  • So beloved.

    Never forgotten.

  • Her husband killed her by infecting her with AIDS. She contracted the virus because he was a dip-shit, Methamphetamine (also, some Cocaine) addict, who used intravenously(w/ needles). He infected himself in the early 90's w/out telling her AT ALL. But, Karma came around and he died of a Meth overdose in '01. God Bless Ofra. She kept her dignity, faith and humility 'til the end. There will never be anyone like her again; NEVER! She was an anomaly. R.I.P., dear Ofra!

  • Wonderful post. :)

  • her husband was a drugs addict,he was rusian, she got infected with out she knew, she find laiter one she her husband was on the clinic, she got the divorce, and he died after her 4 years laiter

  • she was married until the end? or she divorced when she knew she infected ? how the husband infected himself?

  • He was a drug addict. Maybe he got it from a needle or something, i don't know. But, you know what? In fact he did infected her, and he didn't died of the HIV but of an overdose.

  • too bad.. he should know how it feels

  • All her fans will miss her...what's the name of this video song ?

  • The name of this song is "Kaddish". Kaddish is a jewish prayer.

  • Normally addressed to the dead, to be precise.

  • what a tragic loss to this world. Such a beautiful voice.

Lets remember that a funeral among men is a welcoming among angels.

  • I am sorry this has happen she had a wonderful voice does anybody know how it happen I know so little about her thanks everyone

  • HIV. She got it from her husband.

  • Even though it has been 7 years since Ofra Haza passed away, I still feel the pain and depression due to her death. I really love her songs which have beautiful tune and lyrics. May God Bless her soul.

    Regards,

    Zailan from Singapore

  • She was/is and she will be the greatst singer of all times, the person full of light and kindness .... she had such tragic destiny yet she could find happiness everywhere ... even in the most dark periods of her life. Rest in peace Ofra. We pray for you and for love and peace on this planet.

  • Voice of an Angel..............

  • she truely was the best voice the world will ever know

  • Can anyone tell me what this wonderful song is called, Ofra is singing? Thank you.

  • Kaddish from Desert Wind album 1989

  • Oh thanks!

  • Of course it was not an insult....my sarcasm is not a reflection of you chas v'shalom...but of the overly commercialized American media which completely disregards talented and brilliant people of foreign nations just to spoon feed us drivel about Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson until we want to choke. I was pretty shocked that no mention was made of her passing when they ("People") reviewed all of her albums when she was under contract with Warner.

  • There is some truth in that- Britney is a good example; Jessica Simpson is talented but trying hard to be ridiculous like Britney- I dont get it. But without that American Media, it would be a much darker world out there. You think the Arab Emerites would be promoting English singers if they were the medial mogals? No, they would not. Just asking for fairness. I did hear the announcement of her passing on an LA radio, and I wept.

  • No. I only trying to ask a question. It was not meant as a insult. Yet if it was I'm terribly sorry. I know one thing for certain Ofra Haza is indeed a talented woman who left this world way too soon.

  • There is no such a thing as a "video clip" of Ofra's death in English. She died in Israel and the only media that covered it was "Maariv" and the other Israeli newspapers. People magazine never even bothered to mention it. Do you think MTV sent a crew over to interview her grieving parents?

  • I saw it on BBC within a couple of days and was so depressed I never got to see her live :(

  • She was a classy performer and sounded live exactly as she sounded on her recordings. She was very slight of build but had an amazing lung capacity and incredible natural beauty. She always connected with her audience.

  • The radio station, KROQ in Los Angeles announced her passing- that is the radio station that played her music- an alternative rock station. When I heard the news, I cried, not knowing why- I had only a couple of recordings at the time and didn't realize how powerful they had been to me, and still are ... I miss her, and her music is a blessing.

  • Well that's not exactly what I meant. What I meant is by any chance post a video clip of Ofra Haza's death in English is what I meant.

  • "The Family of Ofra Haza and the Sheba Medical Center announce with great pain and sorrow of the passing of Ofra Haza (of blessed memory). Ofra clung to life for 13 days in the hospital's ICU. She was hospitalized on Saturday night with a grave condition. Shortly thereafter she experienced a powerful failure of the organs essential to sustaining her life. In spite of this care, Ofra's heart was stilled tonight at 19:40 hrs. We console her pained family. May her memory be for a blessing."

  • Respectfully -- thank you for the translation. Very kind of you!!

    Blessings.

  • Her memory will always be for a blessing. Amen.

  • Would anyone by chance have the english version of news of Ofra Haza's death?
