  • God hates dumbasses

  • "Fear does terrible things to a society..."

Yes, indeed. I wish we would grow up as a society. In many ways, we are moving backward toward a new dark age and not forward to an enlightened one.

  • "If homosexuals were allowed their constitutional rights then so would prostitutes or thyeves or anyone else." NEWSFLASH LADY! Prostitutes, thieves, and EVERYONE ELSE already have their constitutional rights. Because this is America and they SHOULD. End of effing story.

  • Fellow Christians, don't judge.

  • Watch Brokeback Mountain people, Bible-Thumpers.

Love is love. Period. No argument.

Indoctrination is fascism and the "spreading the word of god" is the Catholic equivalent of Sharia Law.

If it was up to the Catholics, America would become a religious Tyranny... again, the same people who ruthlessly condemn Sharia Law.

Systematic hypocrisy isn't far away from schizophrenia.

  • I prefer Tolkien's books...

  • I'm a lesbian genderqueer (which I don't even know if that's a possible identity), AND I'm Catholic. I have always felt extremely out of place in both communities until I watched this. I'm extremely progressive in both settings. I push the comfort levels of both communities. I don't believe that one religion or even being religious is going to stop you from going wherever, whatever higher power deems "heaven". luckily, I've been blessed with open minded churches. this documentary saved my life.

  • Abomination to eat shrimp? Has God even tried coconut shrimp? That shit is delicious.

  • Being gay MAY be a sin IDK but if it is so is lust, so is killing, stealing and we all are forgiven so leave people alone let them like what they want. Longs as it aint my girl Im cool.

  • @MrNsirwilliams that's the problem- being gay shouldn't be lumped in with "lust," "killing," and "stealing."

a person doesn't need to be forgiven for being gay.

  • @AchromaticMoth I've been told it's not a sin for me to be a gay, it's a sin to commit gay acts. So, just commit to a life of celibacy and misery and it'll be totally fine. No forgiveness necessary....Yeah, that's not happening. XD Sadly, I was told this by a man from my parent's church who is gay himself and believes he has to live like that. It's really depressing.

  • Man created god, man created god in his own image. God takes place to fill our need for a father, a mother, a comfort figure to ensure that we have a point in this existence. It allows us to try to make rational out of what is truely irrational.

God doesnt exist. Life's a bitch and no matter how much you accomplish in life in the end the universe and time will see you no more significant than a fly.

  • @rudygetsplenty if your going to debate the bible please have your facts in order. God created light the first day and created the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day. So he had light before the sun. But even if he had created the sun the first day would you really believe god created our sun on a random tail of our galaxy and then created all the other stars around it? Why not just go with the much easier explanation of gas and matter coming together from gravity?

  • OHH this movie. OHHH it's so super scary, the trailer doesn't do it. Crazy shit.

  • The bible is full of crap and the first page proves it. How did god create light in the first day but didn't create the stars until the fourth day? You would think that an all knowing supernatural being who presides over billions of galaxies would know that light comes from stars and it is impossible for light to exist before the sun. But when your brainwashed christian its easy to overlook such an enormous screw up.

  • @seanjc25 What's difficult to understand? God created our sun on the first day, and the stars on the fourth day? We don't see by the light of the stars in the heavens.

  • yeah shrimp

  • There are many verses in the Bible that reflect how God wants us to act. Whenever marriage is the topic, a man and a woman are mentioned. But I don't remember anywhere God accepts gay sex or marriage. So how can I accept gay sex or marriage as something God accepts?

  • @HunterXray LOL Nothing in the Bible indicates God approves of electricity. Do you approve of it? The bible definitely indicates that God approves of slavery and polygamy, does that make it ok?

  • If you only read the bible based on your social structure then you will be very uncomfortable with most of it, the bible goes way passed our social or cultural structure God's word is to be understood from a spiritual perspective, and only a Holy Spirit filled person can understand it the way God meant it to be. scripture says, you must ask God to forgive your sins and ask Jesus to be in your life, then the Holy Spirit will enter you and fill you. the word will come to life,

  • First of all go on line and find out about gays coming out of that lifestyle. It happens all the time, gay people should be angry with those who are lying to them saying they can't leave, you can be set free if you want, Jesus died as the final sacrifice for all sin for all time. He didn't judge the woman caught in adultry, but said go your way and sin no more, He would say the same to a gay person, but first He would set them free through His love they wouldn't want to continue sinning.

  • Homosexuality is not who a person is it is a choice people make, because of many reasons. all the people I ever knew who were gay, were victims of sexual abuse as children, I also noticed one thing they had in common, they were unwilling to face it or deal with what had happened ie get any counceling for the abuse they had suffered, not even wanting to go there. Theyre home life was disfungtional and in some cases down right nasty, ritual abuse was a factor in some cases,

  • God dosen't hate anyone,He does hate what they do. besides if the bible is only fiction whats the big hubub, why not pull up a chair and put up your feet and read it then, like you would read any book of fiction. why would anyone feel so threatened, arn't we in a free country alowed to believe as we choose so why are you so intolerant? you call us bigots, but whos the hater? if you realy think its not true whats the harm if we do?

  • God loves you, but to say that what you are doing is okay, would not be doing you a favour, and if the Bilbe is fictional, then why would you be so upset by what is said? if its not true then why would Jesus say forgive your enimies? have you ever read a book of fiction. where the main charactor forgave His enemies from the cross where He was nailed? would His followeres have alowed themselves to be torrtured to death in terrible ways if it was all myth?read this book of so called fiction.

  • The gospel is about the salvation of souls, through repentance(a willingness to turn away from sin), In corinthians Paul said that some of them had in theyre past been homosexuals but they were cleansed and santified, because of coming to faith in Jesus, there are thousands of former gay people, who were set free from that lifestyle by faith in Jesus, thats one thing the gay lobbiests don't want gays to know they can be set free, its a lie that they can't leave once they cross that line.

  • God does not hate homo sexuals, but He does condem the gay life style as well as aduldry, coveting stealing murder and pther sins, and thats what it is, and no not all fundementalist christians hate homo sexuals, in fact its quite the opposit. I've experienced intolerance and hatred from those who claim to be tolerant, there is more hate propaganda against christians then any other group, but thats what Jesus said would happen to His people, especially those who come out of the gay life style.

  • lol, god hates alot of stuff.lmao

  • I'm christian. I don't believe it's a sin to be in a loving relationship with another person. No matter if it's a man or a women. Love is Love. It just happen's. Why would God put love on this earth if he knew that man and man or women and women would fall in love? I think the bible just refers to Gay Prostitution. It's not a sin to be in a comited relationship with another person, man or women. It doesn't matter. :)

  • The bible is the final authority... AMERICA WILL BURN JUST AS ROME DID... AMERICA THE GREAT WHORE.

  • There is no misconception lol. Homosexuality was, is and always will be a disgusting concept to normal folk. Live your deviant lifestyle but stop trying to change society to fit your radical social agenda. Sicko's.

  • @bachmann4president Judging by your account name, everything you say is wrong.

  • @bachmann4president

do you know that Bachmann actually has a penis? google it.

  • @bachmann4president Why would God put love on this earth if he knew that man and man, or women and women would fall in love. Please Explain this to me?!

  • @bachmann4president But that's the thing, they're not trying to get society to "fit their agenda" they just want society to leave them alone. It's ignorant Nazi's like you that wants THEM to fit YOUR radical agenda by banning gay marriage. There has never been, and there will never be, a fundamental right for one man to suppress another man's fundamental rights, that's not the way it works!

  • @bachmann4president We could say the exact same for you, sick christian freak.

  • Gay=Good As You! The fundamentalists in Christianity have little or no concept of how mind-numbingly tedious they are. They spew forth THEIR interpretation of what God was meant to have said, saving their most hateful venom for us gays.Well here's a warning for them.God WILL have his vengeance on YOU! If I'm going to Hell then I'll see all you haters there.Just think about THAT! All those pissed-off 'faggots' having all eternity to make your lives in Hell just that,HELL! Look forward to it!

  • Im Jewish and I'm Lesbian. And the Fact that i'm in ninth grade doesnt help and the fact that alot of people in my school are, no offense to jesus lovers, jesus-freaks. i get called a fag everyday as i walk down the hallway. this documentary speaks the truth in every way possible. Yes, the Torah/Bible say its an abomination but my G-d made me this way, it wasnt my choice.

  • @GiwrgosStams

I wish many others were as strong as you.

  • I'm fucking sick of this. There are a thousand dictations of "sin" in the Bible that modern Christians disregard, disagree with, and flat out don't know about because the idiots don't even read their Bible. And yet homosexuality seems to be the one issue that these sheeple just can't QUITE reconcile. You can take your apologetic "love the sinner, hate the sin", "Jesus would hang out with gay people", "the Bible says do not judge" bullshit and fuck off. We don't need your second-rate support.

  • I'm getting so sick of being beaten with the bible by christians telling me I'm doomed to hell for sucking cock. BITCH PLEASE! THE BIBLE IS FICTIONAL. JUST LIKE MOBY DICK!

  • the Use of the little kid singing in the beginning and the end, is really haunting, it gave me chills.

  • I think people should accept whats going on around them, get over it and realise that there's nothing they can do to change it! How can you change how someone was born? God loves everyone regardless. Move on! There are much more important things in the world to be worrying about, like poverty, war... etc. And you waste your time condemning people who are merely in love?

  • @thequietoneattheback

    war = backed by religion

    poverty = caused by war

god doesn't love everyone. read your bible.

  • @randomperson2538 lolol u trollin'? Christians dun love everyone but god does. I agree wit Gandhi.

  • @spiffehmary you can't be loved by something that doesn't exist. and if you DO believe he exists then read the bible. he hates the majority of people.

  • @randomperson2538 AHAHAHAHAHA TEARING where does he ever say he hates anyone.. Like honestly where do you get that I'VE READ THE WHOLE BIBLE can you please point out a verse

  • this film was very well done. I dont think people really understand what LGBT people and their families go through.

  • this is why religion is fucking dumb

  • this is a real, honest question, but isn't incest mentioned in the bible? and i don't see any indication of negative consequences for incestous acts in the bible. like Lot and his daughters from the book of Genesis;

"And the elder said to the younger Our father is old, and there is no man left on the earth, to come in unto us after the manner of the whole earth. Come, let us make him drunk with wine, and let us lie with him..."[Genesis 19:31]

Does that mean that it's ok? honest answers pls. ty

  • Terrific movie!

  • this is stupid. People who hate gays and torment them are sinning just as much as they are. We are not here to judge we are here to spread the word of Christ throughout the world. I believe homosexuality is a sin, it says so in the bible and no one and nothing will change my mind on that. I also believe that marriage should be left between a man and a woman, that is what it is meant for, you see i dont believe in hate or torment and if that is what people are doing they are not truly Christians

  • @erebel55 To call someone sinful because of who they are is hateful. If you disagree then at the very least you should acknowledge that it is seen that way by outsiders.

  • without the internet I would be a very very different person I might not have lasted this long without it

  • @Toocute2beestr8 Clearly ignorance hasn't escaped you.. God's most important commandment is to love Him with all our mind, all our heart, and with all our strength. Yes, Jesus wouldn't hate homosexuals, nor do I, but I think He would use scripture to refute it. There are many things in the Bible that speak against homosexuality, so although Jesus would surely love them, He would not shy away from the fact that it is sin in God's eyes. In the same sentence, though, I am also a sinner. I need Jes

  • The responsibility of a Christian is not to shun, mock, refute, demoralize, or degrade other human beings. That includes gays. God loves everyone, and if you think Jesus wouldn't be hanging out with gays and homosexuals if he came back to earth today, you need to catch up on your relationship with Him. I really hate preaching over the internet, especially on here, where most people don't have the patience or tolerance for any opinions other than their own... but this truth needs to be accepted.

  • They make it sound like opposition to homosexuality is something new.

  • My teachers friend did this!!!!

  • There is just a lot of ignorant people out there. Make your own decisions and look for the answers within yourself. Life is way too short to be judgmental. God loves all people and walks of life. There is no wrong way to love someone. Too many people speak for God. Love Thy Neighbor as you would yourself. That is the most important commandment. No color, gender, or even sexuality should be omitted by this important message. God created us out of LOVE, Not hate. I blame ignorance.

  • People focus too much on homosexuals. It’s not the kinds of sin that God wants you to focus on. its Jesus Christ who needs to be focused on. Fornication is one of many things people bare as their ball and chain preventing them from the pursuit of Christ. Homosexuality is obviously wrong, not simply in the Christian theology but simple anatomical sense. But let’s not forget that so is sex outside of marriage. A rapist calling a murderer wrong is pointless. Just follow Christ and the sin won't.

  • I wished that entire cultures had the capability of completely changing their mindset overnight. That would save a whole lot of lives and prevent so much hatred.

  • white male and straight.thats the stereotypical "bad guy" now? that bitch is racist, sexist, and what, heterophobic?im for equal rights for everyone as long as they dont think like that.

  • @robduude

Lol I thought the same exact thing, but they actually just cut her sentence off. She goes on to say that she will read the bible as black, lesbian woman; and that everybody reads the bible based off their social structure.

  • @robduude your the bitch

  • @sjackson622 you give such a compelling argument but im afraid im going to have to disagree with you.

  • AMAZING! religion *tisk*tisk* always trying to keep control. it's scary living in a capitalist country ran by extreme christians. what a crazy world. i need to get out of the U.S.

  • @woahhthere09 Where will you go?

  • @woahhthere09 yes, you do

  • Why is everybody fightingon this movie, like they haven't seen it. This movie doesn't show how "stupid" The bible is, neither aproves of the bashing of atheists do, neither demonize christians. This is a wonderful movie about what christianity really is and what god and the bible really mean. It shows the face of what a REAL christian has to be. Mercyfull, kind, loving and not afraid what people said.

  • @trufamoon "Mercyfull, kind, loving and not afraid (of) what people said" well done. now just realize that the bible goes against these things.

  • @trufamoon if christians WERE like that I don't think anyone would mind. but the way they are in america now is what is represented in this video.

  • @randomperson2538 I'll take your lack of response as you not being able to find an example of God hating anyone. GOD BLESS YA HUN!

  • @spiffehmary what the fuck are you alking about?

  • @spiffehmary and who the fuck are you I havn't talked to you before.

  • @randomperson2538 scroll down, I was the one who said god didn't hate anyone.

andd I'm talking about what you were talking about, making the "what the fuck" entirely applicable.

  • @spiffehmary oooooh so that's who you are. my bad. i didn't get a msg in my inbox saying i got a reply. well.

he says, kill atheists, kill anyone of another religion, kill kill kill kill. I'm sure I could find more. also send the majority of mankind to hell. I would take that as HATE.

  • @trufamoon have you heard the famous statement of Ghandi? He said "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians." This sums up what has been my life experience being raised around Evangelical Christians my entire life (my father's a minister). While there are a few good Christian people, the majority of them are judgmental and narrow minded people who created the environment that I wanted to escape from. I rejected Christianity when I was 14 and never thought twice about my decision.

  • @lisztnut Yes, a lot of them are narrow minded, but that is what exactly this movie is tying to achive. Put the record straight with the help of several ministers, rabbis, theology experts, that the bible is supposed to be read in the context of that time a lot of things more. The people that explain the bible in this movie and how wrong is to discriminate gays in with the context of the bible, neither of them are atheist, they only use religious people. Is a reconciliating movie.

  • @trufamoon thanks for your response. I agree that the bible is taken out of context and used to do very bad things. You can compare it with the Muslim fundamentalists who take the Koran and use it to kill people who don't agree with them.

  • I think ignorance and religion go hand in hand my friend. Religion and it's dogma and ignorance have to be resoundingly REJECTED.

    Peace.

  • one thing i do not understand Christians say being gay is wrong, however incest is what the bible teaches..read story about Noah and Christians see that as ok..umm help me here ..soo since it is supported by religion as i mentioned story of Noah incest is okie dokie .. maybe it just me but incest is wrong however you Christians obviously think it is ok...as after all religion does support it..oh a final note read Luke 6:37 and explain why you are going against the very God you support

  • @johndebbra YOU SAID "being gay is wrong, however incest is what the bible teaches..read story about Noah" I SAY Please tell me how you can populate the earth starting with 1 man & 1 woman without incest. Incest was required for you to be here today. The way the Bible instructs man to live over the past 10K years or so has changed as Jesus Christ taught the OT law is not fully applicable today. Luke 6:37 To Judge someone you cast a penalty; not just warn it's sin; calling it sin is not judgment!

  • @ARealWiseGuys i said "Christians say being gay is wrong",please do not accuse me saying what i did not.

  • @johndebbra I meant no accusation. I'm sorry I did not explain myself better. What I hoped to explain is that Christians saying HOMOSEXUALITY (HS) IS A SIN is not Judgment. If I say an Apple is red I'm judging it? No, it's just an attribute of apples. You implied Luke 6:37 as an attribute of Christians disallowing them from saying HS is sin or wrong because they would be Judging HS. Saying HS is sin is not judging, it's like calling a spade a black symbol. Christians should say it's sin, it is.

  • @ARealWiseGuys Don't have a variety of crops on the same field- Leviticus 19:19

Don't wear clothes made of more than one fabric- Leviticus 19:19

Don't cut your hair nor shave- Leviticus 19:27

Any person who curseth his parents, must be killed- Leviticus 20:9

If a man cheats on his wife, both man and woman must die-Leviticus 20:10

If a man has sex with a woman on her period, they are both to be "cut off from their people" Leviticus 20:18

  • @ARealWiseGuys I posted that list of ridiculous activities that are considered an "abomination" according to Leviticus to show you how Christians pick and choose what they want to believe. The same verses that supposedly condemn homosexual "behavior" also condemn a variety of activities that most Christians participate in daily. Why do you do this? Are you hypocrites?

  • @lisztnut Quite simply, you are ignorant to the full meaning of what you are mocking. The Lev law was implemented as a way to make a down "Pay"ment for sin. Jesus Christ came and completed the transaction with the "Pay"ment for sin with his own death. This act made the Liv law obsolete. No physical act is required to pay for your sin; only to accept what Jesus did as the payment for your sin. It's ignorant to imply those things are relevant in the way God deals with Homosexual Sin today.

  • @ARealWiseGuys OK, so Leviticus is obsolete, and doesn't apply, so why do you idiots keep quoting it in regards to homosexuality?

  • @ARealWiseGuys homosexuality isn't a sin, according to Archbishop Desmond Tutu. So, who's correct, he or you?

  • @ARealWiseGuys if you do not believe in evolution i can see what you are saying however without evolution, the whole world would be the same race as Adam and Eve,unless you are a Mormon then you believe that black people are cursed by God which is their explanation for the skin color,if you are not Mormon how without evolution is there so many different races God did it is not evidence if it is then you would have to believe the Mormons and i think you are more intelligent then that.

  • just like some atheist are bad some christians are bad. if you are a true christian you will love everyone regardless of how they are, only people that get involve with evil, hate and discrimination which is things that the bible dislikes are causing all this fuzz!

  • god hates shrimp

    religion is funny

  • @Samura1gamer Cool I hate Shrimp too. YES!!!! Oh wait I'm not Christian. Not anymore anyways.

  • where can i watch the full documentary?i already tried in veoh but it said it's not available in my country,i'm from bahrain by the way.i already tried searching in youtube but no success.help.. :((

  • @eiprildesho19

    it's on Netflix.

  • As a Christian, I do believe in most of the teachings of the Bible. BUT we have to understand that the Bible was written in a different time, and as we all know, times change, people change, society changes. What I don't understand is how some "Christians" justify their prejudice killings with the Bible. It gives us Christians a bad name.

I want everyone to know not all Christians are like that. Some of us are very open-minded and accept people the way they are.

    Thanks for listening.

  • Heh, I used to be religious. But I realized a while ago that the bible was written by power hungry men who wanted to gain control through fear mongering. Just look what they did to us now... hundreds of years, and just look at what it's all caused. Death, hate, violence, and it just never stops, does it?

  • Where does morality come from? Is morality absolute? If it's not absolute what value does it have? If it's not absolute being Gay could be morally acceptable today, but not acceptable next week . Then who can set absolute morality? Not man, man would change it. To have true morality it has to be absolute to be worth anything, if it's absolute, it can't come from man, who's left? God & absolute morality by way of the Bible; which has defined a moral basis for homosexuality. it's nay.

  • @ARealWiseGuys The Bible was written by men. Men are the ones that put the "morals" in there.

  • And for everyone who chooses to pull one verse quotations from the Old Testament (Deuteronomy, Exodus, etc)... That is the law of the OLD covenant. If you guys were to read more than one verse a time and start in Matthew and read through the New Testament, you would realize that. A lot of those verses don't necessarily apply anymore. Please read it! Think for yourself!

  • @dleblanc YOU SAID "OLD covenant... A lot of those verses don't necessarily apply anymore." I SAY Agreed! What a sin is as defined in the Old testament (Homosexuality) is still sin; HOWEVER the way God reconciles with the person committing the sin has clanged. We no longer need to sacrifice an animal for sin; since Jesus gave His own life & blood on the cross the payment for all sin has been made by Christ. How we define what sin is has not changed, how we reconcile our sin with God has! :-)

  • er.... why people cant get along in harmony ~

    游行+示威在中国都是浮云,要和谐~

  • but the fact remains it is not only morally wrong according to the bible

but biologically wrong we can not allow homosexuality or els our Race will be extinct with in a century there was created a man and a Woman for a reason which is the sole reason of life it self which is continuance which one can not produce if we were all to say like our own sex if it was meant to be so we would all have been bigender such as a snail /slug but we are not for a reason thats the criteria behind it

  • @xxxTarjoXXX sorry, but your comment here is really, really stupid. Weren't you even paying attention to the video? What gives you the idea that gay people can't have biological children? Since when? There are lots of gay people with children. Here's a riddle for you. Which group would die out first?

1 An island of gay men and lesbians.

2 An island of heterosexual men. You are confusing gender and sexual orientation. Homosexuals CAN and DO procreate.

  • @lisztnut YOU SAID "Which group would die out first?

An island of gay men and lesbians - An island of heterosexual men"

    I SAY

How about this? Which group would live longest?

    1. A Island of gay men

2 An island of heterosexual men

    3. An Island of heterosexual women

    4. An Island of straight men & woman

INTERESTING Biblical Creation ( even evolution) shows this Island (earth) started with only straight men & woman. Homosexuality was TOTALLY ABSENT in the beginning, I don't wonder why!

  • @ARealWiseGuys and, where the fuck did you get the notion that there were no homosexuals on the planet in the beginning of time? Let's not forget that men were on earth for 1.4 million years BEFORE your bible myth started.

  • @ARealWiseGuys my point, which seems to allude your limited, brainwashed, religious brain, is that sexual orientation has nothing to do with procreation. Whether one is gay or straight does not affect one's ability to have children in the least, so whatever your point is is completely moot given this FACT!

  • @ARealWiseGuys and, the purpose of sex is clearly pleasure, otherwise why would there be one resultant pregnancy for every 10,000 acts of intercourse? It makes no sense. Do you straight men visit prostitutes in order to procreate? Somehow I didn't think that was a part of it. Perhaps I'm wrong?

  • @lisztnut YOU SAID "...the purpose of sex is clearly pleasure... Perhaps I'm wrong?" I SAY Define: Purpose "the reason for which something exists..."If pleasure is the purpose of sex the mandatory consequence equates nonexistence This defense of homosexuality exclusively conclusively discredits the orientation. By application your fallacious recklessness would require your own extinction. Not what I desire. My question still stands (after answering 28 of yours) Where did you cone from?

  • @ARealWiseGuys you seem confused. Yes, the PURPOSE of sex is for pleasure. In many cases procreation is the unwanted consequence of sexual activity, hence the need for abortion and birth control. It is a mere coincidence that something that "feels good" was also designed to create life. But, I come back to my original statement: "why is it that for every 10,000 acts of sexual activity there is ONE resultant pregnancy?"

  • @ARealWiseGuys where I came from is hardly a question that is germane to this discussion. How do you know I wasn't conceived in a test-tube? And, are you aware that British researchers are now working on a procedure to inseminate one woman's egg with the stem cells of another female, thereby bypassing any need for sperm? As a gay man, ask me if I give a damn about this, because I don't. I have no problem with men becoming obsolete in the reproductive arena. That's NOT my purpose in life.

  • @ARealWiseGuys and, there is no way to "discredit" homosexuality. It has always existed as for a biological PURPOSE. it is not a "fad," nor a "sin" nor a "behavior" but rather simply the way some animals and humans are biologically predisposed. Get over the fact that gay people are born every day. We're not going anywhere, and despite the idiotic efforts of the Christian right, we will ALWAYS be here. You can do nothing about it. Accept it, and move on.

  • @ARealWiseGuys for more info on the biological purpose of homosexuality, I refer you to this youtube video:

Homosexuality in the Animal Kingdom (National Geographic) and this book: Conundrum: The Evolution of Homosexuality. You will learn WHY homosexuality exists.

  • @ARealWiseGuys sorry, I left out the author of the book I recommended: Conundrum: The Evolution of Homosexuality by NJ Peters. It's available on amazon com. You might also look up this book: A Separate Creation: The Search for the Biological Origins of Sexual Orientation by Chandler Burr. And, this article from the same book can be googled: The Only Question that Matters: Do People Choose their Sexual Orientation, by Chandler Burr. Enjoy!

  • @ARealWiseGuys look, I have no idea why I was born gay, but I'm sure glad as hell i was, and there is NO chance I would choose to be heterosexual in my next life, as I feel my life has been richly blessed because I'm gay. If you want to know "why" I feel this way, just ask me.

  • @lisztnut : Homosexuality is a deviance that's very rare in nature. Bisexuality does occur, especially when no sex partner of the other species is available, but restriction of sex to the same sex is very atypical and rare.

You say the purpose of sex is pleasure? That's ridiculous. The reason sex is pleasant is merely to get men and women to have sex so a species doesn't go instinct. In fact, us humans and our bonobo cousins are among the few species where sex is done for mere pleasure.

  • @OutOfTheBoxThinker sorry, but you're just plain wrong, and seriously in need of some education. Nearly every animal species participates in sexual activity for pleasure primarily and procreation as a secondary consideration. Please tell me why humans have birth control and abortion. A species of bighorn sheep participates in male on male anal intercourse to ejaculation and any male that doesn't participate is thrown out of the herd.

  • @OutOfTheBoxThinker are you aware that only five percent of the population is left handed? It is comparable to being homosexual. So, are you telling me that people are wrong to be left handed? That makes no sense. I don't care how small the gay population is, that is a moot point and completely irrelevant. Homosexuality exists for a biological purpose, and it amuses me that we're such a threat to heterosexuals. I'm flattered, frankly, but get over your insecurities. Gays are born each day.

  • @OutOfTheBoxThinker this youtube video will educate you further: "Homosexuality in the Animal Kingdom (National Geographic). This book is also enlightening: "Conundrum: The Evolution of Homosexuality" by NJ Peters.

  • @OutOfTheBoxThinker and, you haven't explained why every 10,000 acts of sexual activity results in ONE pregnancy. That's a whole lot of effort for little return. My heterosexual couples have between two and three children, are you telling me that they've had sex two or three times? Get real.

  • @OutOfTheBoxThinker by the way, we completely agree that the bible is immoral! Hooray! I read your profile page.

  • @lisztnut YOU SAID "the bible is immoral! " I SAY If that were true, what would be used as a base for a system of morals? What authority and value does a moral have if it changes when desired by those who follow it? That is how laws function, not morals. I've noticed many homosexuals struggle defining their system of morals and become defensive when the topic is addressed; unable to define an operable alternative to the historical pattern of morals that have beneficially stood the test of time.

  • @ARealWiseGuys I cut and pasted the "bible is immoral" statement from a website entitled: religious tolerance. I think most gay people have a higher moral standard than your average Christian. We do NOT believe in creating laws that would discriminate against heterosexuals. On the other hand, many Christians want to IMPOSE onto our government laws which relate to their personal religious beliefs. This is NOT religious freedom, but rather a theocracy.

  • @ARealWiseGuys it is IMMORAL to vote on civil rights!

  • @ARealWiseGuys many of our founding fathers were Deists, and very much ANTI-Christian. Thomas Paine said "The Christian bible is a fraud which insults god." They would have been OUTRAGED that we allowed an issue involving the civil rights of a minority to be placed on the ballot box so that the majority could crush the rights of the minority. This is what I call IMMORALITY.

  • @ARealWiseGuys I'm sure glad that our founding fathers saw fit to install the three branches of government so that the courts could protect the rights of the minority from the tyranny of the majority. It disgusts me that most Christians don't see the irony of removing civil rights via majority vote when this is one of the reasons they came to these shores to escape a government controlled by religion. Sad. People don't know their own history.

  • @ARealWiseGuys so you can bet that we homosexuals will RUN to the (liberal, activist) courts every time we get our rights trampled on. It's our ONLY source of protection, if you haven't noticed. And, the irony of the Mormons trying to impose their will onto the law is just beyond ridiculous. These people were chased out of the Eastern US because people didn't want their polygamy, and now they turn around and bash another minority. DISGUSTING!

  • @lisztnut Please STOP pretending you are replying to something I commented about. If you want to continue your frustrated ramblings leave me out of it. If your looking for a "respectful intellectual exchange" Bring It On!

  • @ARealWiseGuys I'm waiting for a wise answer from you regarding the FACT that humans have been on earth for 1.5 million years, and yet you believe in a bible that tells you that humans were "created" 6000 years ago. So far, all I've gotten from you is that your "faith" tells you that science is wrong. This isn't an intelligent debate, but rather a chance for you to ignore my questions. NOT interesting! And, I'm leaving for South America for two weeks anyway. Maybe we'll catch up later?

  • @lisztnut YOU SAID "FACT that humans have been on earth for 1.5 million years, and yet you believe in a bible that tells you that humans were "created" 6000 years ago" I SAY What is the FACT that proves 1.5 M yrs? Where does the Bible say humans were created 6000 yrs ago? (hint it doesn't) you should ask if I believe something before you say I do., How about just 1 question at a time. Mine STILL is where do you believe mankind came from? Question 2 will be "why?"

  • @lisztnut There is so much we don't know about the differences between how we tell time now and how they told time in the biblical days. The calendars then were very different. We're more accurately interpreting dates and time periods from the Bible than we ever have before.

Humans likely have been here 1.5 million years or more, and God put us here.

"Faith consists in believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe" Voltaire

  • @lisztnut The bible never says that the world was created in 6000 years That is what a bunch of creationist had tried to make believe to us. But it's wrong. The world was created in 7 days, it says. Well, in the old days, and this was told to me by my spanish teacher , who is a nun, in the old times 7 meant "infinite", like the 7 seas, it's a methaporical number. For me, a deep believer, the creationist movement is a heresy. God creates nature and nature's timeline is god's timeline as well.

  • @trufamoon I see that you are more educated and enlightened than most Christians, however, I must disagree with you on one point. The bible indeed says that the earth was "created" 6000 years ago, as most bible scholars agree on that using the bible as a timeline. Apparently you don't take the bible literally when it comes to this? Do you think Methusela lived 900 years? It's in your bible.

  • @lisztnut Here is the best answer I can give you. The characters Adam and Eve translates into man and life. It is not meant to represent the first humans, but the shift from living easy nomadic lives where people only worked a few hours a day, and then becoming agriculturalists and working very hard days. The lineage in the bible does not end with Adam and Eve, so that means the bible does not really say how old the world is. I hope you at least find this answer interesting.

  • @makexxwar thank you for your answer. I had never heard it from this point of view. I know that Catholics tend to be less "literal" about these sorts of things, but most fundamentalist Christians I know think that Adam and Eve were the first humans and they were "created" 6000 years ago. Also, can you explain how Adam and Eve had grandchildren without committing incest?

  • @lisztnut In the story of Adam and Eve, she is made from his rib, so she is not really his sister. However, like i said before, they are not real people. The story of Adam and Eve is like any other fairy tale, it's an interesting story meant to carry an important message, which is that knowledge and wisdom leads to a harder life, and you can never go back to a simpler time. Ask me any questions you'd like, I believe that all ideas should be challenged. I wish there was more space on here though

  • @makexxwar You didn't understand my question. I said that Adam and Eve's family had to commit incest in order to have grandchildren. In other words they either had sex with their own kids or their children had sex with one another. There is no other way for them to get grandchildren, understand? I never said Adam and Eve were brother and sister. That's a moot point, and shows that your mind isn't capable of simple logic problems. So, I won't ask you anything else. Thanks!

  • @lisztnut I'm sorry, I did misunderstand you. However, the way you phrased your question is what confused me. You should have said, " ...can you explain how Adam and Eve had grandchildren without their kids committing incest?" I tried to give a reasonable answer based on my understanding of your question, and there was little need to call me an idiot. My answer still holds, however, that Adam and Eve were not real people and therefore had no real children to commit incest.

  • @OutOfTheBoxThinker "Physical orientation and sexual orientation are not moral issues, and majority / minority phenomena in nature do not involve natural versus unnatural categories. The exceptional in nature is still natural, whether the exception is left-handedness or the homosexual orientation of erotic desire." D. Michael Quinn, ex-Mormon and former professor at Brigham Young University.

  • @OutOfTheBoxThinker since you are such a profound thinker, can you explain to me why homosexuality has always existed in humans and animals in roughly the same percentages over time and in all cultures?

  • @xxxTarjoXXX finally, even without the procreation aspect, homosexuality serves a biological function, otherwise it would not exist as it does in over 1000 species of animals and humans for the entire history of the planet. What makes you think that homosexuality isn't a part of nature's design? I'm not even talking about whether a god exists or not, but for sure homosexuality is natural and exists for a reason. Here's a youtube vid:

Homosexuality in the Animal Kingdom (National Geographic)

  • @xxxTarjoXXX I'd also like to point out that what the bible says is irrelevant. The bible was written by men, and it has gotten many things WRONG. In fact, are you aware that humans were on earth 1.4 million years BEFORE Adam and Eve were supposedly "created?" FACT!

  • @lisztnut There's no way that you can state that it is a "FACT" that there were humans on the earth 1.4 million years before Adam and Eve. I can't state as fact that Adam and Eve were the first two humans on this earth. I believe it because everything else in the Bible that can be tested that I have tested has proven to be true. There is no one on this earth who can say without a shadow of a doubt that they definitely were or weren't the first humans. And that's the truth of it.

  • @lisztnut The Bible was written by men but inspired by God. Can you name some of the things that you believe the Bible has gotten wrong with some sort of hard evidence? If so, you'd be the first.

  • @dleblanc I'd be the first to point out the errors in the bible? Say what? There is a HUGE book called "Issac Asimov's Guide to the Bible," which goes through the entire book and points out all the errors, fallacies, things that are scientifically impossible, and what "could" be factual historically. To start out, let's look at Genesis. We know for a FACT that humans have been on earth for 1.5 million years at the least. The Adam and Eve story took place 6000 years ago! Oops!

  • @lisztnut Simply restating something doesn't make it more of a fact. How do you know that humans have been on earth for 1.5 million years? And please don't mention carbon dating if that is your "proof". It's already been proven how inaccurate carbon dating is.

  • @dleblanc I see, so you're one of "those" people. Don't tell me that you also think that evolution is just a "theory" and therefore "it didn't happen!" LOL! There are people who still think that evolution didn't happen, which is absurd. When scientist use the term "theory" it is the "study" of something. It doesn't mean that it is in doubt. Gravity is also a "theory." Yes, human footprints in Kenya date back to 1.5 million years ago. Fact. Accept it.

  • @dleblanc regardless of what you say about carbon dating, there is now a new movie which documents the oldest known cave paintings which date back 32000 years ago. This again, predates Adam and Eve, as is accounted in your bible. And, even IF we were to take the bible literally, what about the people who lived 900 years? Do you believe this is possible? Also, bible folks never seem to be able to put the dinosaurs onto a proper timeframe, because it doesn't get with the bible.

  • @lisztnut YOU SAID "bible folks never seem to be able to put the dinosaurs onto a proper timeframe, because it doesn't get with the bible." I SAY Many people, including Christians are not aware that human footprints have been found on top of dinosaur foot prints & the Bible does have a record of what is described to be dinosaurs in it's pages. So I can see why you were getting conflicting information. But for you, Not Anymore!

  • @ARealWiseGuys so, genius, please tell me how men can live 900 years, as your bible tells you, and please explain the human footprints found in Kenya which date back to 1.5 million years. Your bible's time-line does NOT gel with this scientific fact, does it? So, tell me why your bible is off by more than a million years.

  • @ARealWiseGuys how come you religious nuts have to jump through hoops in order to attempt to justify what's in your myth book with actual science? Shouldn't that tell you something? It tells me that your bible is a man-made concoction that is no more relevant to the real world than is Alice in Wonderland. Yes, there are some great stories in the bible, I don't disagree with that, but most of it did NOT happen. It's time to grow up, and accept the obvious.

  • @ARealWiseGuys frankly, it's entertaining to me to watch people such as yourself try to convince yourselves that the flood happened, and that people lived to 900 years of age, and that Jesus was born of a virgin, and Lot's wife turned to salt, and that Jonah got swallowed by a big old whale and lived to tell about it. The sad irony is that the people who wrote those stories KNEW they were stories, and not fact. They were trying to TEACH you something, understand? It was NOT reality.

  • @dleblanc let's face it, the people who concocted your bible wrote about the history that they knew at the time. People in biblical times also thought the earth was flat. We know for a fact that it isn't. Thank goodness nobody wrote that into the bible, otherwise, you bible beaters would still believe that the earth is flat!

  • @dleblanc Isaac Asimov wrote a book called "Isaac Asimov's Guide to the Bible." In that huge book he goes through the bible with a fine toothed scientific comb and says what "could be possible," "what Isn't possible," and "what is historically accurate." Surprisingly, some of the historical stuff actually is true, but there is a vast amount of material that simply could not have happened. That's why they call it "faith." You must suspend reality in order to believe that snakes talk!

  • @dleblanc Isaac Asimov said that the bible is the Atheist's best defense at proving there is no god.

  • @dleblanc so, you would believe that snakes talk before you would believe evolution happened, simply because your bible wrote it is so? Sad, just sad. Christianity is Santa for adults.

  • @lisztnut Finally got to watch the link you sent me, this is a little disturbing but nothing new to me. People are superstitious and would rather believe an old book of fairy tales than to think for themselves. Men don't walk on water anymore than they come back from the dead.

  • @Poochalot I wish you could see the whole movie, because it's great. The trailer is actually more disturbing on purpose. That's to get people to watch the movie, don't forget. The movie is more balanced and less "sensational" overall. I quite agree with you about the belief in god being the greatest deception in the history of our planet.

  • @lisztnut I'm just shocked that in the year 2011, people are still afraid to think for themselves. If anyone would just stop and THINK for a few minutes they would realize that the Bible is just a book of supernatural fairy tales. If someone wants to believe in that than I have no problem with that, we have Freedom of Religion in the USA; but what that means (and no one wants to admit this) is that religion ISN'T law. What does it take to get through to people?

  • @Poochalot U SAID"If anyone would just stop and think... they would realize...the Bible is...supernatural fairy tales.& religion ISN'T law."I SAY Have you actually read the Bible cover to cover without bios? You can find multiple unbiased annalists that prove It scientifically provides a historical record; far from "supernatural fairy tails"Law is based on morality-morality comes from God (religion).LAW REQUIRES RELIGION OR LAW RUNS ASTRAY; EXACTLY WHAT SOME WANT TO EMERGE TODAY! (true & rhymes)

  • @ARealWiseGuys Law does not require religion and yes I have read the Bible, that's how I know it's a book of fairy tales. I don't know where you got such a ridiculous idea that law requires religion. What religion does it require according to you? I do not believe that the Bible in any way is scientific or historical. The Bible talks about snakes who talk, bushes that talk, men walking on water and then coming back from the dead. None of these are possible and they didn't happen. Goodbye
