GOOD HOME

  • u think PET SMART is bad? ha! check out what recently happened at a pet co!!!! one of the SICK workers cute off a dogs ear then tried to sew the fucker back on!!! now THAT is messed up!!

  • @AngelasAnimalAdvice don't people in america dock dogs ears and tails all the time, though?

  • @infraball well yes. the IDIOTS. i would NEVER!! but this sick bastard cut the dogs WHOLE are off!! where it had NO EAR WHAT.SO.EVER. and just by the way u said "dont ppl in america" im assuming ur not American? nice to judge though. -_-

  • @AngelasAnimalAdvice i'm not saying all do. but it's legal there, that kind of thing is illegal in the uk unless they're some kind of working dog that needs their tail docked.

  • @infraball well then ur lucky. i WISH it was illegal here, its AWFUL!

  • u know bying from mills saves the animals life and besides i have seen their pets they are healthy and happy next people will say this about petco and thats were i got my friendly hamster

  • If you want a real comparison i have one due to personal experience, i have been going to petco for years i cant tell you how disappointed I am with the way they treat all their animals such as their fish, the tiger oscars, supposed to be black, were white with ich. Just about a month ago a petsmart opened nearby and i haven't stepped foot in another petco. the reason is, no ich, no bad illness on the fish if you ask me i say pet smart is one of the best major chains dealing with pets. No doubt.

  • little girl dont know about u but my local petsmart dont even sell puppies

  • This is why I buy from a mom & pop pet shop that is near my house for hamsters; they treat them with love and they breed their animals in house.

  • i have that same hamster he has the same markings as your hamster

  • If petsmart was torturing them, wouldnt you want to rescue them by buying them?

  • I don't understand why you would specifically target PetSmart.. Yes they sell animals from mills, but they also heavily support adoption and encourage buying from shelters.. I can't speak for all stores, but the one near me only keeps a couple animals at a time and gives them a fairly large area with a window for customers to see into. Most pet stores keep them in small cages and keep more than they can possibly sell to increase variety for sale.

  • OMG who would treat animals like tht?!?!?!?! oh and just so u know Tomaduck ur the only one here who is tht name u called her i cant believe they do tht to animals i mean steeping on the throwing them in the trash really i hope they get sued

  • lol this girl is a fucktard

  • my older sis bought a parakeet at petco once and it died after a week and she took care of it properly but it still died.. :(

my family has never trusted that store since... only for pet supplies

  • not all pet stores get them from their i got a hamster from petco and he lived a happy life for 5 years she is deas now from old age but u do need to watch out for the pet stores tht do get their pets from places like that

  • what a stupid little girl

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWE!

  • PetSmart and Petco both get their small animals, birds and reptiles from the same vendors. Rainbow Exotics for small pets,Lasco for reptiles, and birds come from Preferred (perfect) birds. I used to work at PetSmart for years. Most of the pets that were shipped had to be treated by a vet before they were sold and even then people would bring them back dead half the time. Pet stores often get their animals from the same vendors so don't think boycotting on store and buying pets from another helps.

  • @mangoliouskiwi Actually they dropped the company. Rainbow word no longer supplies petsmart

  • @tacosrock23

Not true. It's "Preferred Birds" that they "dropped" but all they did was resign with the company after Kaytee brand took over and renamed it "Perfect Birds". Rainbow Exotics does still supply them with pets. They did have a hard time getting pets because Rainbow had PETA down their necks for a bit but as of this week that is still the current vendor since we just got a shipment from Rainbow on Thursday.

  • I buy from local breeders who love their pets. I can see the enviroment where the pets grow up and how they are treated.

  • I will never buy from ANY Chain shit fuck place. They torture the hell out of the poor things! They slap them and beat them and cut them. I dont care how they advertise.

  • @cristmaspeng id rather spend 3 dollars to get them out.... but thats just me...

  • all pets story do crule thang to all the pets thay get. i have seen what they do to the animals

  • petco sucks not petsmart

  • your hamster is really cute :)

  • little girl, how old are you?

    pedobear wants some action...

  • i remember the days of when we had real pets...... - the days when we ran thru the forrest and jungles like tarzan. we have lost touch nature, god, animals and ourselves.

  • petsmart is not good... their beta fish are proof as well. I got a half moon beta from them and its scales were falling off they had them stacked on top of each other in small containers hardly bigger than a glass. Its fins looked unhealthy and ripped. I fed it some special fish food i purchased later and the half moon i bought looks much better; but it was in horrible conditon before D: I bought a parakeet from them too and i took it to a vet when i realized it was acting funny. It was ill.

  • don't buy animals from Petsmart. Buy from a reputable breeder instead. These animals if not sick r way over priced

  • You are wrong BUY FROM PETSMART so you can rehabilatate the animals.By the way only like 1 out of twenty petsmarts are bad.For example at the petsmart I go to has the right cageing/mantince for the reptiles. All the cats seem healthy and all the furry critters are cleaned cage.

  • @TheRussianleopard Are you fucking retarded? You NEVER buy from a place that sells sick animals, no matter how badly you want to "rehabilitate" it. Buying from those places (most commonly mills) ENCOURAGES them to keep producing sick and mistreated animals. Jesus Christ.

  • lol not being mean but why would the animals be put in the store if they had problems no one would buy then unless they felt bad but even with that the store would loss money and the store would be shut down for animal cruelty and a unhealthy environment. plus you better bet a lot of animal corporations that help animals look at all the big selling animal places and would not allow that to happen it would be all over the news.

  • @lcs49 Alot of it is hidden behind the scenes. The animals never appear to be ill, so people do not believe it until they get a sick animal. The reason it isn't on the news is because they go to great measures to keep it under wraps.

  • But then I don't think it's fair that I have to talk like I'm happy to see my baby like this and I don't expect the poster does either. And though they may not be the ones directly mistreating the animals do you still think these places would still operate (at least to the scale they do currently) if the big chains stopped buying their animals? No because they wouldn't make any money, so for me at least they are just as bad as the breeders.

  • @SparkSpiritBlue You can't say anything until you've been in their shoes. I have a Guinea pig who due to bad breeding practices from the breeders used by a Pet shop chain has severely deformed hips and although I love her to bits somethimes I sit and wish things had of been different. She requires a lot of extra care because of this and I've even thought about ending it for her but she still has a good quality life and I'm happy to keep doing it as long as she does...

  • Hey if you don't want your hamster I'll gladly take it from you...

I mean, you're saying all this as if there was something really wrong with your hamster.

It looks perfectly fine to me. Soo... I mean, if you don't want it. >.>

  • Petsmart DOES buy from puppy and hamster mills and these animals DO suffer starting from the stationary mothers who just have babies in inhumane conditions. No love, no life, and the atrocities just start there. Straight down the line these animals suffer and some hamsters make it or else the stores wouldn't make a profit. And thank goodness there are good people, but sadly mostly it is just a business and sink or swim for the animal.

  • @jenamerry That's true, but does it really make it PetSmart's fault? They aren't the ones directly mistreating them.

  • @jenamerry Petsmart doesn't buy from puppy mills, because it doesn't sell puppies. Oops!

  • @Naseemee Maybe your Petsmart doesn't, but mine does.

  • @CabhanListis You are mistaken. No Petsmart sells cats or dogs. If you see cats or dogs in a store, they are up for adoption, which means they have been rescued from shelters or from the streets, not purchased from breeders or mills

  • @Naseemee Okay. That is a mistake.

  • @Naseemee She's not talking about puppy mills...she's talking about small, fuzzy critters, thus the hamster in her hand. :p

  • @Naseemee they do where i live

  • @jenamerry PetCO is the store you're talking about. Petsmart does not sell dogs or cats, they run through local shelters.

  • Russian Dwarf Hamster's are so ... FLUFFEH!

  • /facepalm. I get so tired of seeing these videos. I am a pet care associate here in Texas. If for any reason a pet is ever ill or hurt, we take them to a isolation room in the back to treat them. If a vet is required we pay the tab no matter what...i'v personally witnessed my store pay nearly $1,200 on a single hamster to keep it alive. Please do research before simply assuming that Petsmart is the "debil". Consider the mills that we avoid at all cost to do business with. Thanks. ;)

  • @Dasphatness1 yea my guniea pig was sick and i took it back to petsmart and it heathly as can be. they give me meds and every thing!

  • Go vegan if you care about animals...

  • CUUUUUUTE HAMSTER!! I JUST WANT TO KISS IT! IT'S LIKE A BALL OF FLUFF!

  • Cute hamster.

  • @TheVideogamepro21 I'd like you to do me a favour and watch British TV show 'Panorama- Hunting the Internet Bullies' because that was a very uncalled for response. Did she directly do anything to you? No, so in future let's mind our language and not say such nasty things to someone we've never meet.

  • yo little girl shut up about petsmart. petsmart don't tourcher these little animals or that will be animal abuse you little rut and i got my hamster at petsmart and he has be living for 1 YEAR 1 year and you telling me they torcher these animals. ya keep up your stupid dumb lies you noob don't ever treat petsmart trash ever again

  • @TheVideogamepro21 lol, u called her a noob, i laughed my ass off, ya pet smart does not torcher there animals, some pet stores niglect, but do not torcher, an the pet stores that niglect arent normally big companys like petsmart an petco an stuff like that.

  • @moocw7889 You just said that PetSmart doesn't torture animals, and then you said that they neglect them...

    What a contradictory statement.

  • @SparkSpiritBlue ya well if u read my statement carefully i said big companys like petsmart an petco arent normally the ones to do that

  • @moocw7889 It's because your spelling is hard to read... -.-

  • @SparkSpiritBlue torture and neglect are two different things.

  • @SharpiesxD No they're not. Neglect is a form of abuse.

  • @SparkSpiritBlue torture isn't really abuse, it's worse.

  • @SharpiesxD Yes. I know. But it is STILL abuse, just a higher degree. -.-

  • I have a hamster just like that the same color and everything

  • Petsmart isn't cruel, the pet mills they get them from are. I've gotten two guinea pigs from there and they are both 100% healthy. People at pet smart don't abuse there animals or whatever, if they did all pet smarts would be shut down. STOP PETSMART HATE; START HATING THE MILLS.

  • That is the most cutest fucking hamster :I

  • Little girl,i think your talking about petCO. lol

  • @SnipShotMLG they're all the same they buy from distributors where they don't treat the animals right at all

  • nothings wrong with it! i go there all the time!

  • petsmart is amazing!

  • i have the exact same breed of hamster and i got mine from petsmart infact ive gotten most of my animals and animal supplies from them and they are fine sometimes this stuff happens......its not the end of the world!!:)but it is nice your taking a stand for something you belive in.it does look crule SparkSpiritBlue is correct i guess it just depends on the employees..

  • uhhh i brough my hamster at petsmart

  • And never ask hamstergirl how to spell "torture", or ask her to check your grammar.

HAMSTERGIRL IS A MISTAKEMILL PLEASE ACT NOW SEARCH HAMSTERGIRL MISTAKEMILL WORD TORCHER TODAY!!!!

  • @must0not0be0spoken dude, she's a little kid, she cares about animals, why are you being so mean? and why do you care how she spelled torture? I bet you're one of those people who goes around, acting like you know everything on the internet, trying to piss people off, if you pulled these stunts in real life, you'd end up with a broken jaw.

  • @tristan7grunt Not bloody likely "dude". And by the way, what kind of useless parent lets a little kid post on youtube? This is not a place for children, in fact, the Internet in general is not a safe or healthy place for children. Does this misguided, unsupervised, and undereducated "little kid" also have a Facebook page? Go back to playing your xbox "grunt".

  • @must0not0be0spoken ok, so, the way I see, it, you're being a bastard to a little girl who feels bad that animals get hurt, regardless of whether they do or not, then you're being a bastard to the person who stands up for the little girl, I swear to God, I've never met anyone more pointless than you. Oh, and picking on me because of what games I play? You think that makes you sound smart? you think that makes you sound opinionated? you're filth, maggot ridden filth.

  • @tristan7grunt lol, thanks for the giggles, grunty. Why do you give so much power to a total stranger on the Internet? You're upset, I'm simply bemused. Wise up. BTW, I'm not picking on you because of what games you play, but it was obvious from your post that you were playing them alone. Incidentally, your use of the word opinionated indicates you lack a grasp of the normal usage of the term. As for your invocation of the almighty deity, he says you're on your own. You're fun.

  • @must0not0be0spoken whatever, I don't really feel like continuing an argument I've already won, with a dumbass on the internet, there are just to many of them.

  • @tristan7grunt glad you've pleased yourself (again), hope you don't go blind.

  • @must0not0be0spoken yup, I'm glad too.

  • @must0not0be0spoken

BECAUSE HER GRAMMAR IS A REASON TO NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS.

Yeah I totally see the logic in that >_>

  • @TriForceFluffy And when did I say that? If you are going to argue with me, at least argue with something I actually said.

Here are the facts behind my post. Parents should not allow kids on Youtube without direct and immediate supervision. Like the rest of the Internet, Youtube is a bit of a sewer. Parents should teach their children to use language correctly. If this was some sort of "learning activity" with her parent(s), then they needed to help her get it right.

  • @must0not0be0spoken If it wasn't a "learning experience with her parents, what idiot let her use Youtube unsupervised. If correcting her grammar in a tough way gets her upset enough to get her parents interested in what their child is doing on the Internet, I have done her a huge favor.

As for her criticisms of Petsmart, they are not entirely correct. I run (and fund) a rescue shelter, and Petsmart has been helpful and supportive, as has their competitor Petco.

  • @must0not0be0spoken These sorts of things are rarely simple black and white, something a caring and involved parent might have helped her to understand.

In the meantime, she ought to be playing with friends, not on the Internet without supervision.

  • awe ik wen i found out i was so upset 8'(

  • why

  • YOU GO GIRL !!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey i would rather buy a lot of those animals to keep them out of cruelty and abuse

  • Was that girl in a crib?

  • Know what i dont think any of what i just read is fair, its not pet smarts fault its the company they buy them from and by buying the pets off of this company they are saving them and selling them to loving famillies.

  • Vidoes like this one would likely be information she used when making her opinion. watch this then condemn if your tiny minds see fit....

  • Im very embarrassed for the "adults" commenting on here! This is a Young girls video, weither you work at petsmart or are just someone following the convo, shouldnt the fact that a young girl has posted this perhaps help in controlling your toungues, or in this case fingers??

  • @lilbitz2207 also she never said her pet was harmed, she stated that others looking into this was important to her and others like her pet.

  • I, too, worked at a Petsmart. At our store we bought from a lot of local loving breeders who I personally knew. Our store was a "female" store, the store across town was the "male" store so any boys would get dropped off over there. ANY sick animal IMMEDIATELY went to the attached Banfield vet. You don't know whit so look up REAL cruelty like dog fighting and then post, little girl.

  • Don't believe someone who can't even spell torture. haha

  • Cool Pet

    10 thumbs up

  • I got my hamster from Petsmart, and I'm pretty sure they were treating there animals kindly.

  • @Jiffyy521 @sonador5075 I think PetSmart takes good care of the animals as far as I know. But then again, maybe it depends on the store's employees.

I have had hamsters from there who have died because of inbred diseases and for some reason the employees "weren't aware" that the hamsters that I bought had wet tail and such.

They improved their care of them the last time I complained, but still; some stores are good at taking care of them but some aren't. Just depends on the employees I guess.

  • @SparkSpiritBlue The animals sold at the stores where people can see them generally look healthy and are kept in good conditions. Its the animals in the back room or breeding facilities that she is talking about. Employees at the stores are usually not apart of the problem. The breeding facilities are death camps for the animals living there. The Humane society did undercover investigations showing what the pet industry does not want you to see. I urge you to look up the undercover videos.

  • @lisadacat100 Well apparently I've gotten inbred and diseases animals from Petco/Petsmart like I just said in my last comment... Please explain that for me, as I am not lying.

  • @SparkSpiritBlue No animal mill 'takes good care' of animals, they're a product. Wake the fuck up you mong.

  • @bashpr0mpt And what the fuck are you talking about? I wasn't talking about the mills. Read the comment right; also, your rudeness was completely unnecessary. You're stupid.

  • @SparkSpiritBlue agreed sir . this little rut should back off and stop trashing petsmart

  • @TheVideogamepro21 I'm female, but thank you for agreeing.

  • agreed i work at petsmarts as well and we take extremely good care of all of our animals

  • This is so fricken stupid. if your going to post a video about torturing hamsters at Pet smart please show us a hamster with evidence of torture. that stupid thing in the video is fine. And please stop being such a drama queen. and please spell your words right!!

  • Those make great snakes for snakes

  • well, where are they supposed to get them? petsmart is a huge chain, they cant just have a few of the animals to breed for all the stores...

  • O M G i just googled petsmart pet mills and found this horrific video about rainbow world exotics and the animals were treated so cruelly one person purposely stomped and i mean stomped on a poor defenseless hamster and threw it in the garbage without making sure it was alive. please pray for these innocent creatures.

  • what type of hamster is that? and is it a dwarf?

  • Torcher huh? Instead of doing some "research" why dont you continue studying your spelling, fucking little kids.

  • petsmart is fine and they dont abuse/neglect their animals i worked there for a couple years and took care of the domestic animals...plus your video prooves nothing!

  • SEARCH THE WEBSITE HATERS!!!!!!!!

  • One petsmart I went to (JUST ONE) had a good sized group of baby bearded dragons in a tank. I noticed one looked sick and wasn't eating so I notified an employee and they quarantined it before any others were infected.

  • @crystalphoenixstudio same here

  • "search up petsmart petmills" Did so, all the top posts were from PETA's website. PETA is mostly known for SETTING UP their videos/articles.

  • YOU ARE LIKE 8 SHUT UP.

  • @TheCBluver143 Who cares if she's 8 at least she gives a fuck about the animals being sold.

  • @TheAtheistAussie ask me if i care

  • @TheCBluver143 I don't care if you care or not, you're a dick. I'm just giving you the facts, take them how you will.

  • @TheAtheistAussie hey, take a look at the dislike bar.

  • did u buy that hamster from pet smart?

  • exhibit A- if you notice she is in a crib

    therefore she doesnt know shit

  • @BeefDipBoy top of a bunk bed bro

  • i learned from experts many breeds of animals and how to care for them bc i want to be a vet right now im the smartest when it comes to animals than anyone in my grade

  • I got a chinese hamster from there and she was very jittery and when i tried putting her in her cage she squeezed out of my hand and ran under my dresser! She soon came out and she was too fast to be captured IT TOOK ME EXACTLY 47 MINUTES TO CATCH HER

  • Is there a better way to buy hamsters?!?! Anyone?

  • ????What problem are you talking about?? Your video shows your cute pet, not the problem...

But I agree with you, many animals that you purchase from PetCo or PetSmart are easy to die. The only reason I can explain is that they have been treated in EXTREMELY GOOD enviroment; hence, when you get them home, they are taked away from that GOOD ENVIROMENT, they soon reach the point of death....

Fish from Walmart , in opsite, are easy to keep, unless you did not provide treated tape water for them.

  • I got a cockatiel from Petsmart and it's perfectly healthy o-o

  • your fucked up kid

  • My Petsmart is great. My guinea pig lived to be 7. I got a robo dwarf hamster whos still alive and is 7 months old. My Petsmart only gets 2 dogs per week because they are against puppy mills and dont want to support them. The Petsmart I go to has never had cages (exept for the dogs) and only tanks. They have a grooming area and vet in the back and have never hid sick animals back there. My Petsmart only keeps the most of only 4 or 5 animals in one tank, but usually only 3.

  • whats wrong with it

  • that mouse is sooooooooooooooooooooo fat! can i have it? please???

  • @PhsycoScientists

That isn't a fat mouse, a mouse that fat would have a heart attack and die. That is a perfectly normal sized winter white dwarf hamster in her summer coat.

  • Hes cute! :O Sorry, I know thats off-topic, but I just love his furry little face. <3

  • hes ur hamster ever biten u
