i saw this a few months ago and in english class today the teacher had the ipod cart (20-something 4th gen 32gb's, a 64gb iPad an a 13" MBP) (i go to a technical high school) so we took all 20-some odd iPods and did this, it was pretty epic
@ThisIsAdamB i have no idea how, but they managed to disable the camera app, and the app store. I'm still trying to figure out how they did that, i had my computer that day but they probably would have killed me if i restored it.
@stogi5959 yea my school is ridiculous, they spend over $75,000 on new computers for the media production class, plus all these ipods, and the CADD class (my class) is stuck with these stupid old pentium 4's. they really need to prioritize better.
Thanks so much! Now there seems to be one black pad that has some soft material on it. I believe you placed the compound in two areas on the 17". There is one pad there on the 15 inch model. Could it be that this would be the "only" area that I need to put it?
Adam. I am replacing memory on a G4, 15" Imac and after watching your video on putting heat compound on the 17" model, I would like to know if you have to do the same on the 15" model? There seems to be a black pad in there. Any help would be appreciated. thanks! Steve
@Stevenguzy1 Steve, I would think so. Been a long time since I was in a 15" iMac, but if it looks like the same sort of heat pipe arrangement as in this one, I'd say yes - better safe than sorry.

@ThisIsAdamB I'm adding memory to a 15" Imac G4, the same type as Adam is replacing in a 17" model. He refers to the heating paste that has to be applied. Is this necessary in the 15" model? There appears to be a pad there that is not in the video of the 17" model. Any help would be appreciated!
@Agentgamester3 Actually myself and two others were setting up 120 of these things. because of the way we were doing it, there was a lot of typing network configs, etc., on those small screens, over and over. My hand cramped up plenty from all that tapping.
