What a effing douche bag! This dude is clueless. Out of state, or in state, doesn't matter. The contractor CAN NOT decide jack diddly. If the INSURANCE COMPANY ADJUSTER agrees there is enough damage, then the Insurance company will pay to replace it. As a homeowner, you have the RIGHT to have your property inspected after a storm. If you were in a minor fender bender, would you want the body shop to look and see if there was damage?
How is it a Scam???? If the roofer does the inspection & doesn't find hail damage; they most of the time wont waste their time trying to get a homeowner to file a claim. Most homeowners are not aware that they have hail damage without an inspection; plus they dont realize how threatnig hail damage is to the roof until it's to late to file a claim, Besides the adjuster makes the decision, not the contractor. This guy has no idea what he is talking about.
Stick with your job as a real estate agent, cause you have no clue about the insurance or roofing industry. And I love the fact when you mention a roofing company knocking on a door and telling a home owner they probably have hail damage. And you say how would they know? Well if you knew more about the industry you would know there are tools (hailwatch) out there to track hail.. Should we start ripping on your industry as a crocked real estate agent?
I have no problem with legitimate claims ...But you roofers , adjusters ,homeowners know it's a bonanza out there .. Homeowners find someone that'll give them a kickback..roofers get a well paid roof . and the adjusters .. I am not sure about
Dont be such an idiot, these companies cant make the insurance companies pay. If there is no damage the adjuster wont approve the claim. Sometimes, the adjsuter wont approve the claim if there is damage!
I believe you do have serious concerns, you may not know quite how to convey them as you are a real estate professional and not either a contractor or claims consultant. I have spent over 7 years between a car dealership and a local roofing company interfacing with insurance professionals in reguards to claims and while i cant speak for how shiftless operators run THEIR businesses...I know mine, and am at a lost in deducing where you draw some of your conclusions sir. Thank you.
i have been knocking on doors and doing hail inspections for 6 years.. i love my job and all the new guys out there just gotta know what to look for when doing the pre inspection :) have a great day!
I am a roofer. we had a big hail storm come through our area and a lot of houses had damage. And Yes a LOT of out of state and area companies came in and took a lot of work away from us. We Never go door to door, they did and we only repair or replace roofs that had damage. But some insurance companies had the whole roof replaced when it only need the ridges replaced. Go figure. We even replace roof's that we had just done .
This guy is probably a insurance agent. The less amount of claims that an agent has to file each year the bigger there bonus is. So what happens is these agents will make you jump through hoops to try and discourage you from filing a claim. They will tell you something like ," I need you to get 3 or 4 estimates first". The honest truth is that the real scammers are the insurance co. and agents. They will pretend to be your friend and make you believe they are on your side.

This guy is a moron. First of all if you think there maybe hail damage you should call your insurance company and make a claim. Your insurance company is the only one that can approve or deny the claim. Of course insurance companies don't want you to make a claim because they don't make money for paying out on claims they only make money collecting your premium each month. Also when did it become a bad thing for people to try to drum up work for a service they provide.
You dont have a clue! Lets just say that these guys knock on your door and tell you that you have hail or wind damage. So you call your insurance and they come out and look at it.. Who decides if you get a roof? you? your roofer? or your insurance company?. hmmmmm .... so your insurance company is committing fraud? They pay you to get a knew roof cause you need one!!!! Thing about what you say before you say it. How is that wrong? No wait your wrong!!!!. No I'm not a roofer. I'm a ins adj.
Mr Alexander, Just one question are you a licensed insurance adjuster? If not, you are not qualified to make a determination weather or not people have hail damage.
Mr. Alexander, please go back to school and get your GED before you share your incompetence in a public setting such as this. I am sure your "Trying to help people" has nothing to do with the commission you make if you sell a roof. Your big corporation comment just tells a person that you will lie, cheat, and steal to sell a roof and "line YOUR OWN pocket with gold." If there is actual damage, then file a claim but don't just tell everyone that they have damage just to sell a roof.
I agree. I had five roofers come out and inspect my roof with the same conclusion that I have hail damage. One called my insurance company without my permission and tried to set a inspection when I wasn't home. My insurance company called and told of the meeting. I met the adjuster who was a nice guy. The contractor got mad and left when the adj said no damage. I hired a engineer to inspect my roof and agreed - NO DAMAGE.
My insurance is there for when I need it, not for some one else.
NOT ONLY THAT but those guys knocking on your door can get u a roof. They are trying to help homeowners recieve the very thing that they pay for every single month or year. How bout this Mr real estate agent why dont u go to school for this hail damage stuff and give it a try. Then you will understand that its people like yourself that are hurting people. Your advise alone could cost a homeowner 12-20K in a shorter amount of time than you think. 1 year after a hail storm most claim periods
wow what a retard. Quite frankly whats wrong is for homeowners to pay their hard earned moneyto these big corperations for home owners insurance and they line their pockets with gold from their clients money for the years that go by without homeowners not making a claim. Then idiots like yourself get on here AND TAKE UP FOR THE VERY PEOPLE WHO TAKE YOUR PAYMENT AND DONT WANT PEOPLE TO MAKE A CLAIM.
HOMEOWNERS IN AN AFFECTED AREA NEEDS TO SUMMIT A CLAIM WITH THE INS AND THE INS WILL INSPECT HOME AND THEM DECIDE.
AS A REALTOR YOU SHOULD BE MORE WORRY ABOUT TAKING CARE OF CUST AND THEIR PROPERTIES, SO WHEN THEY WANT TO SALE THEIR HOUSES, IT HAVE NOT LOOSE ANY VALUE, DUE TO DAMAGE ROOF, MOLDING, ETC. PUT YOUR EFFORTS INTO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND BECOMING A REAL PROFESIONAL REALTOR, AND NOT ON TRYING TO CONFUSE CUSTOMERS.
Also You should focus on driving your car, not making a diveo while driving.
I have heard that some contractors that knock on your door will put hail damage on your house if you don’t have any and that there is a website that teaches them how to do it at hailfraud dot
What an idiot. First, insurance companies will NOT pay for a new roof until the companies adjuster inspects it. DUH! Secondly, the insurance companies will only accept claims from homeowners. They do not accept 'claims' from roofers. Your video is a LIE! I would be very wary of buying a home from such and uninformed individual such as you. One question...are you certified to make these statements. Me thinks not!
Collier Swecker!! You are definitely uninformed.. You look so stupid with your ignorant comments made about policy holders filing claims for Hail Damage.
Guess you forgot Roofers don't dictate whether the roof gets bought. All WE do is assist the homeowner in the claim process if THERE IS DAMAGE.. I guess your smart @#^ would rather wait for the Water and Mold to take over and ruin all the interior??? You take a video while driving a moving vehicle!!! Shows just how retarded you ARE!!!
The insurance verifies whether or not there is weather related damage to a dwelling or structure. If there is any ethical matter in this it falls on the adjuster, who either works for or is hired by the insurance company as an independent adjuster, NOT ON THE ROOFER. It is up to the insurance companies to do their due diligence on every claim. If they can not do this they either need to hire more people to perform more audits of claims, continue as is or get out of the insurance industry.
What do you think that you could call your insurance and tell them you totaled your car and to buy you a new one and they would just take your word for it? (N0) Think about it, you are saying people are doing the same with their roofs.
You are what causes the insurance companies fortunes every year by misinforming policy holders that they don't have any damages. Stick to what you know (selling insurance policies) let the insurance adjuster be the one that decides if there is any hail damage, that is why the insurance companies employee adjusters is to perform accurate inspections.
Talk about integrity you idiot! I'm sure your auto insurance provider would love to see this video of you making a video while your driving. Real safe you loser! Get a life!
Quote "You probably have hail damage" U Should know that hail is sporadic and happens in small areas at a time. Plus even if hail DOES happen in an area 3 tab shingles are more susceptible than architectural shingles as well as thinner shingles "15 year" are more susceptible than thicker shingles "30 year".Its funny you cry about an increase of insurance probably a few hundred dollars per year when a damaged roof can cause water leaks that could result in Thousands of dollars in damage in Days!
Really, You must not know a whole alot about the claim process. Your Agent or insurance company isn't going to just show up at your door and show you a current Hail trax. Look it up. By the why, That door knocker or homeowner doesn't decide if the roof will get bought by the insurance co. The Insurance co. does. So, If you have hail claim it. Rates only go up if the State Catastrophe fund is reached, its not like if you back your car into your house. You didn't throw the hail at your house.
What a effing douche bag! This dude is clueless. Out of state, or in state, doesn't matter. The contractor CAN NOT decide jack diddly.
