@TheAslanDA I read that it was on the incompatible list / or requires nand lock. I have no direct experience with this model and dont visit my youtube account much anymore. I would go to xda developers website and see if they have some tips for you. Good luck sir. : )

easy root and the other root app doesn't work for droid running 2.2.1...the reason verizon release 2.2.1 is because no one can hack it....i used super one click, which isn't a app..google it; located at xda developers page; gives you instructions

Rooted with doroot on 2.2, Versizon sent an update which seemed to disable tethering. I have 2.2.1. upon launching terthering i now get

"Unable to start tethering. Please try again". Any device can connect and "see" my hot spot but upon launching browser gets Verizon subscription page to sign up for 3G moble hot spot. So, do I first unroot and if so which method? Or can I simply run the newer Z4 root? Great work, BTW!!

i have the sprint EVO and i use temperary root and it works fine. Does this mean that Perminant root should work or no?????????

@macjohnnyb101 I would not see why not... I believe permanent root will keep you rooted if you do a reboot but temporary root will be removed after a reboot.

@killface858 Yes it is normal...the different logo and boot animation is not changed by rooting.

Will this work on the first droid? My droid was recently updated to 2.2.1

I installed Z4Root 1.3.0 and used it to root the droid but "Acquiring root shell" It just closes z4root and im back to my normal phone. It doesnt reboot. I tried, it freezes on "turning phone off" although i can pull battery out and turn on and it works fine as it was before i messed with z4root... not sure whats going wrong here :/

So just a lil FYI for anyone with the first droid attempting this... dont waste your time cuz it wont work. Find another program... i myself am still searching for a program.

this wifi tethering, i noticed the download doesnt go beyond .4 kb, which is negliglble for any connection. does anyone else have this problem?

@xlakebodomx I was not tethered to a device at the time...that’s why it is showing down .4 kb. When you are tethered and are using the app you will see very high and low oscillation when you are sending and recieving data.
