Holy crap, is that left-handed playing?! This is a great performance, good for you! Quite impressive, I love tapping, that is some of my favorite stuff. I'd suggest you look up my favorite song with tapping, Yes- Rhythm of Love. There isn't much on the solo, but it's awesome! :)
Very nice. It's nice to see when a flashy technique like this is done tastefully. This doesn't come off as shred for the sake of shred. It seems to have a purpose and feeling behind it.
@PassionOfGuitar yea, and that's what he was using if you weren't paying attention. He passed the foot tapping syncing with metronome and guitar notes test.
huh? tapping is the art of hammer ons and pull offs. i can see what youre getting at but the fact is he is tapping even though its not the typical tap with one hand and hammer on/pulloff with the other. the reason its tapping cuz hes not picking.
let me rephrase so even you can understand. he is just tapping using 4 fingers on one hand each. he is not using 8 fingers at the same time. he will start tapping with his right, then stop with his right, then start tapping with his left. hope you can read this time =P. fucking prick =D
well if you used all 8 fingers at the same time, it wouldn't be finger tapping. it would be chordal tapping plus 2 on the fingers still wouldn't be contributing to the sound.
oh because how dare anybody attempt to be inventive or creative with their musicianship. Everyone should play 4 chord progressions for every song too, cause that's how its always been, and that's how it should be.
very nice..+++++...but you should check out a guy called Enver IZMAILOV...he is much much much better....(in 8 finger tapping compare to this video :)
dropdead? lol are you a dumb scene piece of shit? i think you are, judging by your name. find something that has not beein used before....( drop dead gorgeouse or that gay fucking singer's clothing company)
Yeah youre right, it makes sense that i use my dominant hand to fret... i actually think i would have made less progress if i went and bought that left handed guitar... right now i cant even imagine picking with my left hand haha
people that say this is musiclay crap should be split open and choked with their intestines and hung with them from the side of a cliff take that youtube
so you say this is musicaly perfection? melody played from the heart? urhmm. noo this is just showing of how fast you can do a pentatonic scale with 8 fingers.. about the same as showing how much push ups you can do. NOTHING about this is music. Listen some John Lee Hooker, Eric clapton or if you like metalstuff; Tool, Dream theater and Porcupine Tree. That is called music. this is just showing of. and btw if you want to play notes with all your fingers BUY A FUCKING PIANO!
The video isn't called Takakazu Nakamura - Beautiful Work of Art, it's called Takakazu Nakamura - Eight Finger Tapping. What did you expect? It's a guy demonstrating a technique. Lots of people make great music using all of their fingers on the fretboard. Look up Andy Mckee. Dream Theater fucking blows, first off. And second John Petrucci absolutely adores tapping, so I don't really understand your reasoning. The more fingers you use, the worse it gets? What a dumbass. Me FTW.
I was replying to a comment of a guy who was bitching to someone else because he said he cant tap this well but his comosition was better. the other guy was like: NOH BUT THIS IS PERFECTION BLAHBLAHBLAH! YO UCANT PLE YMUSIK LOLOLOL!!!111oneone!1
so I replied that this is nothin' more than showing off, this is no music.
that was my point and nothing more..
have a nice day and I love andy mckee
OH =D and about the video; this guy is technically very good thats all
really man why you gotta talk about me behind my back first of all don't make fun of pianos and also i think if you go drink from the fountain of dicks you have at your house you would calm down i like all music. if you really want a good guitarist muchbetter than any of the guitarists that you mentioned watch buckethead play
arghhl ¬¬ Im getting tired of this.. LISTEN! I agree this is some well done guitar skill. I bet he can play 10× better than me but I was just saying that this has nothing to do with music. This is fretboardmasturbation. Same skill as doing 1000 push ups or whatever. Music: 0% Fast fingermovement skill: 100%
Btw I like buckethead he is one of my favourite guitarists but that is because he has got a really cool composition. Playing a pentatonic scale fast doesnt make it music PEACE no fight
so wioth 0% fingermovement u can play music? stop being such a fucking dumbass. it may not directly be nmusic but its an indicator of technical prowess. for example, being good at doing basketball drills like dribbling between ur legs may not be helpful in a game but is good coordination practice
okey, for the last time, I agree that he may be very good at guitar playing, I think about 100 times better than me, I was just saying this has nothing to do with music. For example: when you can masturbate really really really fast, or you can move your butt up and down like hell do you think a girl will EVER say, 'you did an awesome job'? No, why? because speed doesn't count. It makes it more difficult but It doesn't make it better. She will not like your sex nor your guitarplaying. DONE
how come when a professional guitarist (chris broderik) does 8 finger tapping and its called amazing music but when an amature guitarist like this one here does it and its called not even music?
and imo it is music because it clearly has a devolped line and certain scales/modes in some parts
maybe not music to you but music to others...ever think of that? =]
@jonorancid i never said he was better than chris broderik and im in no way disrespecting Chris
and,
being a pro is only being paid to do what you do....not because you are better than a non-pro.....look at fallout boy....they're all pros but they are all shitty.....just saying
but still music has NO LAW thats why if you take a music class its called music THEORY :)
i still stand by my opinion about what i said before in my previous comment
@afrokidguitarist I know you posted a year ago, and I'm sorry for replying, but you're one hundred percent right, which is wrong of the music industry :/
@afrokidguitarist Because when they here people like Chris Broderick doing it, they are hearing it in the context of a song. If this had the right backing track, people would like it.
Also, from my personal experience, you can put it down to most people being idiots haha
@00Ibanezist00 yeah if it had a good backing track he wouldnt be getting slammed as hard
but still
like the song in death and healing (idr the band atm it'll come to me later in the day) there's a sweeping part that has no backing...maybe keys idr exactly and it sounds amazing
@afrokidguitarist Because Chris us doing arpeggiations, chords, interesting interval choices and cadence theory. Not that Nakamura isnt skilled, but not as skilled as he could be. I learned how to do scales with both hands within a few weeks with regular practice. playing poly-rhythms, basslines and melodies are a different story.
@stevesellers yes but this video isnt on poly-rhythms bass lines. its just displaying a tech skill.
you cant judge him on this video of him being worthy of the likes of chris. noone can be a chris. but still i made my comment based on what people were saying/reacting to this video...calling him shit and saying this is non musical.
i don't deny the man has incredible skill, but saying this is music is like saying scoring hoops from the 3-point line is a game -- it's a demonstration of musical talent and ability, but its not proper music*
*or at least not fully developed music - you could build a song around it...
@afrokidguitarist Well, this isn't used exactly in a musical context; making it differ from Broderick. It is a great display of technique, but this is more of a demonstration as opposed to musical application.
@afrokidguitarist Well, Broderick's video is of greater quality and he has employed it in songs and live performances. His technique is better as well. They both deserve praise.
@EddieTh3Ead im not trying to take any praise away from Broderick.
like art....people love Picasso but i can drink paint and piss it on canvas and it'll look better. just cuz someone is famous doesnt mean they're the best.
but again im not trying to take anyone's praise away
@afrokidguitarist In Broderick's case at least, fame is deserved. I do find him to be better than this guitarist. And on average, most people do as well. That is why he gets the praise. Not trying to take away from this man, though. Cheers.
i think you're saying they try to excel in everything everyone else does, and i agree with you because ive observed it a lot. of course it doesnt go for all of them, i try not to stereotype.
