  • By the way those specs were for 1996 5.7 vortec...todays vortec have even more power.

  • To guy that thought vortec was a supercharger....yea you grab ur internet cable and hang yourself with it. Man vortec engines have been around since 1996 and they aint slow they are actually pretty fast for all that mass they have to pull 255 horses and 335 torque.

  • hey nflfootball93, did you ride the short bus to school? not a vortecH

(notice the H there) supercharger, a VORTEC "engine". This truck, as it clearly states is a dually, which im guessing special education didnt teach you is a BIG HEAVY ASS TRUCK and not a 5 pound honda. If this motor were in a car as light as yours, it would pull on yours so hard that your spinning hubcaps from walmart would fly off.

  • why i dont get why people in american muscle claim to be so fast, is thats a vortec supercharger on there, that was slow as hell, my honda has half the cylinders and i am faster

  • @nflfootball93 Tsk. Well no shit, plus your Honda is way lighter than a truck. Stupid.

  • @nflfootball93 NOT a vortech supercharger. It had a GM 5.7L (350cid) VORTEC V8. If you don't know what Vortec is, google is your friend. I'll not waste my time explaining it to you.

  • @nflfootball93 You honda sounds like garbage and looks like a shoe box. sorry, it could go 0-60 in reverse and it would still be shit. have a nice day, troll.

  • @nflfootball93 your also an idiot for thinking vortec is a supercharger on these trucks, thats the NAME of the fucking engine vortec 350...and your a fucking homo for owning a honda...

  • @nflfootball93 leave it to a honda owner to not know what vortec is stupid fuck.

  • @nflfootball93 and your car also weighs 1500 pounds, this 3500 weighs nearly 10,000 pounds, i know cause my dad has a newer 3500 with a 8.1 big block. the engine itself weighs as much as your rice burner

  • @TheTonganoxiechief Actually, I had this one across a Cat scale in central OH one time, and with just me, thr truck, and half a tank of fuel, it weighed about 6200#. I know what you're tinking, even I thought it sounded light for an ext. cab dually, so I weighed it on another scale at a pulling track and got 6150#. Guess it really was that light...

  • 4.10's

  • It'll say what gear it has in the glovebox on the sticker....any code that starts with a G is the Gear

  • 350 power!!!!!!!!!!

  • @350chevy779 More like lack thereof. My TC stalls out at 1500RPM, which is about 500-1000RPM out of it's useable torque for a good launch, whether it's loaded or bob-tailing.

  • well i see im not the only one with a bouncy gas hand laughing to see that hehe

  • Yeah lol Grandpa's '98 K3500 Crew Dually is the same way too.

  • ok thanks!

  • Thats awesome could you do a walk around of the truck?

  • I planned on doing one soon after i made this one, but I got busy, and by the time things slowed down enough for me to make another video, the weather turned to crap. The next decently warm day I get I'll make one.

  • nice... not too shabby for a full size dually with a little 350

  • I hope to make that better. Plans on headers, cold air, and a power programmer. The power it has, is ok, but I'm only getting 12.5 MPG highway with it. My grandpa's 1998, K3500 Crew Cab, Dually, 4X4, 4L80E, and a 454 gets almost 14MPG highway. HMMMM, somfink not wight wif dis picture.

  • I got you beat there. I have an early 90's gmc dualy and its in to 20mpg rang on the highway, but I have an overdrive in mine.

  • Ya wanna rub a little more salt in that wound? ha ha

  • is it diesel? do you have a video ?

  • No shes gas. I do have a video some where but its in alot of my videos

  • alright ill browse for it

  • @ShawnCFarm By "an Overdrive" do you mean something like a GearVendors auxilliary OD?

  • @RustyCarnahan I have the 700r overdrive trans in it. Not a really good transmission to be towing with but its good on gas.

  • @ShawnCFarm Mine's got the 4L80E. How are you getting 20MPG on the highway out of that TBI?

  • @RustyCarnahan Because of the overdrive. On the highway the rpm is really low 1200 to 1500 I think around there. Its not as good when towing because I have to keep it in 3rd.

  • @ShawnCFarm OH ok. I think the difference between yours and mine is this: Mine has 4.10's in it and a .75:1 OD which puts 65MPH at about 2200. It sounds to me like yours has 3.73's or 3.42's in it and a steeper .70:1 OD, which puts cruising speed at lower RPMS. Lower cruising RPMs always means better MPGs, so, there we have it.

  • @RustyCarnahan Not sure what it has for gears, but going to find out hear shortly. I have to pull it apart and have a good look at her. The rear brakes are starting to lock up on me. I know one thing it will lay rubber really well lol

  • i see your abs lights on...mines been on for months, come to find out its the e-brake locked up

  • Yeah. It's been on since I got it. E Brake's fine though. Mine makes a scraping sound when i first start off, and then the light comes on, and the noise goes away. IDK.
