  • Read Douglas Graham's books The 80/10/10 Diet; Grain Damage, Rethinking the High-Starch Diet; and Nutrition and Athletic Performance. High-fat, low-carb diets raise insulin levels. The durian is 30% fat from calories, too high. Live on raw fruits (not high-fat fruits) and greens. I highly, highly recommend reading The 80/10/10 Diet book. Search for doug graham fitness stunts on YouTube, and you'll see what is possible. Very few nuts and seeds per day are ok, but you don't need them.

  • Oh im so pleased for you, love and light, Graham! :)

also, do you know Reece Jones?

  • @derrynator no I do not know Reece Jones, who is he?

  • @GrahamAndFriends well, he is another interesting youtuber. He does videos about lucid dreaming etc and also well, its too difficult to explain so you should watch his video series called the awakening (it will blow your mind)

his youtube user name is reecejones87 (youtube won't let me post a link for some reason) :D

  • You are extremely morbidly obease, and so am I, I am a vegan, but as staded, still as fat as a cow. Will this help with the weight loss? has it help you so far? I feel so much more healthy being vegan, but the weight still isnt shifting.

  • @arieloz I was a raw food vegan not a cooked food vegan. I tried it for about 6 weeks, it was good. I go to the gym now, but still need to control my eating.

  • @GrahamAndFriends try it again and stick with it just drink organic green juice for 3 or 4 months no fruit ! to get all the sickness out of your body then move to the fruits smoothies and nuts and seeds and keep getting those dark leafy greens in you

  • My missus is diabetic type 1 your doing a smart thing but you can eat meat just eat fish, and low fat red meat, Currys are good light stirfry but cook in good oil or steam. Lay off the booze and walk, But lots of swimming. Those wet areas in the gyms are good you know they got the sauna and spar and plung pool and a heated pool. Don't do heavy excesise. You need to keep your arterys pumpin blood. Join the Diabetic accosiation you get a book off them. or check here for diabetic food. Cheers

  • Durians are fantastic.

  • Hes craving that like some fatties crave over kfc

  • Apparently durian smells disgusting.

  • it definitely does.

  • more vids... PS... do u crave a big fat juicy carb yet? theyre my weakness

  • Diet is one thing, exercise is also a major component in healing your body.

    Small steps. Great video.

  • good luck!

So, are you gonna make a series of videos about your journey to get healthy?

  • watch my vlogs!

  • Your positive attitude is infectious Graham. I am on the other end of the scale, a bit too thin. I hope you maintain a vegan diet once you have lost the weight you need to, for the sake of our sentient animal friends! Your comments about your body being a vessel and you being the custodian resound deeply with me, and I sure with many other people of many different spiritual persuasions and beliefs. Keep it up and enjoy your new vessel when you get to America!

  • oh my.. must try Durian.. 0_0

  • @torrmeg89 it stinks in real life. it's an acquired taste

  • need i say any more?

    a teacher teacher studients to learn 20 - 30 in a class

but you are teaching the whole world. and trust me most people these days have fat problems.

soo goodjob mate. real good of u

  • :-) Keep it fruity, Graham. Lovely video.

  • hahahaa I saw u grimace at the first bite and then u put it back into the bowl.

but u have to be careful with durians too, many of them are grown with strong pesticides such as furadan and some types of growth hormones.

    find some organic ones.

  • we can only get the frozen ones in coles at the moment. I will check if I can get them from tropical fruit world in northern new south wales.

  • I am so happy for you Graham! Keep it up!

  • this guy would eat your car's tires and then ask for seconds -

  • how rude.

  • i never had that... it looks sticky tho...

  • love durian, cant believe some people hate it, its so tasty!

  • Good luck mate, I hope it turns out well for you.

  • Graham, you have to try raw pumpkin seeds. They're amazing. :)

  • lol, i was in singapore a few years back and never tried durian,,, I wonder if they sell the stuff here in new zealand??

  • That's really cool mate, I know for a fact that this life style change will really work for you. Good for you.

  • Now I wish I had a durian. Lol.

  • you will shit like a flying fox

  • good luck mate, love the crazy eyes too haha

  • 0:19 its cum, 'OH YUM!'

  • Very funny. It took 2 minutes to get to the point

  • Good luck! Hope the new diet works well for you.

  • exercise and healthy eating are a cornerstone of any diet. wish you all the best.

  • Men mak mak.....Falung ben bar...

  • I presume that "Men mak mak......Falung ben bar" is Thai for "Very Very stinky......Westerners are crazy" meaning that westerners are crazy to eat smelly durians.

  • Chai Khap......

  • i didnt watch the whole thing lol lol lol

now i am going to - i lurv custard apples

coffee flavoured onion soup sounds tantalising in custard form yike

  • GO GRAHAM!!! YOU CAN DO IT!

  • If you want to heal your body stop eating KFC, Red Rooster etc and start eating right (no vegetarian/vegan bullshit either) and do some EXERCISE.

  • dude - its been proven OVER and OVER again many foods require cooking to release enzymes and nutrition. Ask your local University. Dont rely on New age "Assumptions". Universities have data that Raw Food eaters health deteriorate over time. Good luck tho.

  • you cheer my every day

  • How do you know a durian is ready to eat raw? Is it soft or something, or is there no way to tell?

  • when you buy them they are ready to eat.

  • dude put a shirt on please ill u look more healthy , eat well just please dress for the camera

  • i been vegan 20yrs.

Durians stink to high heaven, dunno how you can concentrate with that stench in front of you.

i encourage you all the way, go for it. but i also have some trepidation about your motive, reckon ur doing it for this whole youtube channel persona you want to create.

But if thats what u need to get your goals fulfilled, who am i to judge?

    Good Luck

Oh, i recommend the vegan alkaline diet, not raw vegan. go raw after alkaline if you really want.

  • strangely I like the smell and taste of durian.

why do you think I am doing this for a youtube channel persona? I am doing this for my health and to heal my body. I want to get rid of diabetes.

I have friend who have been raw vegan for a long time and they are very healthy.

  • only my intuition graham, could be wrong. as i said no judgement from me.

would prefer you focus on the positive of my message and the tip on alkaline diet.

focus on wats good for you, that is the purpose of my response to give a balanced opinion.

i travelled through durian capital in malaysia, and i almost vomited as i came into the town, no thanks....

  • me being raw does provide a alkaline diet, that is one of the reasons I am doing it, with the enzymes and other stuff too.

  • Stay raw vegan, YOU CAN DO IT.

  • This was like watching the scene in star wars return of the jedi, when jabba the hut dips into that jar and pulls out a rat thing, then eats it.

  • yes, something like that.

  • you will be small (tiny) compared 2 americanoes !

  • I've never tried it.. I'll have to search it out

  • durian has a strong flavour and smell Perry, I hope you like them.

  • "DURIAN" is that some sort ov secret ocker tree ? Wouldnt worry about it bro, u fit in wiv all the other aussies !

  • Graham, durian isn't good for you if you want to lose weight. I would advice you to check the contents and effect of such exotic fruits. (;

  • I have checked durians out. I will still eat them as part of my plan.

  • mate ur gold, go for it

  • thank

  • nice video check out mi channel

  • durian is sooo fattening!

  • I tried that and aimed for 6 months.. I was so sick after 1 month my GP told me I would end up in hospital if i didnt start eating normaly. I would suggest you get bloods done now as a base line. 200 days is a very long time, I hope you are working with someone that can advise you well on keeping up enough CORRECT amino acids, protein, calcium and iron etc. STAY SAFE!

  • I have researched raw vegan for a few years actually, but now I am doing it properly.

  • that part about being the spirit in the body was a real eye opener for me.. thanks for this vid!

  • Good on you! I am a vegan and did the raw thing years back for 5 years. Was fantastic! I wish i could do it again but there is a shortage of raw vegies/fruit where i live....well i only eat organically . Ah well will do it again one day but will continue to be a vegan as it is great

  • It's a good thing you're doing for yourself, buddy! I did a similar thing for 20 days went on a raw fruit and veg diet, and lost about 6 kilos.

But I had to stop though, because I got sick which messed up my diet so II had to stop for a little while! But now that I'm all better I am ready to go back to my 8 serves of fruit and veggies a day too. :]

I wish you all the best, and look forward to updated on your progress! xx

Oh, and I can't really say I'm as keen on durian as you seem to be.. haha!

  • ***i was sick with a throat infection btw, NOTHING to do with the diet ahah, i get on and off tonsillitis.

  • go for it brotha u can do it

  • Good luck Graham:-)

  • man u must be so lonely

  • why do you say that?

  • Usually i would abuse anyone that large eating on camera. But this guy just seems so nice and geniune.

    Best of luck.

  • thanks.

  • Good luck mate.

  • check out Annalakshmi, if there is one near you it will help you out alot! good on you man

  • they look yummy

  • "erotic" and "ecstasy"

nice choice of words Graham. anyways, you have diabetes? i heard that it's really bad, but is it really that bad? i'm surprised that i never got diabetes. for about over a year i didn't really do anything and i drank a lot of coke. and the thing about being thin and healthy, your right. i only recently got back in shape since i got a little unhealthy during that time period.

    you can do it Graham.

  • yes diabetes is bad. It can cause kidney damage, eye damage, it damages the nerves.

  • Graham says "heal my body" 23 times :)

  • because that is the main reason I have chosen to be raw vegan, to heal my body.

  • i understand that :) just saying

  • Graham looks too fat to be a vegan. Unless your one of those unlucky souls who have a legitimate condition, it's hard to get that fat without being highly inactive or eating a tonne of crap food.

People should definitely eat less meat and avoid processed crap like the plague.

  • I have just started to be a raw vegan at the beginning of jan 2010. My starting weight was 230 kgs.

  • coo coo coo coo

  • sweet coffee flavored onion soup?

  • sounds yummy hey?

  • Graham is fuckin hot!!

  • Durians - king of fruit. Where do you get them?

  • are local Coles sells them.

  • A lot of people actually take plant enzymes because they help break down food in the stomach. Other than that your normal enzymes do the rest. Just make sure you get lots of protein and calcium. None of this bullshit people are saying about dairy, it's not bad for you, it's only bad if you eat too much and the full fat version.

    I have a feeling you're going to starve..which isn't healthy.

But good luck anyway, if it works thats fantastic.

Let yourself have one treat a week too!

  • I will not starve, I have plenty to eat.

  • Hi Graham, good on you for trying the vegan thing. I've been vegetarian for almost 7 years now and feel good for it but the dairy and processed food is still not healthy. I think I'll try your thing and eat totally fresh and totally raw - because cheese (and dairy), whilst vegetarian, isn't so brilliant for us.

Been watching your videos for a while but this one is by far my favourite - you're inspired me!

  • try going raw for 30 days chipko.

  • You can fucking do it Graham, you're a wonderful person.

  • I need meat, i would find it hard to give it up and go vegan.

Good luck buddy, you must be pretty strong in mind.

  • I want maximum healing for my body, that is why I am raw vegan for the next 200 days.

  • you're an inspiration!!!!!!

  • Dont forget tomatoes, but ive been told to boil them a little to release nutrients, full of good stuff

  • I eat raw tomatoes.

  • is that a custard apple ????

  • well after watching my video, you know it is a durian!

  • Get into your hypnotism buddy.

  • Go Graham!

I'm a vegetarian my parents are vegan. I cant believe how healthy they are for their age. Hope it all works well for you, more power to ya mate!

  • There's all sorts of awesome things you can make to get delicious foods with varied textures. Check out the videos for raw pizza on youtube. I've made a great raw carrot cake with cashew icing. Oh, and those mango spring rolls were very good!

  • I reversed all proteinuria thru raw food, it does work mate, all the best!

  • you will not last. no offence but you are so overweight graham your calorie intake needs to be a lot higher than raw vegan food.

  • I believe in you Graham! I'll teach you how to make raw pizza, raw crackers, and other raw vittles. I just went shopping!

  • harrie, they are enough calories in raw food for me.

  • Graham, you are 100% correct. We are not our bodies, they're just biological machines we walk around in. Like all machines they need maintenance and when damaged, they need to be repaired. You are doing the right thing and I support you all the way. I know you will do it because it's part of your mission in life to teach others with your humour and courage. Cheers mate, Graeme!

P.S. Doesn't Durian smell like shit?

  • The small of a Durian has been likened to an uncleaned toilet but the taste is suppose to be divine. Personally I think the taste is not all the great. It just tastes a lot better than it smells.

  • well Chris, if you visit Brisbane while they are still selling durians, then I will buy some and you can try them.

  • I did eat some durian when I visited Thailand one time. I can tolerate the smell but I did not find the taste especially compelling.

  • read a book called ''bhagavad gita as it is''

  • kudos to you for making some healthy changes!!

  • Y'know what graham, I already regretted trying to tell you what to do before you posted this, I know you're serious about being vegan so I'll shut my mouth and not be negative, instead I'll say (using rob schnieders voice from water boy) "You can do it!"

  • thanks

  • Don't Durians stink?

Heal your body and be even more awesome!

  • I've had durian, they do stink to high heaven, and they have the oddest flavor.

  • durians have a strong smell and taste, but I like them

  • I've never tried a durian before; although I tried mangos and I swear it smelled like vomit - or is it just me?

On a good side, being a raw vagan should mean lower electricity bills lol

  • i'll try durian graham :) and good luck!

  • Hard boiled Durian flavoured lollies. I gagged on them. Worst fruit ever! You're one brave soul, that's for sure!

  • I take it you talked to a dietician before starting?

  • my doctor has approved this.

  • good stuff

  • wat that ur in the raw ??? i want that presciption lol lol lol

  • mmm it's so nice to see you in the raw graham....wait...what? lol

weak coffee flovored onion soup in custard form. yep sounds appetizing to me. (retch) although i wouldn't mind eating the nuts of fruits. who said that? lol

  • one more thing, eat oranges. lots of em, vitamen c helps with the immune system, plus oranges are just good as hell.

  • Good plan sir. You can do it! I've tried durian a couple times. People have described it as sweet garlic flavored Limburger cheese. In some countries it is illegal to carry one on the subway, because of the powerful smell.

  • There has to be something wrong with your sense of smell. Durians stink!!!

  • in the words of the great Graham. " Its a durian! Nom Nom Nom!"

  • I often thought about sugesting you try a vegi diet graham:)

I think you'll find it difficult going straight into a raw vegan diet and it would perhaps be better to try vegitarian 1st until your body gets used to processing other types of food. I think you should eat some eggs and raw oily fish periodically to keep your omega 3 levels up.

I wish you all the best and watch out for avocados and some nuts as these contain a very high calorific content.

    peace:)

  • Thats awesome! I'm a vegetarian and that is hard enough.

I could not imagine going raw vegan!

Good luck on the 200 days Graham!

    I couldn't do it! : )

  • Raw food vegan diets ARE NOT HEALTHY!

  • that is not true danny.

  • It is true. the vegan diet is everything but healthy, it lacks a lot of vitamins, B12 for instance is missing completely, you also have to deal with the lower quality of plant protein. All this makes a vegan diet a very single-sided, not to say risky one.

  • B12 is the only nutrient that is not in the right amounts, everything else can be obtained on a raw vegan diet.

  • It is true that B12 is the only nutrient that can't be obtained on a raw vegan (or any vegan) diet, but there are still many (protein, iron) that are very difficult to get in high enough quantity and quality in such a diet.

The healthiest people in the world are the Japanese. They do eat a LOW meat diet, but they don't cut it out entirely. I admit it's tempting to accept something like raw veganism, but to be really healthy isn't so simple.

  • I am going raw for 200 days, so I am sure I will be alright.

  • Well yeah so long as it's not permanent you'll be fine. And it will definitely help you lose weight.

  • danny, the focus for being a raw vegan is to heal my body. But fat reduction is a result too.

  • Healing your body of what exactly?

  • Danny, I tell you in the video.

  • No, you don't. You simply say that your body needs healing. Healing is when your body has a problem and you fix it. What exactly is the problem your body has? Diabetes? That certainly won't be cured by a raw vegan diet.

  • This body has diabetes, and raw vegan food will help heal that. Besides I do not know what other damage I have done to my body by being this obese for such a long time.

  • @GrahamAndFriends Hi Graham, was just wondering if there was any moral aspect to this decision? Or did you just decide to do it for the health benifts?

  • danyboy, many people have found that they could reverse diabetes and even heal the damage it seems. Gotta keep off the processed foods - raw veganism is ideal.

Don't bother asking your doctor about it though...

  • Why shouldn't I ask a doctor?

  • Because asking a doctor would be talking to an expert. We can't have that.

  • Hey you should make it a long term life style change.

  • God gave you a great spirit!

  • thanks Frankie.
