  • PS There is no 'I' in planes . There is the carrier crew.

  • I can honestly say ...Been there , done that ! ABF3 Slapshot ,USS Enterprise , Ships Co, 80-83

  • Iserve from 1985-1988

    ABH3

  • fuck this ship! I finally got off this accident waiting to happen a month ago i couldnt be happier!

  • @PLANETP1SS

That is how I felt when I left her almost 30 years ago . Trust me in 30 years you will be proud to have served on the world's greatest warship . God bless the Enterprise .

  • I believe they are starting to decommission her now, which is sad. She has served a long life already, though and has more than paid back what we invested in her.

  • Hey?!?!

    WTF?!?!?

    U can't call the EA-6b Prowler "Jammer" a

    A-6 Intruder.

    Obvious differences and missions!!!

  • "I'm on the 'Big E now...it will be decommed end of 2012...Gerald Ford is the new class...and name sake of the first ship in that class...all Nimitz will be replaced technically speaking but it will be many many years untill ALL Nimitz class ship are gone.

  • I serve in the USN , and I am proud to say I am apart of the USS Enterprise's Crew, and she will be Decomed. in the NEAR future, and more then likely be turned into a museum sense she is the last of her type of model an ENTERPRISE CLASS Carrier, but there is word of a new Carrier on its way in 2015, and I think my best guess, that this new Ship will be the new USS Enterprise.

  • @paridonian I certainly hope so, I've heard that the replacement for Enterprise and all Nimitz class carriers will be the proposed "Gerald R. Ford" class vessel.

  • @airwave089 your almost correct. The USS Enterprise is probably going to be replaced by the USS Gerald R. Ford, but the Nimitz class vessels are planed to stay in the service for quite some time.

  • I had the privilege of touring the Enterprise while on an Air Force mobility exercise with the Navy. She was beautiful!!! Awesome!

  • thats the big e the older model in ww2 was called the lucky e it was the most revered and decorated ship of ww2

  • The U.S.S Enterprise, despite it's heritage, is going through extensive repairs and refits to her main hull. Her electronics, as the Enterprise was built in the 1970s, is outdated compared to newer carriers. Her flight decks are being weakened, as any would after hundreds of landings and take-offs. Her catapults' steam generators are failing, and they are being refit for launching F/A-18 Hornets, and P-3 Orion anti-submarine aircraft. They are also removing four of her seven nuclear reactors.

  • @Ovanteeri so how long is she going to stay in service after the refit?

  • @krigertom They are only expecting to send her out on two more deployments after the refit. So possibly as few as two years.

  • @wanabeepilot aha, thats to bad, since she is a beautiful ship. I wounder if, when she gets retired, another ship will be named Enterprise

  • @krigertom I'm sure there will be. It's something of a tradition to have a ship named Enterprise.

  • @krigertom

The U.S.S Enterprise is planned for service, with gradual repairs, until end of her expected service life in 2030. That is, of course, excluding battle damage.

  • @Ovanteeri aha cool

  • @krigertom they say she's going to be decommissioned in 2013, being replaced by the Gerald R. Ford.

  • i find it funny that other countries think they can beat us in a war.... an invasion force would have to come by sea or air and the navy would never break, none shall pass!

  • WOO GO REINCARNATION OF THE WWII BIG E

  • Great video...CVN 65 is a ledgendary ship too bad it has been rotting away in the ship yard with the assholes at nothrop grummen doing their best to make sure it never goes back out to sea and the CO continues to let the crew down with lies of when they are going to get out of the yards

  • thx man. Yeah it would be grat to se her get out of the yard. Its a great ship, and if she gets some refits she will be ready for at least 20 years more. Its no point of taking her out of service.

  • wtf, arn`t they going to decommission it?

  • Metalkrush77, What do you expexct the damn ship was completed in 1961! Its the second oldest ship in commission. Its been holding the line for 49 years and counting.

  • im going to the intrepid and ill prentend it is enterprise

  • hehe, just don't forget that the enterprise is far more advanced :)

  • Hay metalrush77 it must have been hard to see anything clearly through that BIG JAR you have on your head, dipshit!!!!!!!!

    GO NAVY!!!!!!!!!!

  • okey, then dont answer, i was just woundering!

  • aha, so what do you think about it then?

  • why is it so bad as you say?

  • <<<Slapshot' 80-83' West-pac 82-83'

    FlightDeck fueler V-4 ,ABF3

    She was/is Quite a ship!!

  • cant agree more man.

  • cool du, ive allready made a 1/350 model of her, ive only got some detals left like railings and crew

  • I am about to start making a 1/350 csale model of her!!! Cool that your sister is working onboard!!

  • nice man,

she is probaly going to be one of the last. as the big E is going to be decomisoned in 2014-15. so its not gonna be that many after her i guess

  • the new ship is going to be a CVX

  • aha, is that the modified Nimitz class ship

a new version of the nimitz class?

  • My dad was on board her from '65-'68 with VA-35 the black panthers. He worked on the avionics of the A-6 Intruders

  • cool man, the black panthers are awsome

  • aha, yeah now that you mentioned it, i have read thet the USS Enterprise will be decomisoned in the periode of 2014-2015. Is the USS Gerald R.Ford of the Nimitz class or a new one?

  • My brother recently went in to the navy and will be going on a world tour on the enterprise next year or later and that will be its last deployment of its lifetime. and a new carrier will take over

  • oh cool, that he`s going on the Enterprise.

Its to bad thats its being decomisoned, its a good ship, i would think that its gonna be a museum.

But do you know the name of the new ship? Is it going to take over the name USS Enterprise whit a new regestration number?

  • My uncle was in the navy for 15 years, hes been on the Dixie, Enterprise, and pry some others. He is now Homeless by choice, and a little screwed up in the head (he lives in a storage barn, and rides a bike). I believe he was the postmaster on the Enterprise while he was on it. I would like to get him a hat, but dont know how I would go about doing that...

  • cool, i mean that he was on the Enterprise

  • im just a fan.

  • lol yup lost 15% of my hearing that way, Were you in the Navy, or just a fan

  • I wasnt a pilot, i was on the catapults, I launched them. (green shirt)

  • aha i see, you were in the steam smoke lol

  • That was my ship 87-91 air dept,v-2, cat 3. long may she sail is right. Anyone thats on her now get ahold of me,,,Id like to get some patches and a replacement hat since mine got wore out.

  • witch planes did you pilot?
