i have been doing everything right, watching the start and finish vids, every single one. and i have attempted a hat at least 5 times, but it just gets a lot of those bumps and it goes frilly, im using the right hook too. is there any way i can do it right?!

I made a scarf with the double crochet using these tutorials, and now my hat is coming along nicely. I like that each round is broken down into separate videos with starting and finishing.

this is the only turitual that ive ever actually learned to crochet from! Seriously,, ive tried learning patterns and things but this woman is the only one ive ever learned it from, hat and scarves, i'd love to see a mitten turitual

When I made this hat I noticed that looked more boxie(sp) than yours. Like it would go over a toilet paper roll and fit perfectly. What did I do that caused that to happen? I used a J hook for the project.
