While I honour all soldiers, regardles of country (cept the scum like Al qaeda..hope that's how it is spelt) I think that alot of wars would never be started if it was the countries leaders & their staff that had to do the fighting. It is real easy to send young men & women out to do their dirty work..or better yet..get the weapons company heads to join them. Can you see that happening.
My dad went to Korea with the Royal Canadian Highland Regiment of the Black Watch.
to coyboy57: The boys aren't fighting for the money now--silly! there are still those who want to protect the freedoms we take for granted--fuck some damn reefer fields--is that all you are focused on? are you that jaded?
I morn for my forgotten brothers who lost their young and lives in Vietnam. Those I served with that, because of my own defense mechanism, I can't honor today because their names are buried so deep within my heart I can't access them. I see thier faces hear their cries. They haunt me.
May God, who knows each one, bless them and keep them in His care.
those names didnt need to be there. Will There be an Iraq wall too? We are losing our freedoms and pretty soon the walls will close us in.The boys are fighting for the money now. Check out the soldiers in the reefer fields in afghanistan on tube. Remind you of anything. SAm Stone all over again.
What a load of bull. Freedom isn't free? Are you mad? This is the line that has been used over and over again to gain our allegiance to imagined communities which 'protect' us and our interests. Complete nonsense! Freedom is not something that is ever granted to you. It is inside of you, and you can express your own freedom against anyone else. They may beat you or lock you up, but they cannot take away the fundamental freedom you were born with: the freedom of choice.
this wall is in Washington D.C right? or Vietnam...it makes me remember the war in Vietnam with U.S, so much damages the children got sicks from the chemical they dropped on our lands it just terrible.
As the wife of a Soldier in Iraq, I'm pray that no one forgets what it costs to be an American. Remember, Freedom isn't free, it is worth fighting for.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
