In some ways it does sound like Johnny Russell; in other ways, it doesn't...but if the poster says it is, I'll agree it is...it's just not the type of song Johnny usually sings.

In places it sounds like Jim R. But on the low notes , I can tell its not .Bottom line,they are both great.

I saw him sing this in Reading Pa back in '76. I think it floored everyone there because it sure didn't sound like big John but it was. he got a standing O. great rendition

I can not say for sure who is singing here but I can say without a doubt that this is NOT Jim Reeves. If this is Johnny Russell he did a great job but no one can sound just like Jim.

Very good but not Jim Reeves. He sure listened to Gentlemen Jim a lot to get it that close. There is a little "nasal" that gives it away.

This is Johnny Russell... It's the same arrangement as the Jim Reeves version, however the meter is different and so is the key..

Johnny, while smooth, doesn't have low ranges as clear as Jim, so it's a little higher... And the back ground is more subdued that the Jim Reeves version.
