Let us not personalize the issues. If both PM and Prezy were to be from Central, there would be no problem. But since the current PM does not come from Central there is noise. Just wait, if the next PM comes from GEMA, again they will change the constitution. We must be fair to all Kenyans otherwise we are heading into a total resistance.
who is PNU by the way? kiraitu and others said one thing and these greedy ones are saying another, this is just another way of derailing the process once again, with demands after the other, if waititu feels embakasy is too big for him let him step aside for some one else capable, after all he became an mp by accident
simon Mbugua, waititu everything that comes out of your mouth stinks. These nyangaus are spoiling for a war. They dont speak for the rest of the kikuyus they are speaking on their own selfish behalf.
shrine in what constitution? the reason for constitutional reform sir is not to maintain status quo. the president has had too much powers for long, kenyans are poor, kenya is too corrupt, every sector of government is broke, institutional breakdown, jobless kenyans, crime high. why should kenya keep presidential powers powerful? the reason for reform isbetter find ways to devolutionise power to the people. kenyans have demanded the powers to be trim and you sir seems like you are in lala land
these are the people who are going to lead kenya into hell. 2007 post election violence should be a lesson to these guys. when you see somebody being cut by a masheti, what is the reasoning behind it? these so call leaders think they are tough, they talk recklessly and carelessly thinking that they are untouchables. you can do everything to derail the constitutional reform process but when trouble comes board the next flight out because you will be a nobody then. talk now you will cry later
some of the MPs think Kibaki and Raila will are life time prezzo and PM. wake up mps. the draft constitution ni ya miaka zijazo. dont forget kibaki is doing his last term and raila ni Mungu anajua mambo yake.
The leplesentation must be fair...it is covered by the bill of lights (taa ama) ...must be the person who is dilectly elected by mwananchi....as enchlined in the constitution.. LOL...and @ aphrax2 stop the fucking bullshit of mentioning tribal overtone stuff like...kiuk...these are Kenyan (kiuk = Kenyans) MPs and ur MPs if u r Kenyan
stupid !!! stupid !!!stupid !! kiuk mps..kwani hao ndio wanajali constituencies pekee yao..this guys suck,I wonder who votes for some of them..you have to be careful when making choices.
This is about the control of money and greed. It is about the threat of change. It is NOT about being Kikuyu. We need to separate such misconceptions and outright tribalism.
These MPs do not care about the people but about themselves.
Wapende wasipende there will be a new katiba - devolution, with an executive PM and a head of state Prezzo.
The anti-reformist never give up easily, they will try any means necessary to maintain status quo.Maina's concern is not about wanjiku's welfare, but represents the views of corrupt imperialists who have exploited the leadership of this counrty and they don't want let it go.Enough is enough ,the power of president must be down sized.the leadership of alion was abig threat to all animals.
It's amazing how Central MP's have always held Kenya hostage dating back to Kenyatta years. Do they presume that all of us owe them our freedom? Our life? Why do they always isolate Central then pretend that the rest of Kenya has a problem with Kikuyus? The majority of Kikuyus simply want to be left alone, to do the business, their bidding! Why else would mungiki be notorious if not to scare the independent minded Kyuks what awaits? We have to to far and lives have been lost. NO MORE STALLING.
THATS EXACTLY WHAT IM SAYING.....Central Kenya pple need to come up against their leaders much like Muslims need to speak against Osama. These leaders are so bad for the PR of their pple...No one wants to associate with them because they constantly breed suspicion from other tribes...its so stupid....Kwani only Central has growing population?Only central has a problem with an executive PM?Only central deserves more CDF?Its disgusting!!REALLY...
Emotions aside Embakasi has (over 435,000 citizens) and 160,000 registered voters. Fafi Constituency has 9,339 voters. Are you suggesting these two MPs don't have reason to worry on CDF allocated proportionately? What makes a child in the Fafi deserve more than a child in Mukuru wa Njenga slums of my taxes?
Its so easy, yet wrong to think of things that way..Didnt you hear Farra Maalim? Let me ask YOU a question. If an area the size of Langata had 3million people, would it then have 60MPs?What exactly is the number suggested by Central Mps?How many people should be in a constituency? If its 40,000,the shoud we merge all the constituencies in N.Eastern and leave maybe 2 or 3 in the whole province?Building a road btn 2 districts in N.eastern is 10times as much as in Central.THINK FIRST!!Then talk.
Think First and then talk! aha I am thinking why should I care about that Fafi Constituency as a tax payer? I owe no one nothing....the Eskimo living in Baffin Island has himself to blame freezing up there while he could easily move Montreal! HOWEVER, compassion dictates I'm my brother's keeper..and he too must put his act together OK? stop cattle rustling and cross border gun trades n attend school! It will be give and take...n God for us all!
Wow...now u c that's what i said when I was talking about losing any respect for u earlier?Yeah..its ALL gone...Dont EVER cry out for justice when you have NO compassion....
@ngaiflex ; The Fafi deserve better schools and better health facilities.. the difference between between NYC and Texas is that a revolution war made them queer values e.g. GOD FOR US EVERYBODY FOR HIMSELF...yu want it yu got EARN IT! Yu want welfare or WFP maize yu surely will get it! Don't go there or our Fafi will loose out in this argument!
Here are the factors to consider.and thank goodness the people given that responsibility are educated.. 1)Yes..population 2)Infrastructure 3)Size and Distance 4)Historical Injustice 5)Security and proximity to borders 6)Ecosystem and environment 7)Health issues 8)Education levels 9)Geography 10)Communication There are many MANY more factors to consider.Dont blindly follow these guys. All they want is numbers in parliament and since they cant get it elsewhere, they are trying to manufacture them.
@ngaiflex : historical injustices...? What makes u so cork sure what YOU do today will be seen the fair deal in 2050? Why can't we all get along together...how long do you propose to live? 1,000 years? neither will I! Get along with others...life is too damn short for machetes, arguments and demonstrations!
My friend....(OR NOT...)...Ur are the problem with ur region...The distrust u get from others is because of people lyk u...u are what osama is to muslims....Ur sad really...Nway,peace out..have a glass of moratz on the house...
The bone of contention here is the CDF money. Channel that money through counties. Take into consideration the population at counties and level of their development. As for this people.. they dont speak for me!!!
it's sad that these MPs think we need more constituencies, aren't we paying them too much already???? We just need to divide CDF money according to the population, these damn MPs can't think like Martha Karua, they are all so stupid
You know its funny how its always people from the same region opposing a constitution every time we come close...Im pretty sure if Raila was president, this clown show wouldnt be there...Again,I request my brothers from Central,to travel the country a bit...there is actually a country with human beings beyond Kiambu..ul be surprised, they even walk on two legs....In any case,y dyu idiots think that ul b the sole beneficiaries?Western has just as many ppl, nyanza and rift as well.check with KBS..
"People from the same region???" "brothers from central???" these collective nouns are the bane of Kenya. If one kikuyu talks that does not mean they all talk. When you collectively condemn, you end up receiving precisely what you wanted to hear; a collective defensive posturing. It is a self fulfilling prophecy. Please, focus on what he is saying not where he is from, If you don't like it, then say that.
1)I did not mention anything to do with Kikuyus.UR paranoia took you to that conclusion.
2)I am talking about central MPs who meet in roadside pubs and come up with opinions that only they seem to agree with.
3)I DONT LIKE WHAT HE'S SAYING...Is that loud enough for you?
4)The only people who condemn people from central are THEIR LEADERS...
5)That 'self fulfilling prophecy' line is pretty cool...Lemme guess..Matrix?Underworld?which movie? So they opposed the executive chapter.WOW,THAT's NEWS!!
I wouldn't have taken MPs Maina and Bushman seriously....until such comments are made. The idea that over 9 Million people views can be summed by these two is the misplaced same primitive phobia that led small man killing small man. NUNKIE said the rest!
Well..if ur telling the truth...then I have instantly gained a little more respect for you...But if these guys actually gain lots of steam as we draw closer to the referendum then you can be sure the rest of the country will lose more respect for you yet....Lets see how that goes shall we?
A good example: People vacate forest in total compliance with a gov't directive, a few 'leaders' and losers appear on the scene and urge them back into the forests...Now me blaming the entire region and the poor victims is The Evil Matrix. Maina and Bushman don't even come close to my description of a what leadership is about! They're the face of shame I would rather not watch here or discuss. But I've only ONE VOTE!
CDF money may either be channelled through regions or county and not constituencies. These MPs fixation with constituencies is rather pathetic and by the way Bwana Ephraim PM are always elected by Parliaments. Now as for President, if one feels it is too much trouble for very little power then don't go for it, some idiot will I hope. The Mps,however, have some point on the constituences distribution but please harmonise this within regions and do not give us no constituencies no Katiba
I am a looser period but this does not take away all my analytical abilities. The little I have I will always air however stinky.Perhaps it it time for that Bird Flue mask you never used
People here and esp. RV leadership sympathizers are scared stiff of the devolution beast they so much shouted for. Wait until every region now is asked to hire pay its own teachers, build n maintain roads...c how much maize u'll grow, steal and sell to make a Jimbo thrive! Yaap and
look..people like you really are the problem..Ur clear misunderstanding of what devolution means is the problem with many Kenyans...Resources will be DEVOLVED!Not each of the regions being made autonomous....!!!get it before you spray it...Think of it as largely expanded CDF but with a governing structure enabling the pple in that region to determine their affairs..Kenya wont become a federation. That can only happen when many countries unite!US,EU etc!Itl simply divide and distribute government!
Thanks.

1 constituency with 500,000 = 1 MP
4 constituencies with 100,000 each = 4MPs
The we say that PM is chosen by the MP's, there is unfair advantage. In this existing formula.
The resolution should be
1 constituency with 500,000 = 5 MPs
4 constituencies with 100,000 each = 4MPs
This is what we call one man one vote.
These guys have a point, they just don't know how to put it across.
Think before you comment. It should not always be a tribal war. All kenyans should get equal representation.
