What a beautiful emotional song by a talented musician with an incredibly tragic life. All his songs seem to always get me in a particular mood.. quiet and thoughtful and still if that makes any sense.
Also, this has got to be the only YouTube video I've ever seen with 0 dislikes.
No puedo parar de escuchar la canción, la descubrí ayer y es terminarse el vídeo y volver a ponerla, una y otra vez ^^. No sé qué tiene que me tiene así...
guy's first lp, produced by Paul Simon. His songs are very special to me, I saw him perform live at Bunjees coffee house in Soho along with Rambling Jack Elliot. A magic night.
I heard Nick Drake's versions of Frank's songs before hearing Frank's, but I still like the orginals far better. It feels like Nick played around with the arrangements too much, whereas Frank kept it simple and perfect.
Still love Drake obviously, but his covers left something to be desired in most cases.
@linesinaconversation i think he played it so different because it would have been to obvious that he took this tune for his own song DAY IS DONE. Im pretty sure that he did so. The picking pattern is very similar and the chord progression too. So he had to mask the original ;-)

Jimmy Page Jigsaw:
Take the guitar track from this wonderful Jackson C Frank track (especially the bass progression), overlay with vocal delivery & spanish guitar breaks from Sandy Denny's version of Milk & Honey. Add lyrics from Joan Baez - result is Zeppelin's (superior in my opinion) arrangement of Babe I'm Gonna Leave You.
Who cares what it sounds like or doesn't sound like. It's still an amazing song. If none of the other songs or covers you mentioned had ever been made, this would still be just as beautiful a song
really set the bar high for singer-songwriters. paul simon produced jackson's only album in the UK between S + G's Wed Morn and Sounds of Silence. Think he picked up a thing or 3 from Mr. Frank? I do-

Sounds quite good but i think Nick Drake's version is better. Because that one sounds more natural. Jackson C. Frank is trying to sound like a good singer, but Nick Drake ís a good singer.
its a crime that jackson c frank is not as big as dylan! he is fabulous! most of my heroes are relatively unknown! arthur lee anyone!? another genius! men like these are for the true conisseurs of music!

Anyone but me noticing the recemblance to Led Zeppelin´s - Babe i´m gonna leave you?
This song is amasing, no wonder Led Zep got "inspired".
