this has been bothering me since when she started and i thought i would finally toss in my 2 cents here, but I ALWAYS THOUGHT her raspy or what u guys are calling "terrible" voice was her style from the very beginning. that she knows shes not her sister, christina, or celine, etc... and so she plays it up sounding the way she does. there are PLENTY of singers out there who aren't classically beautiful singers and just stick to writing, and making beats.
