Hey Tara, What style yoga class would you recommend for someone struggling with depression (or poses to try until motivated enough to go to a class). I've had all the best intentions to try yoga this year to compliment my treatment but not wanting to try anything new is a biggie with this illness.
Tara, this is a bit of a TMI question, but when it's my time of month, I honestly don't feel like bending into bridges or doing downward dogs, are there poses that I could do that doesn't require so much bending?
@mizzcc I actually think those help the most! It gets more blood flowing in that area and helps keep it from being stiff, etc. It doesn't feel awesome when you're starting but it always makes me feel better after a bit :)
Hey Tara I was wondering if an hour of yoga everyday along with running half and hour, would help me lose weight? Also can you please a make video about your diet and what to eat for yoga?
Almost same question as EmmaZombie's. My net shearch didn't help much. I want to decorate a little room that will be my reiki, yoga & meditation room. What colours do you think the walls should be ...and any ideas for the decor (pillows, crystals or anything)? I want it to have the perfect atmoshpere, so any do's and dont's are welcomed.
Can you make your yoga books and dvds available for iPad and kindle in iTunes and the kindle book store? i am trying to keep my apartment free from clutter, especially since an iPad can take my videos and books! Thanks
Love the point on calorie counting, it's too complex what amount of calories your body will be able to use and each person probably digests at a different rate, so... yeah... and the breathe control, major focus in my practice picked up one nostril breathing from you in an earlier video another thing I enjoy is breathe in for 20 out for 20 in for 15 out 20 ... in 1 out 20, or full breath and exhale a full minute... just always breathe breathe breathe... Thank you for your help, Bless you
I love that it is ask Tara day, thank you ;-) I have been away from my yoga practice for about a month now due first to a hand injury and now an ankle/foot injury...any ideas on how I can get back into practicing without re-injuring? I am a runner and have had to stray from that too but the laziness from staying off my foot is frustrating, any help is much appreciated ;-) Happy Tuesday!
Regarding the anger issues problem, what helped me was thinking about why I'm angry, whether I can do anything about it or not and finally either acting to take care of the problem or forgiving myself and accepting my helplessness.
Dear Tara. I'd like to ask you somthing that has been bothering me a lot while practicing Yoga. I am still quite overweight yet very active(luckily heath was never an issure for me),I eat very healthy and work out every day. Among other things it's due to Yoga that I've come to the point where I can accept that I'll probably always be overweight and where I can be proud of my healthy lifestyle(even I it does not show as well as I wished it would).
it is amazing what I could learn from it in such a short time. Yoga helps me during my everyday life, with other sports I enjoy and overall my whole body and mind benefits from it. At this point, I'd really like to thank you very much for encouraging us and being the one I think about when I struggle to keep a pose just a little longer!
So now I hope you could help me with a rather practical problem I happen do have with some poses: Whenever a pose requires me to bend my body against my legs, my belly gets in the way. Allthough I do manage to get into the poses without squeezing my intestines, it still annoys me sometimes, which is especially frustrating when I'm actually very happy with my practice. Do you have any suggestions what I could do about it exept trying to focus on something else?
what are the best yoga moves for losing weight and toning up? how long should i do yoga each day if i want to keep my body toned and healthy? should i combine yoga with cardio? what should i combine yoga with?
sorry for all the questions :p hahaha. but btw, i watch your vids all the time but i recently made an account so im definitely hitting the subscribe button. keep making videos (: !

I really like the ask Tara videos. They're really interesting and helpful, and even if I don't have a question I still like to listen and learn. :)

Kudos for your anti-calories in/calories out statement, Tara. I agree completely.
A note regarding weight-loss, while counting calories I noticed I was using the food as an anti-depressant.
