Well, Ups and downs is AR-15 is very acurate, but it will not out last an AK, trade off to the AK is if it is Full auto the AK is extreamly jumpy and inacurate
@TheKILLAHUNT Yeah, there are WASR's out there that are work perfectly fine. I use to own a WASR-10/63 that had no issues, but there are ones that didn't work fine like my AES-10 (just a wasr with a long barrel) The WASR varies so much from sample to sample with quality. If you took 100 Saigas and 100 WASR's I could guarantee you the WASR's will have a higher defect rate then the Saiga. WASR doesn't use 100% newly made parts either.
@TheKILLAHUNT I haven't either, but that doesn't mean it couldn't. I didn't notice anything wrong with the M70 when I took it apart. And I remember the underfolder stock button popping out with the spring when I used it a lot. Took it to the gunsmith, he made it work better, but I remember bullets getting caught in the chamber for some reason. Never had that happen with any well made AK. Sold it eventually.
@TheKILLAHUNT No. There are AK's that are garbage out there. I've bought some of them. AES-10 the mag release fell off and there was pretty bad mag wobble and trigger slap. Century Yugo M70, functioning problems out of the box.
what kind of recoil buffer is that man?I'm looking to get one.I heard recoil buffers have a tenancy to jam up the rifle because it doesn't allow the action to cycle fully sometimes
What region of MT? I'm in Missoula. Alot of aware people prepping around the state. Ohh we have idiots too though right?.... Thanks for spending the time on the videos.
@android17ak47 Are you referring to the one by Scottdalek or however you spell that? That video is kind of funny because I've seen some AKs pass a test like that and some fail.
I think he managed to get dirt in the trigger group, probably got the slots in the receiver where the bcg rides back in forth enough to cause that.
I have that same complete tapco set up.Makes allot more fun to shoot. and wrong any kind of debris will jam ina ar. Notice ar have flip dust covers and the ak doesnt.
@sk8tafrnk how could you tell its a "sniper barrel" without knowing the brand of ar? you would think the owner would at least know the manufacture of the rifle. and also, define sniper barrel for me. i want to see if you know what your actually talking about or if your just some short tempered kiddo addicted to call of duty.
@556forlunch nope put dirt or mud or some other kinda debris in an AR n it wont work it dont matter if u get some on the outside but get some on the inside of the gun n it will not shoot
I'm not really impressed. Check out the video: AR vs. AK dirt/dust test. The AR-15 is completely buried, and still fires with the bolt only jamming open during the last round.
@reptile202 If you put this kind of dirt inside the action of an AR15, it will fail to function correctly. That is the main flaw of the system. The good news is, it's hard to get that kind of crud inside an AR15 during field use.
@millerusaf Interesting. However, I'm not seen this done to the same style AR-15 he had to call it a fail or not. Both it no doubt destroys everyone's logic that seems to think just a little bit of any kind of crud wrapped in a AR-15 automatically means it will fail. Not to mention the guy buried the AR-15 and even ran over it with a truck, and it still fired. But like a lot of people say: "A good soldier would keep his weapon clean as possible", no matter it be a AK or M16.
@millerusaf actually if you put that dirt inside of any gun especially the ar15 were he put it ie directly in the trigger control group it will still function the ar only runs into problems inside the star chamber
i dont understand how people keep sayin "you need more dirt" realistic combat conditions your shootin with your dust cover on the ak..i mean come on...ive tested my maadi in combat type conditions...crawled in the mud then dust water just tried to get it dirty and it still worked...if you let your rifle get filled with dirt and dirt without shakin it out before you fire your just a idiot
I got a Bushmaster gas piston AR-15 and the problems you have with a normal gas blow back AR are eliminated. Get a gas piston kit for your AR (CMMG recommended) and watch how much better it is. While I think 5.56 isn't the best for a rifle it's not too big of a deal. That's why you learn to do a controlled pair;)
Being left handed I also prefer the ergonomics of AR's over AK's. I just find that AK's are clumsy and limiting.
I can see semiauto rifle lover is about 15 as demonstrated by his knowledge of wepons that hes never fired. The AK-47 is cheap and ugly and takes some training to fire as accurate as the AR platform but is a much better choice in the field. A good combat weapon is simple by design and fires every time. The AR is a toy rifle with a toy round designed to wound. It is an ideal rifle in ideal conditions(never the case in combat) The AR fails when not kept in "grandpas rifle" condition.
I love my AK, but I also went with stag arms ar-15 piston system for this reason, you can do the same thing to my stag arms and get the same result, TRUST ME!
@peacemaker50cal There's no way in hell an AR would hold up to dirt like this in the receiver. It will bind up piston or not. The only thing the piston system does for an AR is gets rid of the "craps where it eats" problem which makes for less carbon build up on the bolt group and in the chamber area. It does not get rid of the tight tolerances.
You lucky lucky people. I'd kill to get my hands on an AK. Be it chinese, czek, russian. Well, I wouldn't kill but I'd shout a lot if I thought it'd do any good over here :D Nice video. Non biased. A lot of Americans just love M-16s because they are American I think. Have to admire the patriotism but it wouldn't save lives in a dirty, cold, dry, wet, sandy, windy, hot environenment. Next to useless if you ask me :D AKs for All!
I don't care for either the AR or AK too much. Why? Because when I fire a round at someone that is trying to kill me, I expect that round to either kill them or seriously injury them to where he/she can't do anything other than talk. The only firearm I have seen able to do that is a shotgun with slugs in it. Add to the facts that shotguns are very reliable and flat-out intimidating
@lskw1 I would need more dirt to mess up the AK (That was actualyl a decent amount...lol). The same amount of dirt inside the action of an AR (or a few other rifle types) would jam them up first shot.
With that said, it's still possible to jam up the AK (they aren't perfect and are just machines like everything else).
@millerusaf very true.. im too much of a puss to get mine all dirty like that cause would take too long to clean out but i remember picking ones up in iraq that were practically burried in the ground and they would function..
@semiautoriflelover It's not bull crap at all. Answer this, will an AR-15 run with the same amount of dirt insisde the action?
Besides, it's my preference of firearm. What's the point of calling my preference of firearm bull crap? It's my choice, not yours. If everyone liked the same exact things, the firearm industry would be pretty dull and boring.
It's been proven time and time and time and time again. The AK will run forever and a day. I'm just showing an example of that.
@semiautoriflelover easy..if the person doesn't pay attention to proper maintenance/upkeep of the AR, it WILL stop functioning. Seen it myself in Iraq.
Any firearm can jam eventually, but AKs have a better tolerance for gunk/dirt/mud than other designs. I'm not trying to say ARs are crap (My duty issue weapon is a Colt M4, and I love it), but facts are facts. The AK will run dirtier than the AR. @midwestiowashooter Yes, I was just about to mention that. That is pritty much the only way to jam it up. The junk can get in the trigger group and phisicly stop you from being able to pull the trigger. The AK is very reliable, but it still has to exist in the laws of phisics, lol.

you can do way worse than that to them, i have seen them being used without top cover and with no stock leaving receiver open at the end first hand. they were not all that accurate but i blame those pulling the trigger.
classic, personally I love the AK47, the debates between them and the AR platform are just worthless.

@millerusaf I've seen an AK choke on a chewed up buffer. Not a necessary add on IMHO. Thanks for the channel.

you can do way worse than that to them, i have seen them being used without top cover and with no stock leaving receiver open at the end first hand. they were not all that accurate but i blame those pulling the trigger.
