I just remember that when someone asked me what is the most romantic thing you can think of; I answered Peter Cetera singing live at your wedding. He's got some of the best Duets. You just don't get quality songs anymore.. The bubblegum songs have little substance and very bad singers. Cetera is on my alltime best singer list.. He makes it on the list with little effort and no argument. I wish there was a Cetera/Crystal Lewis duet back in the 90's. Chaka's got lungs!

Truly one of the greatest singers of all time. There have been so few people who can sing duets with just about anyone, and have the song turn out so beautifully. In addition to this one, Peter Cetera has done songs with: Amy Grant, Crystal Bernard (cute chick from "Wings"), Madonna, Cher, and even Karen Carpenter. All of them are fantastic in their own right. You probably found this out already but if not... the album it appears on is "One More Story" -Peter's second solo release after leaving Chicago. That's a great CD by the way, you should pick it up if you haven't already. It also contains the hit single "One Good Woman" as well as the full version of the original Baywatch theme "Save Me".

I was psyched when this came out on Peter's World falling Down CD. Prior to this, he was (still is) my favorite male singer and Chaka was (still is) my favorite female singer. A unlikely pairing on paper, but the sound speaks for itself.  I beleive he had this tune set as a duet with another singer, Kathy Mattea. She got the demo and it was out of her range. Chaka got the call and the rest is amazing history.

The quality of this live performance was excellent. Vocally precise and on. But I'd expect that from Peter Cetera and Chaka Khan anyway. To be honest, I still think, "Next Time I Fall In Love" is the most effective and powerful duet he's done. With "After All" closely (VERY closely) in 2nd. This is a great song though.
