Hey, i'm on Okinawa now & my Chaser has a problem the regular shops around here can't figure out, when I accelerate up to 100 KMH in 4rth gear and then down shift again to stop for a red light the engine shuts off. Sometimes when i'm just ridin around and slow to 2nd gear it doe's it then as well. I need to dyno test it but cannot find one anywhere, is there nowhere to power check a car on OkinawA?
You need to clean you Idle throttle valve, as the throttle closes, the idle throttle opens so the engine gets some air so it doesnt stall. Dirty idle throttle valve is quite common, so take the throttle off and give it a good clean, this will fix your problem.

NOT impressive. I know a skyline can sounds better than that at 1100 hp. I know because I used to live in Okinawa Japan. R32's were like cobras over here. you didnt own one without putting serious money in it.
@thunderbirdsc92 (There are hardly any tuner shops in Okinawa, thus no real highpowered 1/4mile cars as there are no circuits there to race them, same problem in Hokkaido (although Hokkaido has more tuners, and some powerful cars, they dont have circuit to race them either. Honshu is the only place to find hard tuned GTRs

@jasonneal This car was mapped on the dyno, so several runs were made to get the numbers but we were limited to 1000hp as the dyno belongs to Super Autobacs in Osaka, and when the operator saw the machine reach its power limit, we had to call it a day on the dyno. Boost was only 2.2bar (not 2.5) and we didnt get to test the 100shot of NOS. So give that GT-R has a transmission loss of 10% or so, this is 1100hp flywheel output as it it, plus dyno room temp, wheel slip etc 1300hp is there
Sorry, still doesn't sound any where near 1300 HP. i'm not saying the car isn't fast but it just idle's too smoothly and just doesn't sound like it is spinning those rollers over to 1000HP.. i have seen cars and trucks that have put down 1000 and more HP and there is a big diffrence in the way the vehicle acts and sounds on those rollers. This car sounds a little more like around 4 maybe 500 HP. you can look at other vids that are half of the HP and there is still a big differnce

Realy? i have seen in person of full blown alcohol dragster on dyno's and have never seen them redlineing it through each gear. i have seen alot of other cars/ trucks with turbo's and blowers with nitrous that has reached the 1000 plus HP and still didn't hit it in every gear. when i dyno'd my car i ran it up to about 3k RPM untill i got to 4th and then turned it lose, just watch some of the other vids on dyno runs and you can see for your self. and that car isn't 1300

At the end of the day, 1100 ps, 1200ps 1300 ps is a very large amount of power, at the point were, if its a drag car, the more important numbers are 1/4 mile and trap speed

@highrpm85 GT-Rs dont use AWD when its needed.... its ALWAYS on. the magic there is HOW MUCH power is being sent to the front wheels depending on the conditions. from as little as 10% power to as much as 50%.
most people who dont have access to an AWD dyno will remove the front driveshaft to get on a 2WD dyno.
Yes, there are torque controllers for Evos, STi's, and GT-R and other AWD cars, but these controllers are stupid expensive, so not many people use them
DynoJet dyno's are complete rubbish. that car doesnt have 1000rwhp, maybe 1000hp at the engine on C16 race gas at 2.5 bar boost.
They have a single roller dyno, and can't control load. So you are making atleast 10-20% more power, the car shouldn't be going thru gear's like that anyway hahahah who dyno's car's like that. you put it in the 1;1 gear.. and set dyno speeed and accelerate.. ohh so funny these dynojet's are.
@speedtek007 all dynos are inaccurate to some degree, thats why this car put down 2 back to back 8sec runs, running Nitto 555R on an unprepped track, 1300kg car with terminal speed or 170.25mph (with no nos, and 2.3bar boost) will give you an idea of power.
As mentiond before, he is mapping, couldnt get traction so the revs shot up so has to short shift to get to 5th. Fuel was 110octane

nice video, like all high hp cars, its very difficult to get an accurate reading when theres massive wheelspin, but thats why the dynos computer application can account for the car being run in a higher gear to have a larger load put on the car to minimize wheelspin, as well as spray VHT

@schosal123 The same cars im talking about, are on the factory original transmission, with the factory rear end, and tires used are slicks. No nos used. Plenty of street driven Supra's with well over 600hp.
The same 1000+hp Supras are making consistent 8 second passes in the 1/4 mile with nothing breaking.... The Supra was over engineered from the beginning. No other car from Japan has been subject to repeated abuse without breakage.

Nothting wrong with the driver, the car has to much power, between such a short rev band when the Turbos max, hence it's hard to record a peak. Sounds to me that when the car hits peak power it what to spin the wheels !!
And people wonder why the skyline is illegal in the U.S. Ya theres supras with like 1300hp- but they arent even close to being street legal, but atleast the car is legal to own lol

You just have to do some work on it to get it to pass the emissions, and after that you can put it back how you had it, cuz its a one time test. @barfitt Skylines have 280 hp. Skylines are illegal because of emissions. You have to get the car inspected by the DOT and the US Customs. Plus the EPA. Japan uses different fuel smart one, thats why emissions are a issue here in the USA.

the only Legal to import Skyline is the R33 chassis. the R32 and R34 are not.

Ok HKS and Trust have never made 1500hp gtr ever, when HKS and TRUST were pushing the RB26s the most power they could run was circa 1200hp due to turbos they had at the time. HKS drag R33 is not 1200hp, its 900~1000hp and weighs only 980kg (not the 1300kg) they quote, they ran 1.8bar boost. they had over 1000hp per tonne
Endless-R sent the HKS power record with 1270hp flywheel dynoed by HKS racing (the same car in the video)

Yep, R33 weighed more than the R32 with the same power. Of course a few mods and it doesn't really matter. Just comes down to personal preference. I too like the R32 better though more than the R34 even.

Well, first of all, thats not an AWD dyno, so they probibly disconnected the front driveshaft, secondly, it all depends on how their suspension is set up, I've seen sub 7 sec. supras with no wheelspin past 100 ft. on the 1/4 mile.

It stands for the highest trim package Nissan has for the Skyline family..... GT-R meaning it has AWD with the twin-turbo RB26 engine.
Any lesser BNR/ENR chassis have the single turbo RB25 without AWD and some come as a 4door.

They have a single roller dyno, and can't control load. So you are making atleast 10-20% more power, the car shouldn't be going thru gear's like that anyway hahahah who dyno's car's like that. you put it in the 1;1 gear.. and set dyno speeed and accelerate.. ohh so funny these dynojet's are.

@speedtek007 all dynos are inaccurate to some degree, thats why this car put down 2 back to back 8sec runs, running Nitto 555R on an unprepped track, 1300kg car with terminal speed or 170.25mph (with no nos, and 2.3bar boost) will give you an idea of power.
As mentiond before, he is mapping, couldnt get traction so the revs shot up so has to short shift to get to 5th. Fuel was 110octane

nice video, like all high hp cars, its very difficult to get an accurate reading when theres massive wheelspin, but thats why the dynos computer application can account for the car being run in a higher gear to have a larger load put on the car to minimize wheelspin, as well as spray VHT

2.3bar is a drop in the bucket when there are Supra's running 3.5bar on massive GT55 turbos making in excess of 1500hp to the tire.
the magic to keeping it all together is a properly blueprinted block, as well as strong head studs torqued 2-3times more than the factory specs.

@schosal123 The same cars im talking about, are on the factory original transmission, with the factory rear end, and tires used are slicks. No nos used. Plenty of street driven Supra's with well over 600hp.
The same 1000+hp Supras are making consistent 8 second passes in the 1/4 mile with nothing breaking.... The Supra was over engineered from the beginning. No other car from Japan has been subject to repeated abuse without breakage.
And 1000hp is easily achieved on the stock block.

Nothting wrong with the driver, the car has to much power, between such a short rev band when the Turbos max, hence it's hard to record a peak. Sounds to me that when the car hits peak power it what to spin the wheels !!

You just have to do some work on it to get it to pass the emissions, and after that you can put it back how you had it, cuz its a one time test. @barfitt Skylines have 280 hp. Skylines are illegal because of emissions. You have to get the car inspected by the DOT and the US Customs. Plus the EPA. Japan uses different fuel smart one, thats why emissions are a issue here in the USA.

the only Legal to import Skyline is the R33 chassis. the R32 and R34 are not.
You can thank Motorex/Kaizo Industries for ruining it. If their practices were more legal, then we'd have plenty of Skylines of all years on our shores, LEGALLY.

Plenty of street driven 1000+hp Supras roaming the streets, with everything working.... and then theres the drag sluts that come driving on their slicks and skinnies to the meets with parachute still attached.....
Any and every car that comes to TX2K is street legal.... they all pass state inspection in their respective states they come from and the owners can attest that they are street cars. What do you think makes a street car?

Ok HKS and Trust have never made 1500hp gtr ever, when HKS and TRUST were pushing the RB26s the most power they could run was circa 1200hp due to turbos they had at the time. HKS drag R33 is not 1200hp, its 900~1000hp and weighs only 980kg (not the 1300kg) they quote, they ran 1.8bar boost. they had over 1000hp per tonne
Endless-R sent the HKS power record with 1270hp flywheel dynoed by HKS racing (the same car in the video)

HKS hideck engine, so 2.8ltr lined and decked block 2771cc. Grouted bottom end up until the waterjackets.
Its wet sump but modified to over 8ltr capacity

Its An R33 GTR with HKS Hideck put in RWD as the 4wd was too dangerous on this dyno and we couldnt keepp it strapped down.

Yep, R33 weighed more than the R32 with the same power. Of course a few mods and it doesn't really matter. Just comes down to personal preference. I too like the R32 better though more than the R34 even.

probably so he can it to 5th which is more than likely a 1:1 ratio which will then measure the power right. If you listen he gets to 5th gear every time before he punches it. This is a dyno not a racetrack.

Well, first of all, thats not an AWD dyno, so they probibly disconnected the front driveshaft, secondly, it all depends on how their suspension is set up, I've seen sub 7 sec. supras with no wheelspin past 100 ft. on the 1/4 mile.
