@Coco214cp OMG that was the dessert that i got almost every night! amazing. just amazing. yes, we did a tour of the island and ruins in mexico (but the guy that did it almost ran off with our money), we went to a banana plantation and also zip lined in Costa Rica, and we visited Panama City (FAR!) to where my brother was born in Panama! Not really an excursion in Panama.

@VICtoriOUScatgirl319 We went to Coba and climbed the tallest temple in Mexico ^-^. In Costa Rica we did the tram and waterfall thing, and also went to the park. And in Panama sence all the excursions were booked we just took a taxi to the Panama Canal. Because last time we took this cruise we didn't go see it.

My parents are currently talking about taking a Royal Caribbean cruise in a couple years. I was wanting to see more of Carnival, but oh well gotta try new things! :D

My father doesn't spit on anyone. I can understand not appreciating/liking his work, but I do not understand the vitriol towards a man you know nothing about. If you did know anything about him you would know that these videos are made for PR purposes to play on the ship, not a personal endeavor.

Cruise on another line. "Walmart" or no, CCL is the most successful cruise line in it's price range.

Yet nobody can express a thought on his designs, their generic effect on the market nor, and more importantly, have an opnion in how they are expressed? This video is a mess, obviously the idea of a PR intern, made your "father" look dated in his approach..the end result makes him come across elitest and conceeded. Instead of welcoming someone into his design one seems to think they out to be grateful for...

What we get is nothing more than calendar art..found abunduntly in any corner of a discount store in the country. The originality is gone, as is the excitement and curouisity. that is one thing. But, what we have with Carnival are nothing more than a mass produced deocrative theme that has long since been anything resembling original. Elements and themes who can be often found, and often confused, with the decorative theme of any Ramada and Extended Stay..like a Victoria's Secret one finds in every mall. Every designer needs a reality check when the end result becomes more about them than the work that they do. CCL has become predictable and stale.

The wing funnel design came out in the 1960s with the advent of the France..your "father" had ZERO to do with it. it is commonly known in those who follow cruise ship/ocean liner circles Carnival copied that design for its efficiency. Ironically, taken from Mickey's one time employer NCL.

Interesting...someone else owns the CCL borrowed funnel design. Again, for the record, the design came out long before CCL did and I am sure your father got his inspiration from the original wonged funnel design of the France. As far as design goes. With CCL it is always the same Vegas at sea, done on the cheap interior design found in every port. When one hears a new ship coming out, we don't need a rendering, we already know what we are getting. Another Ramada on a Raft.

That may be the way you look at it...most in shipping circles agree Carnival lifted the idea.

Please don't get me started on Costa..a company once known for innovation and luxury now has become Carnival with a yellow stack..which for many is the only way to tell the difference between the 2 brands, the stack. Merely moving Carnival designs over to Costa..I am sure that was very difficult.

RCL is ok..but Celebrity has raised the bar considerably..taking risks in doing something new.

My reaction to this video was more tothe fact the performance given was not at all humble. Instead, your father came across, to me anyway, as "aren't you lucky to be around me".

You may find RCL boring, ok fine. But at least I see there an attempt to raise the bar and introduce something different. Instead..CCL constantly uses the same design elements, same hull designs, and spreading the Farcus look over to other brands makes it less and less original..stagnant and predictable.

Was on the Freedom back in March 2009. One of the greatest 8days I've had.

Take advantage of everything they do. READ the full daily handouts. The night time is pretty good, piano bar, after hrs comedy, even the 70's club is coo. (after 1am the main staff people (mc's, dancers, etc) are out around those areas. great chance to meet them and have a good time.

I'd be more impressed with Mr. Farcus if his process was varied. Instead what we are given are ships that vary slightly in fabric and rug colors from one to the other. The leap from one vessel tot he enxt is not unemcumbered. The design process to the final product is always the same. On each ship the end result is very nice. But when you look at the whole fleet, and how the divisions are influenced by this Farconian approach the look becomes predictable and stale.

Spare no expense? custom made? sounds good till one sees the final product. Ordering styrofoam wall elements is classified as "custom made" with Carnival. Mr. Farcus is undoubtedly talented but so much is replicated throughout Carnival and it's other brands. Even the few original design elements get lost in the "been there done that" look of their vessels. Carnival/P&Os decor on Cunard's Queen Victoria is prime example of Carnival's continued need to decorate on the cheap...boring and tired.

The one thing about Carnival is that you can find certain things about the design od any ship you like. With the Freedom I will say someone hit the restraint button though not hard enough. Just when I thought the ship was looking nice you get of dose of the Mr. Farcus's intepretation of what a resort should look like. Carnival designs/spends on the cheap and it shows. Yet another "Ramada on a Raft".

but i loved itt soo much there was like minigolf, a big screen t.v and arcade and gambling places there was salso like a lloung thats like ppretty private nd kareoke and stufff

and everything was really pretty and when u go to shore u get to go on a excursion thing we went snorkeling with those flat shark things and at the coral reef and climebed the dunns river falls at jamaica
