I say the make a reboot of the Miami Vice Movie and get the Original actors to reprise their roles. Hollywood just pay them what ever they need, I guarantee you will make a profit and then some????
it sounds like a synthesizer, Jan Hammer probably. he did a lot of very cool and unique music for this show. if Ed respects him, he (Jan) must be good.
"stoicism" and "Taciturn"? man, i have to look those words up in the ole websters collegiante dictionary.
stoicism: indifference to pleasure or pain.
taciturn: reluctant to talk.
taciturn? yeah, thats me. i look at the walls or doorways or windows and make minimal eye contact. i've heard your small talk before, boring.
it sounds like a synthesizer, Jan Hammer probably. he did a lot of very cool and unique music for this show. if Ed respects him, he (Jan) must be good.
Like theratfarmer said, this is Jan Hammer score from the tv show. The first part with the flutes sounds like the middle of 'Colombia'; the later part is 'Golden Triangle'.
Edward James Olmos' "Castillo" to me is one of the greatest characters in any TV-show. A true masterpiece in stoicism. He is something every leader should aspire to become: supreme authority without even having to raise a voice. Taciturn, intense and yet always in control. Impenetrable, demanding but deeply caring. The perfect enigma; the source of endless fascination. Watch and learn, squirts.
Because it was 1 week away from being made into a Movie till the Studio shut it down,, I'll try and find that vietNip song that starts the beginin for ya
It's called Russian Story and it doesn't start at the beginning of the track. Do you happen to know, which track would be the one at the beginning of the video? That's something I would like to know...
Definitely one of my favorite plotlines of the series. Castillo should have had more episodes. I bet they really only scratched the surface as far as his depth goes.
Apparently Olmos was the only one they asked to be in the 2006 movie; Olmos as Castillo and Fox and Ferrel as new vicers. Since Olmos said no, they decided to just have Fox and Ferrel play Crockett and Tubbs. A shame, wouldve made more sense that way.
Every once in a while a video comes along that captures brilliance...this one has. I suspect there are very few people today who know all the in depth plots of Castillo, but this has managed to cram most of them in. BUSHIDO FOREVER!
That was awesome. It's too bad the writers/producers lost their interest in the show. They could have done so much more with the talents of Edward James Olmos.
Outstanding. It would be really cool if a modern, nowadays movie could be setup somewhere along the lines of Heat or Collateral. That would be awesome.
Great video. A good episode with Castillo playing a main part is "The Rising Sun Of Death" from season four. Castillo was one of the things that made the show so great if there were problems in between the vice squad.
I think the Castillo theme you hear around :42 - 1:29 is different than the version you'd get from the Jan Hammer Miami Vice album. What is played here in this trailer is different than the album version. It sounds like this was taken straight from an episode, not Hammer's CD.
The first flashbacks with the long hairtail where from that episode with the black guy killing hookers because one cut of his balls and now he got pissed and started killing hookers in nam and miami.
holy shit Adama looks different

I totally AGREE with LuvBigbutt. I couldn't understand why hllywood didn't have the original cast play in the movie, would have been way cooler.

maybe beacause making a movie in 2006 with C.Farrel and J.Foxx was more appropriate

I see your point, either way, if hollywood do a sequel from the resent miami vice movie I know I will go see it anyway, no need for me to deny it.

I think they could've at least given Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thompson a cameo in the movie.
