I think you're too focused on the unwanted children who aren't getting born instead of the unwanted children who are already born and growing up to be the leaders (or criminals) of tomorrow. The last time I check, Abortion is legal in this country. God gave the gift of procreating life to women and not men. Is having sex with children is a sin? I would think doctors carry insurance for such and occasion, and living family members do have a choice with their level of involvement with media. You have to wonder, if abortion were made illegal, how would this affect the safety of the procedure for the woman. If a woman were to have an illegal abortion, of course the foetus would be lost but the woman would also be put at risk in many cases. Surely you have to also consider the well being of the woman.

The last time I check, Abortion is legal in this country. God gave the gift of procreating life to women and not men. Is having sex with children is a sin? My mom sent me to a horrible horrible horrible Catholic school as a kid. My first grade teacher was a monstrous nun who actually discussed abortion with FIRST GRADERS (which was highly inappropriate). 6 year olds do not need to know about it. I think that if I had a choice, I'd rather have been a D and E abortion which could last for 10 minutes, than to endure the fear and distress that all those bitches at Saint Mary's school caused me for several years of my childhood.

Abortion is the choice a woman has. If she can not properly take care of a child (money, too young/old ect) then she should be able to get an abortion. I believe it is the right of the woman to have the option of having an abortion. People are going to have sex before marriage whether you approve or not. Do we really want the orphanages filled up? Or teenagers dropping out of school because they have to care for a baby? No, of course not. Its the woman's choice if she wants to have an abortion.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ allowed Himself to be viewed on the cross after what He went through. Graphic images, if used properly, can be used as a key motivator in winning hearts.

You have to wonder, if abortion were made illegal, how would this affect the safety of the procedure for the woman. If a woman were to have an illegal abortion, of course the foetus would be lost but the woman would also be put at risk in many cases. Surely you have to also consider the well being of the woman.

-c My father used to work construction- do you know the risks of broken bones and even death, asbestos poisoning, cancer from inhaling paint fumes, ect...? Does the risk in construction, or in any other medical field mean the practice should be avoided entirely? @angelshoulders I don't have post-abortion syndrome. I've been in therapy, and it's been for the abuse I underwent. I don't deny in any way that there are many women out there who do regret their choice, and who most likely made the wrong one.. I think they need help, and love, and assurance.. but that is not all women who have ever had an abortion, that is not me, and I am tempted to wonder if many of those women were bullied into PAS through other people's verbal abuse and pressure? -c

For some repression&denial works successfully.For others it shades off to manageable distress,to severe&life-changing upset&even to suicide.

But then,for some, the negative feelings bubble up&break through.Often the precipitating event is:she has a baby,or a close friend or relative has a baby that she has close contact with.She finds out she is sterile,or other life-changing events.

@angelshoulders I actually spoke to my therapist about PAS, and we discussed it, and she told me I am highly unlikely to ever suffer from it, and that she has actually treated another women for it. She tells me my emotional problems stem directly from the abuse I went through, and the knowledge that I was an unwanted child and forced on my mother... I already knew this w/o diagnoses, but all the demands from people to get therapy inspired me.. and it did help me come to terms w/ my abuse.

Case in point, many battered children, and myself included, believe or believed that they deserved to be abused, or that it was their fault... but therapists will tell you otherwise immediately. Rape victims can believe it is their fault- you were raped, help me on this- did you need therapy for any emotional trauma like what I explained?

Yes,I did go through therapy for the rape.I never suffered the guilt of abortion.is ever present in many guises,along with regret,remorse,shame,lowered self-esteem,insomnia,dreams & nightmares,flash backs,anniversary reactions. There often is hostility,& even hatred toward men.This can include her husband, & she may be-come sexually dysfunctional.Crying,despair& depression are usual, even at times with suicide attempts.

I do have flashbacks, especially of when my dad held me down and hit me w/ a belt. I can never forget that, just like I can never forget the nightmares of having my baby and ending up alone in a cold rainy alley, or being forced to hold a child while people tell em how happy I am.. and then having a panic attack from imagining it getting hit like me.

@angelshoulders Then you can understand battered women/children, rape victims, and those who suffer verbal abuse all come from the same place.. That is why I think PAS is both a real case, and is the result of verbal abuse or manipulation from outside sources for others. Verbal abuse is another thing I'm in therapy for.. and one of the reasons I do have a violent streak when I hear something I REALLY don't like, and why certain curse words like 'little bitch' make me go off. It fried my nerves.

@angelshoulders No, that was just an example in correlation to why PAS is likely so prominent- verbal abuse through guilt, manipulation, lies, even battery and/or fear tactics have probably put many women in that depressive position... not that I think PAS is a lie- I know it is a real emotional problem, but I think some of it comes from pro-life verbal abuse.

In the first 10 years after abortion was legalized in US, child abuse increased by over 500%. An unprecedented rate.Legal abortion made it o.k. to see our 'wants' to be more important then children's needs.

There is no bigger invasion of privacy than for the gov't to say whether or not we *must* bring children to term. If the gov't can dictate such things, then its a loss of freedom.

In the years from 1963-1969, there were an average of approximately 55 deaths per year due to illegal abortions. In 1970, after this initial wave of laws legalizing abortions, there were 109. Deaths from illegal abortions increased.
