Brian was Brian Piccolo, a football player for the Chicago Bears, who died of cancer at age 26 in 1970 or therabouts. His story, including his inter-racial friendship with teammate Gayle Sayres, was the basis for the TV-movie "Brian's Song." It is the opinion of many -- including myself -- that it is the greatest TV movie of all-time.
