well John in this case did it because he made these 2 bonus songs, not in the state of mind as the other songs on The Empyrean.

He didn't have like a spiritual connection or something when he made these 2 songs, Ah Yom and Today..

So he didnt want to release it everywhere or something.. at least thats what i heard and it sounds pretty credible
