I love how all videos of BD turn into conversations about them switching to Pearl... Then crazy Die-Nasty fans thinking it was a bad decision. I'm partial to Pearl, and impartial to BD. But let em play their drums, doesn't matter what they are. That's what drum corps is about.

I don't t think it's all tuning. You can tune Dynasty all you want but they'll never sound like high quality. Pearl is high quality and they use really nice wood without all the metal reinforcement rings underneath the bearing edge. It's an all maple reinforcement ring in Pearls.  I personally feel that there's more character to the sound of Pearl drums. There's more crispness and clarity to the sound.
